Just wanted to give a heads up to Canadians that you can vote for one of three women to be on the next Bachelor Canada at bachelorcanada.ca. It starts today. None of them stand out to me, but it will be interesting to see what happens.

That's interesting. I'm not voting, but it will be interesting to see what comes of it. Does anyone know if people in Canada are able to view the US Juan Pablo season online? Seems like they are promoting it a lot on their site. I wonder if they will let US viewers see the Canada version online. Thanks!

RS doesn't seem to think that Clare will show the DVD to Juan Pablo.

If I was Clare I would watch the DVD by myself first, so that I knew what my dad was looking for in a husband for me while I was dating. Because what if she gets engaged, he watches the DVD, realizes he’s not a good fit for the family and dumps her. Then the DVD will be tainted for the next guy.

Realistically, none of this probably matters because it’s probably the same old stuff that every parents says, “Love her, take care of her”. But I would just want to know. It seems silly to wait until you’re engaged to see if you’re right for a person.

Actually, it’s probably more of a “congratulations, welcome to the family” thing than a “are you the right person” thing. But still. Even though I don’t really like her, I will be so sad if she gives it to the wrong person (Juan Pablo).

Speaking of JP, I would be so annoyed if I had to call my husband by two names all the time. It’s so formal. I guess they’d give him a nickname, but so far they’ve all referred to him as the full Juan Pablo every time. Weird.

Comment: The more I read Clare’s interview, the more I heard her talk about the DVD to JP in Miami, and then seeing that deleted scene, the more I think she doesn’t show him the DVD this season. It just doesn’t make sense. That thing means too much to her. And as crazy as some may think she is, letting him see that would basically be an insult to her deceased father. She said it was for her husband someday. Would she really show it someone JUST to get them to propose? I don’t see it.

Well, knowing something about the storytelling/editing process behind the show, the DVD is going to factor into her basic story -- it earned 5-6 minutes of screen time as a subplot. That plot will be resolved -- maybe her family refuses to give it up for exploitation in this setting, and that's a conflict between her and her family. She wants to show it, they say absolutely not. So, JP hears how much she loves him (she WOULD show it to him), but not over her family's virulent, appropriate objections? We haven't heard the last of it. If she were the bachelorette, they would leave the disk out of this season. But she isn't.

If she is F1, maybe they show it at the Most Emotional ATFR ever.

But one way or the other, we haven't heard the last of or about it. OTherwise, all that talk would be on the cutting room floor.

I listened again-- not sure. It almost sounds like he's referring to what supposedly happens during FD. I find it interesting that he mentions Sean and Catherine = fairytale and implies this season is the opposite.
