If we don`t like the lead we skip the season. It won`t be the first time any of us have. I barely watched half an episode of Bens season. He did not interest me and neither did the girls on his season.
I liked Ben going in (still do even though I hated him picking Courtney) and loved the girls that season. I usually do watch every season even when I don't like the lead but have never had anyone I couldn't stand going in. I'm used to not finding the guys attractive but Zak would really be a stretch for me. I get it if they don't pick Drew because he's not outgoing enough but I'd really enjoy watching him on my (big screen, hd) tv. I could go along with Chris even though I find him a bit too introverted.
I don't usually find the lead the most attractive, either, though they're not totally unattractive. But at least I can see how he would be attractive to other women, and how the ladies in the house would end up thinking he's the bee's knees and fight over him. I just don't think Zac would make a good lead to fight over. I can't see them coming up to the mansion and saying "Oh, look at him! He's gorgeous!" I think the reaction might be different.
I'd love to see Drew as the next Bachelor, but he might be too straight-laced. I could handle Chris, although he has a dorky side and is more introverted. I wish that Des didn't pick Brooks and then we could see him on a whole season. If you think about it, he'd be the perfect fit because he would get his heart broken if she doesn't pick him and it'd break peeps' hearts (or if she breaks up with him post-show); and many girls absolutely  over him.
This is getting plain ridiculous.... You guys act as if he was some monstrosity! He is perfectly good-looking guy(he may be not attractive to you, but in general perception HE IS a handsome man) and if you would went a bit out side of this forum, you would see the kind of tweets and messages he is receiving and how many ex-Bachelor contestants tried to "contract" him....
To say he is gross, etc. is just plain rude and completely ridiculous on top of it... and no, this is not just my opinion it's a fact!
I don't think Zak is gross at all! I thought he was funny right off the bat with his Sean jab with the obsession over his stupid abs.
Thanks for your comment. I hesitated, but you expressed my thought exactly, but then again I think Zak is attractive and has become more attractive overall. I think Brooks is also attractive, not as much as some, but I would never pick Brooks apart the way some have done to Zak.
Well, Brooks is actually attractive.
Not to everyone...
I'm having a hard time seeing any of the guys this season as the next lead, but if I had to guess, they will go with Drew. Although Zak would be my choice from the last 4 guys.
I changed my post as you were posting.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks Zak is very attractive and has a lot to offer. Honestly, early in the season I would have said I preferred Drew as next lead but they have shown us absolutely nothing of his personality. I'm worried there was nothing to show. On the other hand they've shown many endearing moments with Zak. He's very romantic.

I can't imagine the powers-that-be would ever ask Jef to be the Bachelor. They want someone people root for, and whether or not you liked Jef during the season (I, personally, loathed him, and I will freely admit that), a lot of his own fan base lost their love for him post-season. Many of the chosen Bachelors are guys the producers want their female audience to have sympathy for and relate to, while still finding the lead hot. Too many people won't have sympathy for Jef. (True, they did ask Brad W back, and he wasn't particularly "sympathetic," but that played into a type of reboot for the franchise.)
I'd be on board an Arie season, but I think that ship has sailed, in terms of whether or not production is interested. I'd even be on board a Jef/Arie season, which would be another way to reboot the franchise, and would probably do very well in the ratings, only because it's a unique spin that this show desperately needs. But...I don't think they'd do that either.
Funny about Zak...I found him really unappealing in the early episodes, but I agree that his personality has shined, and I've come to really like him, and I'd probably watch his season. Chris and Drew haven't been given particularly interesting edits, but who knows what's been left on the cutting room floor.

Ya know, continuing with what I was just saying, and thinking about the options, now I see that Jef may be one of the only options available.
Jef does not have a job. If he wants the gig, Papa Monte is going to have to buy him into some business enterprise quickly. The other problem, that may be insurmountable, is that TPTB could not muzzle his desire to spoil the show. It started with the post FRC "honeymoon" photos and continued on and on. I dont understand how they could possibly trust him again, if they really do not want everything spoiled.
Based just on what I saw, I'm even inclined to believe RS on this one...the producers cannot stand Jef and would not have him back.
IMHO, he's an entitled rich kid who has never had to WORK for a thing...he "dabbles" until his interest, or talent in the area wanes and then is off to the next thing, funded by his dad. Add to that his penchant for underage girls and I doubt MF would touch him with a ten foot pole.

I did, but that's because of his association with Emily and how it turned out in the end on the show, and after the show. I haven't followed him much since.

I think Kimmel should cast Jef as the next Baby Bachelor. That'd be closer to his target demographic. /sarcasm
I guess I could see Drew. I mean, they cast Jake... and Andy... and Sean. All objectively good looking guys - just missing one thing that some might consider to be a BFOQ for The Bachelor. I'll stop there...

Yeah, Brooks would be the best next Bachelor. The End.

ITA with this. Brooks would be a GREAT bachelor, but I think he might be taken. My fav choices for Bachelor (not certain if any of them are in relationships and even available) would be Reid, Roberto, Jef, Arie and perhaps Zak! Good grief...if TPTB could hire the pathetic Ben F as Bachelor, (he was so awful I could not even bring myself to care to watch his season), and Lorenzo....they could certainly do better with Zak. At least Zak seems handsome to me, and to have a great sense of humour, not to mention an actual personality. He is growing on me. I also do like Drew's chiselled jaw.....and Chris seems quite nice, but did make me really uncomfortable with the forced dancing and prancing in the square last episode. Anyway my choices would be Reid and Roberto ....(if not Brooks)! Thanks

sushifan wrote:Steve Jobs was an entrepreneur. Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey are entrepreneurs. Hell, Brad Womack is an entrepreneur. Jef Holm is a little rich kid playing with daddy's money. Big difference.
Honestly, I'm not sure who out of this crop of guys I'd pick for the next Bach. Most of them come off as pretty effeminate. I'm not sure some of them could handle one woman, let alone 25.
I think Fleiss should have cast Sarah Herron this season. She would have been more interesting, and as her blogs show, she's funny as hell. Des is super sweet and super produced. Combined with this bunch of effete suitors, it just hasn't made for compelling TV. And I'm a die-hard fan. I think they need to switch things up or risk further ratings decline/cancellation.
Back to my cave now.
WB and so glad to see you!!:WAVEY:
Also re your post:
Miss you and you're "in the knows".

i think juan pablo should be the next bach. he is the total package: hot, former professional soccer player, sexy latin guy with an accent, has an adorable daughter and he seems really fun from the little we've seen of him. of course they won't pick him because he's "too foreign", altho he was born in the US. did i say he's hot? :atomic:
