Because it would get buried against Christmas specials, college football league championship games/bowl games, and the end of the NFL season. Although it's going against the Grammys, it's not competing against any major sports or other big tv shows.Iploeg wrote:An indoor wedding would be fabulous and much easier to broadcast live. An indoor wedding would be great as you wouldn't have to worry about things like rain or helicopters overhead. And wedding planners these days are so creative. They could make an indoor wedding look like an outdoor wedding. Being that it'll be live, I'm sure they want everything to go as smoothly as possible so an indoor wedding sounds like it would have less problems.

^ Yes that is why I think an indoor wedding would be great. Would love if they did that.

Right. Is this always the case that time of the year? ( I apologise for being overly inquisitive :) Would like to get some facts straight). If this 'new' timeline turns out successful, which ABC is obviously aiming at, do you see this becoming a permanent timeline for tptb weddings in the future?umngirl wrote:Because it would get buried against Christmas specials, college football league championship games/bowl games, and the end of the NFL season. I think it might be their new plan, along with the live thing if it goes well. IF there are any more bachelor weddings, I anticipate they won't go with December again. Instead sticking with sweeps time in February/January or fall.Iploeg wrote:Right. Is this always the case that time of the year? The only drama I remember was during Ryan's bach party when they had the 2 strippers and he got upset. I don't remember any drama during Jason/Molly or JP/Ash's weddings. I can't imagine Sean and Cat having any drama.kitcat wrote:Sorry off topic
Knowing how The Bachelor producers penchant for stupid drama, you think we would also see some of those especially during the BTS moments leading to the live wedding?

umngirl wrote:Jason & Molly's payout might have been different for that very reason. They also didn't get a People Spread. I believe theirs was in OK so they got less payout there too. They also got married quite a bit after their season so that probably didn't help matters.Iploeg wrote:I get your point especially with the rest of the things mentioned in the article seemingly believable. However I do think the amount is negotiable. Weren't Jason and Molly paid 75,000? Or was that a penalty for not wedding his F1. Is that also stipulated in the contract somewhere? I think it is safe to say they'll be paid almost as much as JP&Ash received and we'll find out in due course how much they'll get and I the reports will differ. I think 250,000 is alot of money, but I am willing to bet SeanCat get more than that.umngirl wrote:I can't speak on how reliable the source is, but it's not totally weird that they would make the same amount. I would guess the contracts they sign as the lead talk about this. How much they can negotiate it, I don't know. Perhaps not at all, just the actual wedding with the payment at a set amount. The rest of the stuff said in the article, location, them filming stuff already, is totally believable to me.Iploeg wrote:How reliable is this source E!news is quoting? For starters I don't believe SeanCat will get paid the same amount as JP&Ash. Now every news outlet is going to quote this article and the ABC 'insider'.
I don't really care what their payment is. I'm sure it's a handsome sum plus all expenses paid wedding so they are coming out very much on top.
Not sure umngirl if Jason's and Molly's wedding was that far off of the Seancat timeline. Correct me if I am wrong but Jason and Molly were married at the end of February, almost one
Year since his season began airing. Seancat's wedding almost exactly a year also. I remember that Jillian's show came right after Jason's. Jillian and Ed attended Jason's wedding but broke up a few months later. Another thing that will be different is Jason had 300 guests and Seancat's will have 150.
I agree with you that it is a lot of money plus all expenses paid. Good for them! I know the details are still being decided but does anyone know if they have a favorite song as a couple?? Any guesses who might perform for their first dance?? :)

I think it's terrible they are putting it up against the Grammy's. That will be a hard night to beat. It's a throw away night ratings wise. They could have let Juan have his episode. It makes no sense to me.
There have been lots of inflated $$$ figures for what couples (since Trista) make on weddings but from what I have read they don't make nearly that much money.

Wasn't Jason and Molly's wedding almost 2 years after his season? They dated long distance for several months, then she moved to Seattle, and only after she's been there awhile did they get engaged. Fairly soon thereafter they had the wedding, but I don't think they got the whole 2 hour wedding. I think it was one hour.

I do think that they don't compete against the Grammy's for sponsors (different products attract). Sean and Catherine will promote the heck out of it and ABCs hoping that the wedding will at least draw better than whatever they put up against the grammy's last year did.IrishGal wrote:I think it's terrible they are putting it up against the Grammy's. Theirs was two hours.jcrbil wrote:Wasn't Jason and Molly's wedding almost 2 years after his season? And soccermom, my point was more people didn't care that much about them because of how that season ended and it feeling like old news.

Jcrbil, Jason's season aired January 2009 and he was married in February 2010. It was definitely a 2 hour special. They showed Molly crying in the beginning saying how hard it was to watch Jason be ripped apart in the tabloids. They also showed their bachelor parties in Las Vegas, and Molly shopping for her dress. The second hour they interviewed LOTS of past couples and then ended with the vows and part of the reception.
