I can sincerely say that I have never read a blog like Des' I am still trying to wrap my head around how she can be so certain she is in love with one of the guys, while carrying(leading) on with the rest, but I am totally lost on why she has to write it with such boldness in her blog. Is she that insensitive (troubling!) and self-centered -I'm happy, so good riddance! or is there something I am missing?  

My guess is that she is going to discover that she really wasn't in love with Brooks.

Why would she make a fool of herself like this in her blogs - leave alone in interviews with CH then ?

I get what you are saying here.  Last night I kept thinking about Zak, Drew and Chris - along with all of their family members - now knowing that Des had already made her mind up (prior to ever meeting any of those families) that she was in love with Brooks and had already declared it on national tv.  Then they got to hear her say last night that she would like for the season to end with a proposal from Brooks.

You can usually see the lead starting to pull back a little bit with the men that they know for certain will not be the F1.  But, Des seemed to be fully engaged with Zak, Drew and Chris and was especially charming with their famililes.  And, she was saying all the right things when questioned by their family members.  Plus she continued to "make out" with those three guys right up to the very end.  No wonder Zak felt blindsided last night.

It has to be especially hard on the families now, knowing what fate still lies ahead for both Chris and Drew, because it just can't end well for either of them.  Des made it quite clear that it is Brooks that she wants, and Chris and Drew had no idea that they never stood a chance - up until those last two episodes aired.

I have to wonder if others (like Ashley or Ben) declared their love earlier. The question is why they chose to show it to us. I think it is because the rest of the season will be "does Des get the guy she wants?".

I don't get it. She can see her life with any of three men left yet she's 100 percent in love (assuming with one of them and she's told us that man is Brooks). So how can she see her life with all three if she is only in love with one?

And ... as a Chris fan ... what about this line: It felt great to know where my relationship stood with Chris and that made me hopeful for the rest of the journey.

What the heck does that mean after the fact? She knows Chris loves her so if things don't work out with the guy she really loves (Brooks), he'll be there as her safety net. Or, does hopeful mean that she is hoping things progress with him???

I think she's just saying it. She has to pretend that the possibility is still there for the others when it really is not.

If you are "pretending that the possibility is still there for the others," then you don't announce to the camera that you are 100% in love with Brooks. Not a cool thing to do, Des.

Based on what has been shown in previous seasons, I think it was reasonable for Des to assume her comments would never air.

By the 2nd season on the show she's got to know that if you say it they can show it.

i think the reason we are seeing this is because of the storyline with brooks and how he's her favorite, things will totally fall apart, he leaves and then comes back to steal the day. if that weren't the storyline then we wouldn't see des saying any of this at all. i do feel badly for chris though as watching the show i'm sure he is realizing it was always brooks. jmo.
