And since this is still the FD episode thread, has it been brought up at all how unimpressive the fantasy suites really were?!? Bad publicity for the Verandah in my opinion. All the rooms were so small and didn't look luxurious at all. Chris' outdoor space and hot tub were nice but the 'suite' that Drew had was bare bones.

There have been plenty of red flags throughout the season as well. His body language, the conversation where she is "running" and he "isn't there".
Brooks is simply NOT as into Desiree and Desiree is into Brooks. It is what it is no matter how TPTB or fans want to spin it. The guy likes her, he respects her, but he doesn't love her.
IMO ring or no ring, rehab or no rehab, proposal or no proposal, this is not then next Trista and Ryan season. Even if by some producer manipulation Brooks proposes my bet is by the time we are looking at a new bachelor this relationship is a bad memory.
You have perfectly stated what I think. I hope for everyone's sake he doesn't return, but if he does, which they hint at, she turns him down. He needs time to himself to deal with all this and not bring this kind of unhappy, unneccesary drama into the beginning of a new life together.

Many have complimented Brooks on how honest and honorable he was last nite when he admitted his feelings (or non-feelings to Des). I have to agree that it was the right thing for him to do. He clearly wanted out of the situation, as even CH couldn't bring him around to continuing on. And you know he had to be trying.
If he gets manhandled by production to reconsider and proposes to Des, she'll be going thru heartache again in short order. No one wants that for her or Brooks.

pinkflowers31 wrote:I just read a bunch of different interviews with past bachelor/bachelorettes of this show. Of course they were before last nights show was on. But Ali said it was going to be Chris. Ashley and JP also thought it was Chris, and so did Ryan Sutter. I also read that Chris was Catherine's pick as well. Not sure who else, but so far, that's what I've come across. They all see something between them. Makes you wonder, that's for sure. I still have a feeling it could be Chris, and that's not a bad thing imo.
thanks pinkflowers!! from Chrisville to you....
btw do you know that Chris was also riding the famous SeanCat's pig at Pikes Place Market?

[quote="GuardianAngel"]Hi All - Sorry for butting in here. I have not been keeping up with all the posts from this season at all, and I'm sure its been discussed, but I have a couple of questions.
Has it been sleuthed, proof by way of s/caps that Brooks physically comes back. Was the AFRC a live audience?
One of the posts in this thread, I apologize I can't remember who, said it reminded them of Jason letting Molly go. I was thinking the same thing. She lets Chris and Drew go, the show ends with her choosing no one, then we go to the AFRC and Drew comes back, begging for a 2nd chance?
Forgive me if this has been hashed and rehashed.

Hi GA!! Nice to see you. :) There haven't been any screencaps about Brooks coming back just as there are no screenaps for MTP. The finale/ATFR is a live audience. They audience will be watching the finale live with the east coast showing, then the AFTR after. They did this for Sean's finale last year I believe. As far as your speculation on what may happen on ATFR, I haven't the slightest idea about that one.

The concept of "red flags" is comical to me at this point. There always WERE red flags with Brooks -- even from date #1 -- but there were many here who were just like Desiree and refused to see them. Many of us pointed them out, only to be ridiculed by the Brooks-lovers. Why be so surprised-shocked-disappointed after last night??
I also don't consider it honorable that he "came clean" with Des last night -- did you see the look on his face when Chris H. told him that he needed to talk to her?? He didn't even do it like a man -- he let Des coax it out of him. And even then, he rambled and let her carry the conversation. The meeting with Chris H. was brutal -- CH had to lead that discussion as well. Brooks would have been crouching down in a corner somewhere if CH and Des had not forced him to comeout clean.
Someone said that Des was too much woman for Drew....I say that Brooks is not enough man for Des!

I'm wondering if they regretted not capitalizing on the drama when Graham wanted to leave and this is the result. I've always thought this season was a cross between DeAnna's & Ali's. Both of them are happy with guys not from their season so there's hope for Des. For that matter all of the previous Bachelorettes are either married or in a happy relationship.

I moved down there in 1998 to help set up a non profit. The Verandah is nice especially the grounds but is known as being a family friendly place more than a luxury resort. There are about four other resorts down there that would have been a better choice. I was kind of surprised. I never stayed there but did attend meetings. Nice but not exotic like usual. It is one of the newer ones so perhaps that is the reason?

Thanks, Swissmiss, for the info. I am not surprised. The very nicest resorts are most likely unwilling to close down so much of their facility just to film a TV game show. The amount of turmoil it takes just to film the town scenes (and manufacture parades and concerts) is not welcome to those who either reside or vacation there. I highly doubt that MF pays the resorts enough to cover closing down their rooms and property for several days. Did you notice any people hanging around/vacationing in the scenes last night?? Looked like a ghost town to me!! LOL

ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING I NOTICED!!
When Brooks says that about wishing she loved Drew or Chris, it was in a VO, or sounded very edited. You never saw him saying those words.
I had to go back and watch again cause I could've swore you saw his mouth say those words but you are right we don't see it!! What I did notice while rewatching was the last thing he says while standing there crying after Des walks off, is bleeped out, so I just assumed he said a cuss word but it's more like a short sentence or phrase is bleeped out, like maybe he said I've f'd up! And at that point he is really second quessing himself. Also when he is walking back up the hill and we hear him talking in a VO his statement is TOTALLY SPLICED AND DICED!! He says "I don't know if I've ever had a realtionship where it's "DA" said goodbye has been this difficult". You can 100% hear that those two things were said at different times or put together by the producers.
There is a lot of splicing and dicing. I didn't notice it until I watched the parts again, by myself, with no one else talking.

It is not cheap to stay on the island. Even the Verandah I think is around $550/night. I am sure you are right they got a rate to rent the entire place. What struck me is no wait staff was in sight. Wonder if they even got room service or Kraft food Services? Hubby was watching with me last night and said he sure would not want to pay that much for a vacation to have all that drama. The land was undeveloped until about seven years ago perhaps. It almost did not get built since locals were not happy. I was back in the states by then. Luckily I have friends to stay with. More my price. Smiley:
