I bet they are announcing Bachelor early because TPTB most likely know that half of America are going to think poorly of Des for taking Brooks back. I usually always become bigger fans of the lead Bachelorettes (yup, even Emily) and while I like Des "fine," I care way more about Chris' happiness. The last time that I felt this way was about Jason Mesnick and I just couldn't believe that Deanna would take him to F2 knowing that he was a father with boy at home.

So, I fully expect to see Chris be his wonderful self to Des all episode only to be cast aside for Brooks at the end. So the only, only thing that will appease fans is to see him be the next Bachelor, which is why they are announcing early. It will also show that Chris accepts Des' love for Brooks (and we have seen/heard Chris acknowledge their bond).

TPTB might be thinking .. if Chris can accept that Des & Brooks are together, fans may be more willing to accept it too (and forgive Des for breaking Chris' heart since he's next Bachelor).

You have more faith than me....still think ABC cares too much about $$$$ and not enough about the contestants to care about any public backlash if Des allows Brooks back, just my opinion

It's not about Des IMO, though it will help her too. They are done with her. It's about cashing in on the heartbreak we are about to feel for Chris.

Sorry for the confusion. I have been around the boards a long time but Kasha and others have been around even longer. Love has never been wrong but she hasn't always been given a spoiler in advance. The spoiler that comes just days before FRC hasn't ever been wrong. That's what I mean when I said with this latest spoiler... just the timing of it and the messenger.

With that said, WHY would they be shooting Chris so soon? Being that he is said not to be the F1, they already have footage of a broken heart. All the guys have intro videos... no, they aren't shown but they are there. There is plenty of time to do photo shoots with Chris. We are a month away from filming of next bachelor. If they are shooting anything with Chris... ESP in Seattle and in VERY PUBLIC places... don't you think they are prepared for tweets getting out? Of course they have brought roses along! It is TB after all. For me, and only for me... the fact that Chris was handing out roses in Seattle tells me nada. It's the late spoilers that convinced me. THAT IS THE ONLY THING because nothing and I do mean nothing else adds up. I don't care how it's spun...Brooks is not in love with Dez and it will be apparent months down the road when the cameras have shut down. (IMO) And I hate that cause Dez was/is my girl!

Hi all!!  Just wanted to say I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of weeks now, ever since Des's crazy season got me genuinely confused for the first time. Been a fan of Bach/ette for a long time now, and this is the most investigating I've ever done, and when I say investigating, I mean reading all the wonderful, insightful posts y'all put out here.

I've been a fan of Chris's ever since the rooftop, and a full-fledged Chrisville inhabitant ever since he grabbed the heels.  

I've considered posting in here more than once, but more often than not, one of you already took the words out of my mouth!!

But just wanted to throw it out there that I think Chris can still be named TB despite no time for audience reaction because I believe this finale will have one of the highest ratings ever.

Part 1 of the season finale gave them enormous ratings, especially for, let's face it, Des's lackluster season. I can almost guarantee that Part 2 will get even MORE ratings. People who have never watched the show before are buzzing about it. (I work for an entertainment news company and lemme tell ya... it's watercooler talk for sure. I know a couple of people who have watched Part 1 just so they're ready for Part 2) All this talk of "most dramatic season finale" finally measured up for the first time, and people are really noticing.

Announcing next Bachelor with all those (most importantly the newer ones too!) viewers will hopefully hook them and keep them interested for next season. If Chris has his heart broken as per the spoilers,   it's truly the best time to cash in. All that screentime in Part 2 is enough audition for TB for anyone, but especially for a great-looking gentleman like him!!!

I've been reading your sleuthing and have definitely remained hopeful HRH Prince Siegfried gets the chance to be the knight in shining armor for Des, but at the end of the day, I do think he deserves more.

What better than 25 girls who are all about him? (Or at least a handful of good ones )

If Chris is not F1, he absolutely has a huge chance to be TB, as long as he accepts it!

Anyways, thanks for holding me over in these long last few weeks with all these new details y'all are digging up! It's given me such a new (weirdly enough.....) appreciation for this show's editing!

I agree 100 percent with bolded as a longtime viewer and board lurker/poster.

My thought about taping Chris in Seattle handing out roses is that TPTB could be planning to do an online contest of some sort to pick the next Bachelor and maybe that's what they are actually announcing during ATFR. But still think that Chris is next Bachelor.
