Episode 4 - 6/17 - Bachelorette 9 - Discussion - Spoilers

This seasons edit is surely a mystery. IMO they are desperately hiding the guys that she has a connection to with a whole lot of nothing. This choppy edit combined with a lead that seems to think that the only way to connect with someone is to kiss them is making it weird.
Whats with any conversations of substance ? Apparently that is not a requirement at all.

Hey - perhaps MF was right after all. It is a weird season. And we have barely reached episode 5.

Just watching the west coast feed, Brooks had an interesting moment during the GD party after Ben's time with Des. First date curse for sure!

What do you mean? Seems that Bryden is the one with the issue. Then again, she didn't spend any time with him after the group date.

Ben came back from talking with Des by the edge of the pool, and Brooks stated "I'm done" and got up and left. Thought he was playing it pretty cool, but obviously he's starting to be affected by the other guys (or maybe just some of them).

I think out of the F4, the only conversation of substance we've seen was with Brooks during his date.

Thoughts on the show tonight all IMHO:

Her date with Brad was totally awkward. The crickets were out in full force.

Chris writing and reading Des his poem reminded me of Ryan Sutter. Real men write poetry. That's going in my blog!

I loved the Hurricane Sandy date and loved, loved Manny and Jan. But I agree they gave them too much airtime. It seems like the producers cannot get the right balance this season. (My DVR said from beginning to end was 37 minutes. That's 1/3 of the show!)

Did anyone notice Kasey sitting on the couch in white shorts with his crown and sash on when Des came to pick up James? :rollingl:

I love Zak more every week. He is sweet and kind and soooo funny. He cracks me up. Reminds me of the Reidster without commitment issues. Lol. Oh, and the man can sing! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'm :hissyfit:that they did not show any Drew time. It's not looking good for his chance for the next Bach.

Chris has been getting some quality screentime both last week and this. Next week is looking good for him too. My guess is they are prepping him for the next lead.

Des is pretty transparent to me and I'm sure she is to the other guys in the house too. There is no way they can't see her absolutely beam around Brooks. We can see it in the 5 second shots we get of them twice an episode. Go back and look at her face when she gave Brooks the rose if you missed it. Compare it to when she gave Chris and Drew the rose. BIG difference.

TPTB are telling Des she has to show more interest in the other guys because they have a show to produce. One of the ways she can do that is to kiss them. It may be easier to kiss them than to try and fake interest or chemistry where there is none.

Bryden did not make her wait to accept the rose. That was all in the editing to set up the drama for next week.

Is it me or is this show completely and absolutely boring? I can hardly stand it. Ugh. Chris H. says it picks up from here. Oh joy. It can hardly get worse.

But, people sure are going overboard!  There was plenty of heavy conversation during Brad's and James' dates!

Chris and Desiree had a great conversation as well. Then Bryden's? WTH are you guys talking about?

1. I wasn't interested with Brad and Des convo cause  there was no chemistry and I said  before Brad looks like Ken but sounds like Barbie
sorry my ears just cant....

2.  Chris and Desiree had a great conversation  maybe but uhm but Murasaki will kill me for this, but they look like two giggling girls gossiping
about something I cant understand rather than two people falling in love.  That's why the friendzone thing came up, and they kissed
without any warning just to erase the F word from Chris' mouth.  But I love Chris too, he seems to be a stand up guy.. so Chris fans please dont kill me.

3.  Bryden looks like he can't wait to escape from a kidnapper rather than someone who is there cataclysmically in love with the lead.

4.  Brooks  (same case with Brad)  although instead of and Ken comparison,   Brooks looks like Tarzan but sounds like Jane.  
So even if I want to pull for Brooks,   I imagine a future where Desiree will have to the manly thing like beat up hoodlums to save Brooks' honor
because I cant see Brooks doing that for her.

5.  James could be cute, cheating story and all but he's going  be villified later and he looked like he is more interested in tweezing his eyebrows,
eating strawberries while having a foot massage than planning a future with Des and future kids.

So no, there were no good conversation in this episode as far as Im concerned.  

Just one Chris Lambton  or an  Arie with a good job and not a player,  or a Jeff with more inflection could have saved this season.  Just one would
have made a big difference.

Just watched their RC convo - as much as they can say they aren't in the friend zone, IMO, they are most definitely in the friend zone. I didn't see much "chemistry".

Bryden was having a hissy fit, because he didn't get any special attention from Desiree.

I didn't like this... It was almost as if Des was begging him to stay and then during the RC she kept looking at him as if she expected him to run out the door or something..

I know she has to have a certain number of men for the show, but she could have let Bryden go and kept Zack and what the heck was up with her and Zack?? He didn't get enough camera time for us to even see if there was a glimmer of spark between them. LOL
