Drew said on his instagram it's complications from birth due to lack of oxygen that caused Melissa's condition.
I stalked sleuthed on his dad's facebook and looks like they had a viewing party last night. (I kind of feel bad looking through some total stranger's fb:Embarressed!: , but he probably should have set it "private", IMO) His family had "Team Drew" t -shirt on but he didn't wear it. Maybe it's my imagination or he was serious or it was just that moment, but Drew didn't smile and even kind of pensive/sad. It probably brings back some bitter sweet memory for him. I will be sad to see him leave!

I thought Drew had the most awesome HTD... he really put himself out there in every way and while Des seemed very natural and happy when they were together, I was so dissappointed that it didn't translate into any mention of love from her.  Drew is clearly not the man for Des.

I've noticed that with Drew her body says one thing but then in interviews her words say something else.

If Des offered Drew the rose at the F3 RC and then he questioned her on one of their dates leaving her upset with his questioning. That is why she doesn't mention him anywhere. Which would be really two faced of her considering that she decided to continue to date the guys all the while in love with another.

Per your bolded comment, I think that's why I was so disappointed.  I mean she's clearly attracted, she obviously admires him and by all measures they had a terrific hometown date... but somehow it does not translate into love.  

My husband and mother thought she might be backing off because of Drew's sister, specifically she might be concerned that Drew might carry this ‘handicap’ gene.... not out of the realm of possibility, I suppose.

Not sure what you mean in your second point... when you say she doesn't mention him anywhere.  Are you talking about in show? post show?

Yeah, they are.  I knew that from reading his sister's blog.  She's so awesome and has the cutest kids on the planet!

ok, now I get it... and yeah, just saying how kind and nice he is must really turn the knife for Drew.  She's really dug herself a big one since she has acknowledged early on and in front of america when she knew Brooks was the one.  It reminds me of DeAnna's season where Jeremy was harping on "when did you know" since they had obviously just slept together in the fantasy suite.  The same logic must apply here.  She took 2 men to the fantasy suite, both of whom said they love her while she was in love with someone else....  OMG, bring on the backlash... for sure it's gonna hit the fan!!!

ETA: I've been focused on Chris and Drew... but you know what, it's really going to suck for Brooks too!

I also thought the deleted scene at the end was adorable - with the quiz.  She thought he looked like a pancake guy and he says "what does that even mean"?

Thank goodness they showed the credits with Des and Drew. We have been robbed of so many of their moments during filming and they seemed like a real couple.  

I have to say that this was a little extra nugget that was quite charming. That quiz they took about each other with Drew's family was really cute. I do think that so much has been left on the cutting room floor with them.

Yes but I can't remember if it was in print or in a vid. I think it was in response to a question ? Someone else may remember.

Regarding both of your comments in bold, that's what I was thinking. I did notice that there was no mention by Des of having any love or real feelings for Drew. Contrast that with hearing her again declare her love for Brooks and also having feelings for Chris and it's even more obvious.

Regarding the second comment in bold, that is exactly what I noticed especially last night. Her body language with Drew has been off the charts but her words are quite different.

I am not looking forward to seeing this all play out. I don't think Des is in a position to be upset with any of the other two guys after stating in this episode and the previous one that she loves Brooks. I wonder how the other three guys are feeling watching this now.
