I realized I never put up her blog from week 8. The OCD in me, couldn't let this go :geek: I just left in the whole paragraphs about each Ben and JP: Not sure we need them now, but good to have for comparison for future seasons at least.
Week 8: Bachelorette Ashley: What You Didn't See on My Hometown Visits

BEN: (no title was included for Ben’s date – not sure why???) My next stop was Sonoma. I had never been to Northern California so I was excited to see what it was all about. Sonoma is such a quaint little town, it made me feel like I was really home.

Ben's family was one of the families that surprised me the most. In my mind, I thought they were going to be loud, outgoing, and somewhat goofy like Ben. I was so surprised to see that they were quite the opposite. They were sophisticated and conservative. His mother reminded me of Coco Chanel! I was so nervous talking with her and felt somewhat intimidated.

Ben's family has been through a lot in the past few years and I sensed a guard and protectiveness over him. Watching Ben's interview brought tears to my eyes. It was nice to see him dig deep into his heart and be comfortable showing emotion that he held in for so long. This is one of the things I love to see throughout this journey. It is about finding love, but it's also about finding yourself and I'm so happy to be a part of that with Ben. Honestly, I always enjoy my time spent with Ben. He's so fun to be around and lives a truly incredible life.

JP: Romantic with JP
My last date was with JP in Long Island, New York. At this point, it felt like forever since I had seen him and I could not wait! On one of our dates I made fun of him because he said he liked rollerblading in New York City. I told him that rollerblading didn't seem like a sexy pastime for such a stud. This was my payback. He took me roller-skating hoping that I would fall on my face, but to his dismay, he was the one that fell!

But the best part of all was that I felt like I was at a middle school dance. It was romantic and silly, and I remember thinking just how happy I was in those moments. I was really nervous to meet JP's family for a different reason than he probably thought. I was scared that they wouldn't be pleased that I wasn't Jewish. Religion does not matter to me, but I had no idea how they felt about it, so I went into this date with nervousness on my shoulders.

What a relief! His family was so supportive and sweet. They were also very concerned about JP getting his heart broken. It became clear that he had a very emotional breakup that affected him greatly, and all they want is to see their son happy. I also learned that JP gets his sweet smile from his mother, and his intellect from his dad. I had so many great conversations with everyone, but the best part was seeing his Bar Mitzvah photo. Sweet mullet, JP! Now we all know why he shaves his head!

When the photographer mentioned the northeast coast I wondered if maybe that was the clue that Chris H and Fleiss tweeted about. Ashley and JP are both from the northeast. Damn that tweet. I found myself trying to find clues in everything during the episode.

My next date was with Ben, in probably one of the most breathtaking locations I've ever been. We arrived in Taroko National Park where we rode scooters through the majestic scenery. The area is famous for its grand canyons and spectacular mountains, and it honestly is like nothing I've ever seen. We stopped at a viewpoint to see the Changchun Temple that sits above a waterfall, commemorating the lives of those who built the road and tunnels through the mountains. Then we had a picnic near a suspension bridge. Seriously, every turn we took revealed a new view that blew my mind. Around dusk we arrived at the beautiful Silks Place Taroko, which overlooks the water and the gorgeous view of the marble that the gorge is made of. Needless to say, our dinner setting was stunning. Yes, we did sleep in separate rooms that night, but I later learned that the sleepover caused quite a stir with the guys back at the suite, especially JP.

I know that posing for wedding photos probably isn't high on the list for most men…but I couldn't resist doing it for our group date this week. Wedding photography is huge in Taiwan, and you see hundreds of studios up and down the streets of Taipei. There is one particular "wedding street", Aiguo East Road, which has a fantastic setup. There are popular locations in Taiwan to get your photos taken, and this studio has captured those similar backdrops in their location. Fortunately the guys were decent sports, but I have to admit I felt a little bad dressing Lucas and Ames up in those costumes while JP got the western suit. Not fair! I had so much fun taking the photos and getting all dressed up in the ornate costumes, and an even better time revealing the pictures at the reception. We held our "wedding reception" at The Regent Taipei and had such a nice time enjoying the local fare.

While reading Ashley and Ben's date in her blog I kept getting the feeling of a tour guide. Ashley narrative is so much about the scenery and her surroundings it could be anyone on the date. There is no mention of how she felt with Ben while in this beautiful place, granted it is all new to them but when you are newly in love you don't notice anything but each other. I really think Ashley like Ben, he is fun, flirty, and funny. They are like a couple of teenagers falling in love, a summer romance. He may be her F1 but I can't get a feel for them, maybe after the HTD and FD things will become clearer, for now I see two people who love to be with each other, but, are still at the first stage of love.

With JP date, I thought it was interesting that she pick that outfit for JP, this says to a man that you see him as your husband. The other two outfits with Lucas and Ames was like a costume, she would never marry in that. However, what she and JP worn were the real thing. I am sure JP left there feeling pretty good about himself and the guys felt like he had it wrapped up, why would anyone think anything less. Also, why did the photographer made a point to tell Ashley and JP that the background for their protrait was(quote) "The most popular wedding photo location. I want to introduce this place, its the northeast coast." What did that mean and why would they care if this was just a "fun" date with not meaning. hmmmmmm : no idea

Also, in the paragraph about Ben's date, Ashley found a way to mention JP name when she was making sure everyone KNEW, that she and Ben slept in separate rooms.

I agree

Not sure who is F1, but just thought I would point out some of the things I noticed... Smiley

That fits with posting today about F1 not usually being in top 5 to watch and Ben being there, anyway. I am so glad I like both this time. It sucks when you really, really want one to be the F1 and evidence goes against them. I like her taste in men. Well, the top 2 anyway - I never had the love for Peter Pan boy Williiam, let alone Bentley. :puke:

I figure if she chose JP, she wants to over-explain the overnight date - that there was no funny business going on. If she pics Ben, she would want to be explaining that HEAT on the tram ride! I haven't seen that happen yet - so today I'll go with the fact that JP is F1. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

I agree. I am just not sure why so little is said about JP in her blogs in general. Still could go either way, but I remember thinking that Brad was probably not saying much about Chantal so it wouldn't give it away, but then it was really that he had chosen Emily. However, each season is somewhat different...But, it is interesting that she mentions the separate room thing in both blogs. Still undecided. hmmm
