goodness gracious... didn't anyone read Cinderella? well here is the story...
our princess is forced to live under the mean old step-mothers rules (MF for those who are following along) and do
many, many days and nights go by and all princess Des has with her prince charming Cooks is stolen moments at rose ceremonies, or group dates. she tries to stay close to him whenever possible. they exchange secret glances, smiles and much laughter and lots of kisses. at last they are granted another play-date, and our princess Des is excited to get her hands on Cooks again. they drive up to the mountain top and play among the clouds. prince Cooks says that this was the best date ever, and that he and princess Des are reaching an understanding... the clouds parted and they stood together on that rock and declared to the world that they were on cloud nine. that night at dinner, princess Des gives Cooks the words to help him see where she is in the relationship (she's not supposed to tell per the evil step-mothers instructions) and she says she is running, not exactly where Cooks sees himself, but close. prince Cooks decides to take princes Des home with him to meet his family, and she has a blast with this huge jubilant group. they welcome her to their home, they tease and laugh with her, and Cooks comes to the conclusion that things look pretty good and they are on the same page with the relationship. wow, he can actually see them closer to the U of marriage than he has ever seen before.
then somehow the evil step-mother, MF and the evil step-sister, CH try to muddy up the 'Brooks'. they are spreading rumors that Cooks is not ready for love, that he breaks princes Des' heart into a million pieces, and that within 3 or 4 days she forgets all about prince Cooks and chooses another to pledge her undying love. the evil step-mother is trying to say that princes Des does not deserve love, at least not from her chosen one, prince Cooks.
hmmmmmm... in my story of Cinderella, the prince realizes that he loves this woman, he must find her and declare his love, he must fit this slipper on her foot (well in our case the ring on her finger). prince charming wins the day! prince Cooks and princess Des have fulfilled their obligations to the evil step-mother and they ride off together exclaiming to the world that things don't always come together wrapped tightly and securely in a package with a pretty bow. sometimes the biggest gift of love is knowing that you can love thru the valleys and not just on the mountain tops. sometimes the gift of forgiveness for mistakes and miss-steps enriches you both. sometimes the heart just knows what it wants regardless.

our princess is forced to live under the mean old step-mothers rules (MF for those who are following along) and dohis, whoops meant to say her bidding. finally princes Des gets a chance to go to the ball with her prince charming (one of her last f3 who shall remain nameless but his name sounds like cooks), and they play all day... they play married couple, they play friends getting to know each other, they play confidants when he opens up to her. she is smitten with this man, he is witty, sarcastic, keeps her laughing and is easy to kiss... he dances her around the play-yard and she says over and over how this was the "best first date ever!" sadly princess Des must leave this charmer and do her evil step-mothers bidding, she has other people to meet, friendships to form... but the prince charming, Cooks, remains in her mind. so much so that when her step-sister Chris Harrison asks about her journey so far, all he has to do is mention Cooks name, and she gets flustered and teary eyed and says that she is falling for him. then the evil step-brother says... well, what about all the other guys, and she says yes, they are a good group of guys, she can see marriage potential in most of them.

Yes it will, so we will have to hang out in the fan thread and try not to respond on the other threads. I will be hard to watch Brooks and Des be so heart broken. Then we have to wait a whole week to get our happy ending.

I think some are forgetting that Brooks doesn't know how strong Desiree's feelings are for him and as much as he is trying to figure out his own given the expectation if he if her choice, he's also trying to figure out if he can trust hers and isn't going to get his heart shattered. All her declarations of love have been for the viewers, not to him.
Sometimes I see a sweet boy who likes a girl and hopes she likes him too. I watched Madeira today and that stood out to me. When they sit for dinner she says this is one of the best days she's ever had. He kind of looks up at her as if surprised and slowly gets a shy smile. Also it is him who brings up the "where are we" talk and again when she says going into a run he seems pleasantly surprised, almost shy and blushing and can't help but smile and immediately, without hesitation, says "that's good". Also on the HTD he seemed touched that she made the list, and certain things she wrote, like him still being adorable while lying hurt on the ground, seemed to catch him off guard that she'd say that about him.
I think of some of the ways he has tried to communicate his feelings to her and they are subtle, but I feel like they meant a lot to him to say eg "It is working." And in Spain "I'm really happy this is happening". Those sentiments aren't gushy, but they are real, come from the heart and I feel he truly meant them and felt they were meaningful things to say to Des.
It will be amazing if he gets to the point where he can really pour out his heart to Desiree in an open and fearless way. I will be a puddle if that happens. I guess if we get that in the finale, it will make up for what's to come this week.

Rolly wrote::Nod: Relaxing...totally agree. There are so many ways he shows his love for her but at times he is protective because he doesn't want to get his heart broken. This is going to have a very romantic ending. If Des is engaged it could only be to Brooks and she looks very happy.
She does look particularly happy in the recent pictures. That's so great to see. I kind of hate how every season this show reduces these adorable, personable, bubbly, confident girls into sobbing messes. Happens every year though ( to Ali, Ashley, Jill). Great when we see them back to their true selves.

So stinking not true!!! Here's the definition of dumpster fire....
Dumpster Fire
1. A complete disaster.
2. Something very difficult that nobody wants to deal with.
This project is a complete dumpster fire.
