Sorry, ironcat, I beg to differ with you. I think he would have been a terror as Bachelor, wanting everything his way. He is entirely too snarky and I can't see a lot of gals vying for his affections. JMHO.

Oh, I don't doubt that James' arrogance would make him a nightmare to work with for the producers if he was the lead, which is another reason I doubt he was EVER given consideration for the role in their eyes, particularly with so many other more suitable guys. (I recall hearing from CH that Jake was much the same way, which is why, despite the stellar ratings his season got, he is now viewed by the producers as a joke/punchline.) I guess what I'm trying to say is that I just don't see it as some sort of sign of James' superior insight, character and integrity that would probably make him more difficult to manipulate than other past or potential leads. Like Jake, I suspect he's just not a particularly likeable person.
