So these new initials are exactly right unless she wanted to use her maiden name as her middle name once they're married. Can say I blame her for dropping that last name. It's a mouthful and no one ever gets it right, except Sean.
Her middle name is Ligaya and Mejia is her mother's last name. I hope she will drop both her last name and her mother's last name. Catherine Ligaya Lowe will be great too.
Yeah that would be nice too.

Yes that's what I always thought it was as well, as their invitations display. Don't see a problem with keeping her mother's maiden name, as it is her middle name, & most traditions are changing to your new last name, which she is super excited to do! I'm sure Sean will still call her Gaya though!

It's traditional in many Latin families to keep you mothers maiden name as part of your married name. I wonder if its a tradition in the Philippine culture as well? Mejia which is a very popular Spanish last name is the maiden name of my Colombian daughter in law and is part of her married name as well. So Catherine Mejia Lowe may be her part of her tradition.
I told you all I have a very blended family and there's not enough space to fill in all the delightful members.

I asked that question on the board once. Pia or one of our other Filipina friends said that was the case. The mothers maiden name is typically the kids middle name. So if Catherine sticks with tradition, their kids middle name will be Giudici.
And Linds, thanks. I was pretty sure I remembered it correctly.

I'm Filipina too and I have two first names and my mom's maiden name was my middle name. When I got married I changed my middle name to my last name and dropped my mom's maiden name. :)

Same here. My last name became my middle name when I got married. Traditionally, the children's middle name is the mother's former last name but we only followed that rule with our son and not with our daughter.

So totally changing the subject but someone asked Pandora on her picture of Catherine when Catherine was going to do another article for The Divine Addiction and she answered this week. We should keep an eye out for that!

I'm wondering if she stayed for a consult on hair and makeup maybe and to meet with Pandora about her article. He left so early he must have had something he needed to take care of today in Dallas.

Thats what I'm thinking on both accounts. He had business to do in Dallas and she had girlie stuff in LA.
