I don't get that vibe. It a mixture of all seasons it seems. To me he reassures Nikki a bit kinda like on Brad season with Emily asking her how she feels and her thoughts about Camilla. He's getting to know her and talking more.
Rather than tongue down the throat, he gives her lovely little smooches and is always for whatever reason playing with her hair or head !!?!

With Clare, to me it's physical and he established that connection from night one with her baby bump prop and first date. Kind of like Chantal who was territorial with Brad much like Clare with Juan.

I should clarify. When I mentioned Jake and Vienna, I meant how some of the girls in the house...okay, most of the girls despised Vienna. Seems like this is a repeat with the girls bad-mouthing Nikki. Yes, I agree. Juan seems different with Nikki than he does with the other girls.

Oh, I agree that he is attracted to Nikki.  But what I am noticing with her is how uncomfortable she is in the group date situations, and she said that she retreats into the background.  So, JuanP appears to be reassuring her that he wants her there by giving her the GDR.  He is definitely physically attracted to her, but last night he even said that Sharleen was his favorite, and he picked her to have a 1-on-1 date with instead of Nikki.  Had he not said that about Sharleen being his favorite, then I might not have come to that conclusion.

I am sure that JuanP will start to develop feelings for Nikki, and I will have to see how both of his relationships with other two women progress in the next few weeks.  Something makes them both want to leave, so maybe it is because of Nikki.

Regarding the bolded...I'm pretty sure that when he said Sharleen was his favourite that was a voiceover. (Someone more interested than me may want to check.) Yes, he had been talking about her, but then that was spliced in...so it could have been said about anyone and just edited in there. Unless I see the lead talking straight into the camera and specific names mentioned, I never trust the editing. As for who he picks for the dates, we know that is pretty much again at the discretion of the producers so that doesn't really matter either.

Yes, that could have been a voiceover when JuanP said that.  I had forgotten how tptb like to splice and dice things.  And you are also correct in saying that who gets picked for the dates might not be a good indicator of who JuanP is really interested in.  Thanks for the reminder to never take anything at face value when it comes to this show. I am just mildly interested as it is.

Yes Longhornfan, sometimes I have to remind myself...althought that is usually harder when you are invested in someone. This season, like you, not so much.

I think Nikki has described herself honestly to Juan Pablo...she behaves exactly as she said...a bit insecure, quiet, standoffish. She does not fit in with the girls on this past date with her. I think it would be a downer to be with her when she behaves that way but it doesn't mean she's a villain.

I agree with you here he seems to talk about the substance behind the two girls whereas with others it's more superficial... they keep him on his toes...curious to see how it unfolds

I do like that fact that although Nikki may not get a long with everyone and may not be the nicest person in the group, she is self aware enough to say that she's uncomfortable and doesn't really know how to handle herself well in this situation. Living in a large group of women wouldn't fit everyone's temperment/personality - doesn't make someone a villain. (Courtney was probably the same but was just so unlikeable, weird and passive aggressive that she was unbearable). I don't dislike Nikki. She was funny at times. Just very direct maybe (no filter on what she says). I actually found Clare to be the same. She spoke to Nikki in a mature, calm way - not mean or petty, just very direct. I just don't really see much attraction from Nikki towards Juan Pabs. Maybe that will come.

I also think though that Juan Pablo is a majorly out-going, friendly type with a big family and seems to love to socialize. Would think he'd be drawn to someone that would fit his lifestyle by being similar - easy to get along with and friendly and likable in new situations.
