OMG, LLiza! My daughter and I were screaming at the t.v. on Monday night when Des said she'd never been to the Caribbean!! What about St. Croix?!? Did she really not realize when she spent from sunrise to sunset on St. Croix that she was looking at the Caribbean Sea?!?
As you can tell from my screen name, I love St. Croix so enjoy seeing your info pop up every time you post. We visit for a couple of weeks every year....love, love, love the people and the place.

In a word... NO. I'm not a fan of his per se, but he's my favorite out of the last 3 guys. This isn't about "winning" for me. Des clearly fell for Brooks.. period. She likes and admires Chris but she just doesn't have the kind of feelings for him that he has for her, so her choosing him at this point wouldn't be for the right reasons. Then I'd call it leading him on. Up to now, all of their interactions are part and parcel with doing the show, a necessary evil when you sign up for the show... but to choose him when she's in love with another man (that doesn't change in 1 week, not even on a show like this ) would cause so much hurt later, better to end it all now. Even if she did end up dating Chris later, at least he'd never have to wonder if he was second choice, which is what he'd be now... especially after him watching the episode the other night OUCH
thanks NV...some of us Chris renegades actually think he is too good for Des . I personally think he better get heartbroken in the end of this and then following Chris Lambton's footsteps in career and love department. But recent evidences pointing him as the F1...OTOH its too late it seems for him to run far away from Des and this franchise. So..as you can prolly tell.....we are so conflicted!!... . We sure dont want our precious boy being called as sloppy second, default F1 and other horrible descriptions . He definitely doesnt deserved all of the craps. He does nothing wrong except being adorable, honest, genuine, expressive, protective and loving toward Des throughout the season.

Yes but what does one call Chris if he was loved less than Brooks no matter all his fine qualities and chosen simply because Brooks left? What euphemisms do come up with? It's not crap, it's the truth! The truth that Des chose to expose because of her love for another. Des even said she puts her feelings for Brooks in a separate category from, the other two. But I can certainly understand your conflict. I wouldn't want to be in Chris' shoes even if I won the Bachelorette.

Bad publicity for the Verandah in my opinion. All the rooms were so small and didn't look luxurious at all. Chris' outdoor space and hot tub were nice but the 'suite' that Drew had was bare bones.
I moved down there in 1998 to help set up a non profit. The Verandah is nice especially the grounds but is known as being a family friendly place more than a luxury resort. There are about four other resorts down there that would have been a better choice. I was kind of surprised. I never stayed there but did attend meetings. Nice but not exotic like usual.
Thanks, Swissmiss, for the info. I am not surprised. The very nicest resorts are most likely unwilling to close down so much of their facility just to film a TV game show. The amount of turmoil it takes just to film the town scenes (and manufacture parades and concerts) is not welcome to those who either reside or vacation there. I highly doubt that MF pays the resorts enough to cover closing down their rooms and property for several days. Did you notice any people hanging around/vacationing in the scenes last night?? Looked like a ghost town to me!! LOL
I had mentioned it before, but will bring it up again.
In the past, the franchise has utilized the Rosewood group which has a lot of international hotels/resorts. There is a Rosewood resort in Antigua. I do not know why they were not utilized this time around. it is a beautiful resort.
In the past, the franchise is basically comped for stays, tours, meals etc--just about anything you can think of in terms of services.(limos, airfare) So the cost of production of this show is basically ZILCH. In return, the people offering the freebies get credit and advertisement which is proves to be lucrative for them.
Hope this helps.
Oh one more thing: in the past for fantasy suite a fee of 550$/night would have been a pittance, even though that might not be our budget. I'm thinking Jason's season some of those locals were in the thousands a night. Again, the places are comped so it's not an issue to TPTB.
No good deed goes unpunished.

Kasha, I have read and re-read your response -- many times -- but I don't understand why you think, in light of the lack of financial risk for TPTB, they couldn't find a nicer place to accommodate their filming. While the financial costs for the resort may be inconsequential, I find it tough to believe that the goodwill risks to the vacationers and local alike are worth it. I know that the residents are not happy at all when their lives are turned upside down for a few days for a silly tv show. I've been in that situation. Worse yet is the vacation experience for those who have saved for a great trip, only to be restricted by the crew and "actors".
Where does your info fit in?? I'm not trying to be snarky...I truly don't understand, and I'd like to know!!

