No they most likely stayed somewhere in Amarillo on I-40. The canyon is in Canyon, Tx which is a northern superb maybe 20 miles away. It's all really close together. There is an interchange where 40, 287 and 27 come together so you could stay on any of them but probably they would sty stay close to this point.
