FWIW, I think they flew into Newark. A flight from LAX landed there about 20 minutes ago. Probably good they flew into there considering it's a shorter trip to where they'll be staying.

Tomorrow mid-morning through afternoon is supposed to be sunny so if they can land on these runways, they should be able to take off on clear ones.

I wish I could say this weather is terrible but it looks like a biweekly occurrence where I live.

Hopefully their driver is week versed in snow driving so they can get to their hotel sometime in the next few hours.

ETA: I wonder if this weather reminds them of their first date. Oh memories.

Looks like traffic is still moving in Manhattan so they'll get there, it will just take time

There won't be any problem getting out. Snow is expected to end around midnight (source: NYTimes). They will be running as close to a full schedule as possible to get those who were stranded today out... and since they are undoubtedly in 1st class, and possibly on full fare tickets, they will not be bumped in favor of someone who's been delayed today.

While the snow would be a huge event in LA, it's something that NY deals with regularly with even higher results than these. It's good practice for the airports, too. SuperBowl travelers will be arriving in about a week- it will give the airport workers a chance to test their mettle.

^^^ I know. I grew up in LA... as soon as it rains (drizzles, heavy fog) the oil rises in asphalt and becomes really slick! I live in Philly now- and they don't really have it all together for rain. This is an "ice" belt- and no one can deal well with that.... but NY and New England know how to deal with the snow.
