That's hysterical! I'm thinking the approach, at least on the top end of the scale, is aimed at bookstores. For a local bookstore it would be a fun ad pitch...come buy the book and get entered in a raffle to have a SKYPE with Des and Chris.

lol, i love them but that is a bit silly. i'm sure its out there in case there is a crazy fan that wants to purchase that much, but i don't think they'll be upset if no one buys that much.

i don't think this was all their idea, but they are just running with it.

Chris and Des haven't tagged each other in a week. It's a little unusual since it was happening every day just about. Wonder if something is up?

yup i think he said that. i have compiled all of Chres moments in group setting as well. and have shared it once.  Just as Ali have noticed, i convinced Des always tried to be sit/stand/near Chris in a group date or in pool/cocktail party. So true! Des clearly loved and wanted Chris. Go back and watch the videos on youtube. Des was getting frisky with Chris in that garden (she was wearing a very short skirt and a yellow top). Then at the overnight date, Chris clearly said they should spend more time together talking under the stars. What happened, Des jumped his bones, that scene in the hot top was sizzling, even more so than the one where she was on top of him. I kept thinking that Chris's Mom is going to see those, and she is not going to believe what her son was doing. Lol.

De clearly wanted Chris and she knew it, and so did Brooks. I think Brooks was a plant and that is why he was left in the dark about the proposal (I think he was paid well to pretend that he didn't know about it). Makes me wonder what he said to Chris after the show.

MMA50, I had this really long response to your post but lost it by pushing the wrong button somehow. Have you ever done that...it's so frustrating.  Just as well, I probably would have gotten myself in trouble again in Chrisville.

Des thought Brooks could be the one since the first date and loved him since Germany. She told him she loved him and he was the only one she could say that to. If he had gotten down on one knee and proposed to her in Madeira she would have said yes. She was conflicted because when she was with the other guys it was him she wanted to be with him. Those were her words. She loved Brooks and wanted him but he wasn't "at the finish line". She then chose Chris.

Lots of people are in love with people that don't love them back. That was Des.... then she went with Chris. Chris and Des seem happy, may very well get married and have a dozen kids. That doesn't change the fact that she loved Brooks and he was the one that she wanted. To pretend that she didn't love him is actually a disservice to her because she was honest when she said she loved him.

The conspiracy theory of Brooks being a plant is getting old. The break up was tragic and heart wrenching and true. It's over and Des is now with Chris. THE END.

PS Brooks was being kind when ATFR he said he could see how Des felt about Chris. This was a save. Brooks knew the flak Des was getting because of her quick turn around from loving Brooks and wanting to marry him to accepting Chris' proposal. He was helping her out. JMO.

 I am adding my two  cents in here.  I TOTALLY agree with Rolly.  But what we are forgetting is Chris wasn't her second choice, he was her THIRD.  Sean, Brooks and now Chris in what 9 months.  I am now reading all the other forums, since I didn't join this until about mid-August. This Chris/Des forum went from bashing Brooks to now Sean/Catherine.  WHY?  They all seem happy in what they are doing.  I'm just disappointed that we as Brooks fans do not have a clue on what he is doing anymore.  Because he doesn't want in the limelight.  Or perhaps, he is out spending all that CASH, he earned to break Desiree's heart.  JMO:handwave:

Hi Rolly.. I don't disagree with you, but my reason is that her hand was shaking at the rose ceremony with Drew and Chris. I think it's perfectly reasonable not to take this show at face value, especially after Em and Jef. I would never state my belief as a fact, but we have been told time and time again they have to have a big ending. Sean was telling his mom he couldn't decide, but now saying he would have packed his bags if Cat left. There is a ton of manipulation, however in this case, I think we got mostly truth. There are a few odd things.. like why would Des confess her love for Brooks in Madeira? Seems mighty insensitive to the guys left. Maybe like Nate, she is too honest for her own good?! Why was Chris getting the better dates? If his date came before Brooks, why wasn't Brooks getting the helicopter date? And what did Des say to Chris that was "unmentionable" in Munich? What are the "secrets" he is telling now? If she was so conflicted and saving her heart for Brooks, why was she on top of Chris on the beach? I'll stop with my questions, but IMO there was sufficient evidence for suspicion and discussion on it.

I think it's a mix. Des said she was in love with Brooks but she was clearly very happy with Chris & even wrote him poems. Who does that if they only love someone else? I also don't trust all of what we see/hear Des say because we know all about the editing & manipulation that goes on.

I doubt Brooks was just being kind. He doesn't seem the type to say it if he didn't mean it.

Having said all that, this is ancient history for all of them. Hopefully all will be happy.

I'm not bashing Des at all. She was given the most up and down roller coaster two weeks of her life and I think she did the best that she could. Honestly Des was thrown under the bus by TPTB like Brooks, Chris and Drew if you ask me. I like Des and I want for her to be happy and I hope she is.

I think there are times that people are misled/manipulated in this show but I don't think Des or Brooks misled each other. For example, I think Sean knew it was Cat before the LCD with Lindsey but sounded like even during his last date with Cat that he hadn't made up his mind. I think there were times Des made it seem like she was interested in someone when she wasn't all that much. I don't think she did that with Brooks.

I'm sure there are lots of behind the scenes things we didn't see. Maybe there was more with Chris than the camera showed but maybe there was also more with Brooks too. JMO but I think she was being honest about how she felt about Brooks, in hindsight maybe too honest now seeing it on film, but still honest.

I think TPTB also had to spread the love around too. Could they really give Brooks all the good dates especially since Des was pretty clear early on how she felt about him? I honestly think that's why Brooks didn't get the rose after the dodge ball game. I think she may have wanted to give it to him but couldn't. (JMO) You have to leave some intrigue no matter how strong her feelings were. I think in Antigua Des was going to give each of the final three all she had and give them each a final opportunity to explore their relationship. And it was after her dates with Chris and Drew that she said she would accept if Brooks got down on one knee. I'm not saying she didn't have feelings for Chris and Drew. I just think she had stronger feelings for Brooks and she said as much.

Des and the last five guys were the best...I liked them all. They are all nice, funny, attractive people. Believe me, I haven't felt that way about any other season I've watched (flashback Tiara and the girl Ben picked...I'm blocking her name...) Because I think Brooks was Des' F1 doesn't mean I think less of Chris or Drew and I don't think I've bashed them or Des.

Everybody has a right to their opinion about what happened. There is certainly more to this story than we'll ever know. Maybe someday they'll write a book!

I was answering Karen in the first part of my post about Chris being her third choice, and people bashing Brooks or Sean. It was sarcastic and a useless point anyhow.

I have no problem with your POV and mostly I agree with you.. my only point was that it was reasonable to take a closer look at it. There were a lot of odd things that didn't quite make sense in her season. :greenman:
