That is it. Usually people watch because they really like the lead or they really like one or more of the cast. If we are lucky, we like the lead and some of the cast...this is what I felt about Sean's season. This year it seems that there is nobody who is really drawing us in. There is not even a good villian like Tierra. On top of that they are depressing the people who are tuning in with all the sob stories and traumatic events.

People may like Des, or Brooks, or Chris...but, they are not awed by anyone as in seasons past....at least so far. The passion seems gone. We have had other seasons when we knew the winner and people still championed their horse so to speak. So far I'm not really seeing any of that, although, that may change as we get down in numbers and we get to know the guys more. It usually isn't until the last 6 or so that the crazy comes out on the boards. The producers better hope or I don't think it will bode well in the long run. We shall see...

ITA, for the life of me, i also dont understand why they cast so many guys with GF at home and traumatic family background. I root for Chris bc he is just a normal guy, with happily married parents, a permanent job and good achievements in the past. thats why he is like finding waldo in early episodes where they built the stories centered on drama and sob stories. in Fleissian world, he is a boring person!... on top of that, Bryden`s date made me cringe seeing him showing his traumatic accident pics...come on....we have had our hard real life already...we need to escape from reality, here!!..

I'm going to check if the Getty images are up yet!

I will agree with the first part of your statement.
I will disagree with the second part. Who the "winner" is is a very minor part of this show, the tip of the iceberg so to say. It's the entire iceberg that is interesting and the dissecting of such.
Discussion is always a good thing. When discussion is meant with constant dissension and little respect there is no point to upset the forum.

I see a lot of awe and drooling over Brooks and I see a lot of people going gaga for Chris and Drew, too. I see lots of people loving Des and saying she's their favorite so far. The fact is that people aren't going to champion their favorite as much when they don't feel like their favorite is being attacked, like the favorites in Emily's season were. So, the fans are not going to be as rampant. The thing that is different this season is that no one seems to really be attacking the status quo of anyone. If Brooks did start getting attacked I bet you people would start coming out of the woodwork.

I appreciate Brooks' sad family background. It makes him a flawed and interesting character. It brings a depth to him. I think it's much more interesting than someone who has had the perfect family and life and ends up being a pretty shallow contestant as a result. I think most people have sob stories of some kind if they've lived at all. It's just up to the contestant whether or not they reveal them or not. And if they truly don't have much of one they might be kind of one-dimensional.

Brooks twitter love is pretty strong! And Chris has more threads than anyone else over here! Lots of fans all around for both guys. I think they are both awesome!

I personally love that there is no attacking this season! I thought that was so stupid how people acted during em's season, this is a tv show and we don't know these people at all! I like having a fav to get attached to and that would be chris this season for the several reason! I don't dislike des or brooks but they are most certainly not what will keep me drawn this season! I would never attack a poster for their opinion on a contestant nor would I feel the need to retaliate if someone posted something negative about chris simply because I wouldn't take the time out of my day to argue about a tv show! I love this board and I think love me, San, my fello chris fans, and many others are so nice and respectful and that makes posting enjoyable to me! Also there is lots left to sleuth this season(isn't that why we are here in the first place)?

and to add to your post Kasha, it's one thing to be able to acknowledge that the F1 is the chosen, but it seems that if you DON'T become a fangirl of the lead and their chosen one... you're just not welcome here and your opinion is considered blasphemous. From my point of view, this has become a fansite and not so much a board where opinions and speculation are welcome... like it was at it's inception.

Here is my 2 cents worth. I joined FORT during Deanna's season, back before the Final One was being spoiled. It was fascinating to read the forum back then....amazed with how much the sleuthers could figure out all on their own just using pictures, etc. I do believe that taking away the element of surprise is sometimes a curse, especially if you don't particularly care for the spoiled F1.

And I unfortunately fall into that category. I simply can not warm up to Brooks. I won't list the reasons why, but they are many of the same reasons that others have posted here. I am not overly impressed with ANY of the other guys from this season either, but I do at least "like" a few of them. Unfortunately I find Brooks completely unappealing, so I have already lost interest in this season.

I also think that they brought in a lot of guys who appear to be carrying a lot of emotional baggage with them and some who definitely fall into the meathead category. I already hate all the bickering that is being shown so early into the season and seeing them all ganging up on Ben is just ridiculous!! Apparently Ben is one of this season's "chosen" villians, and I am already turned off by it. Therefore, there is nothing here to hold my interest, and if Brooks is Des' choice, then I just don't care.....sad but true. Since I really don't have anything to add here, then I will occasionally just come here to lurk.