Cker wrote:GuardianAngel wrote:Hi All - Sorry for butting in here. I have not been keeping up with all the posts from this season at all, and I'm sure its been discussed, but I have a couple of questions.
Has it been sleuthed, proof by way of s/caps that Brooks physically comes back. Was the AFRC a live audience?
One of the posts in this thread, I apologize I can't remember who, said it reminded them of Jason letting Molly go. I was thinking the same thing. She lets Chris and Drew go, the show ends with her choosing no one, then we go to the AFRC and Drew comes back, begging for a 2nd chance?
Forgive me if this has been hashed and rehashed.Hi GA!! Nice to see you. There haven't been any screencaps about Brooks coming back just as there are no screenaps for MTP. The finale/ATFR is a live audience. They audience will be watching the finale live with the east coast showing, then the AFTR after. They did this for Sean's finale last year I believe. As far as your speculation on what may happen on ATFR, I haven't the slightest idea about that one.
Hi Cker - The reason I asked about the live audience is because, for Jason's season, they didn't have a live audience, and it was taped a few days before the ATFR aired. I know they like to recycle scripts, and this season reminds me of Jason, but reversed. If there aren't any s/caps of Brooks return or MTP, then I'm thinking she chooses no one but in the meantime Brooks decides he wants to give it a try and shows up on the ATFR.
My sleuthing skills are rusty, but I thought they always taped the ATFR the Friday before airing. We'd stay up for hours waiting for scoups. If RS doesn't know what happens, and there are no spoilers to be found on the outcome of Part1/2, then I'm suspecting, this all goes down on the ATFR, pure speculation on my part.

I didn't see any humiliation cause one thing he didn't do a good job of telling her he didn't love her. He was fumble all over it. He didn't convince me. I really couldn't tell what it was he wanted to say.
I saw the same thing. I feel he was edited in both the meeting with his mom and sis and with ch. At least that is the way I'm looking at it. He said so many sweet things about it. I wonder if they were having an overall conversation because he was having a bit of cold feet and wanting to ask her to marry him and they cut out some parts there and left in only the parts where he was questioning himself to make it look like he wasn't ready for this.

JMHO but if I had been saying I am head over heels in love and he came to me and said I'm not feeling it I would have preferred to do my ugly cry in privacy. I had a hard time watching her. I totally agree his "breakup" speech was a train wreck. He sure did fumble his words and too many sentence fragments. I think between nerves and camera it was too much for him. This guy has got to go out in public and also back to work. The meltdown he had is all over the news today. I can't imagine either of them not feeling humiliated or at minimum embarrassed for a very uncomfortable and public emotional matter. My hearing is not great but I missed many of his words as he mumbled. The producers might have thought they hit gold with the drama but I am not looking forward to next Monday. I found it sad. I probably will not watch and just read the news Tuesday morning. I don't see any scenario where this ends well. I am not a huge fan of any of the three guys but feel for them as well as Des. I think they got more than they signed up for. JMHO
MO she can pour her heart out on tv or in private, she doesn't have to live for nobody but Des. If she hasn't learn this already she better.
I don't disagree but I also wonder how much of what we saw was a product of TV production for ratings. I doubt once Brooks dropped the bomb if she could just tell the cameraman to stop I want my privacy. Until her contract is over I have a strong feeling she has little control over her own life regarding privacy. After next Monday she will be free and I hope go into hiding even if it is good news. The press is cruel. Never could understand Sean doing DWTS. Wanted more fame. She seems to be more grounded and much smarter. I do hope she can have some privacy. Not a fun journey.

I have only been there for meetings and a few dinners. One of my colleagues rented a "suite" and to be honest it was nothing special. They have only a few rooms which are considered luxury. Perhaps they were already rented. Some book up to a year in advance and are loyal customers. The Verandah might not have wanted to bump them. As far as why they did not use one of the other resorts I simply don't know. Having lived there I will say that many well known celebrities either vacation there or rehab there. The five star resorts might not want to be associated with reality TV and trust me they don't need the freebies or publicity. The class they cater too don't like to be inconvenienced and value their privacy. Just a thought.
Not sure if it is a huge deal as the time shot in the room was limited. The grounds are beautiful and so far that is where the action has been.

If he was just questioning his feelings he sure brought her down to major tears for nothing. She also was fairly mad as if she had been dumped. Why leave if it was simple cold feet? At least hash it out on their date and FS in private.

Ok..have not posted much nor watched this series much, but, and this may have been put out there already, on Des and Brooks first date they are on the sitting on the Hollywood sign pretty much like Frank and Ali. I am still so confused about this ending...thanks MF.
