Pia, no, Dallas does not have a large Filipino population. (not in the way I think you mean)

They were evasive about it AGAIN. I think ABC is looking at Des' bachette ratings before committing to fronting a TV wedding.

wow, i thought for sure their GMA appearance, which i didn't see, was for a wedding announcement. i'm glad they are not rushing anything just yet. i remember sean saying they wanted to marry by the end of this year so we'll see if that happens. i still don't see them as a good match for the long haul, but i was sort of resigned to their marrying. i do think they both like hollywood life and being in the industry swirl. can't see Cat in dallas at all but she seems very accommodating and will defer to sean's wishes--until she doesn't. i could see her moving there and then waking up a few months later thinking "how did the free-spirited girl with the om tattoo end up here?"

But I do love weddings, and if they end up having one and broadcasting it, I'll be oo'ing and aw'ing the whole way through PINKHEART

I don't necessarily find them an unlikely couple. I think they actually complement each other nicely. I've always thought the best pairings are those people who share core values which keep them together, but, are different enough that they bring new things to the relationship and keep it from getting boring and stale. As you said, I don't know them and I can't say for sure if they will last, but, of all the couples to come through this show, this is the couple that I feel the most hopeful about....and that includes JP and Ashley. Contrast this to how I felt about Brad/Emily, Ben/Courtney, Emily/Jeff and currently Des. no

I'm usually pretty cynical/sceptical/realistic when it comes to this show so I have rather surprised myself at how positive I am about this couple. At this point I would be very surprised...and frankly a little sad...if they didn't make it. Embarressed!

That's exactly how I feel, Sprite, you took the words out of my mouth.

On a side note, perception is a really funny thing, at least on these issues:
(1) Speaking: Some say Sean is dominating the relationship based on his answering the questions in the interviews, and others say Cat is hogging attention in the paps video.
(2) Faith: Some think Cat should be more vocal about HER faith and quote the Bible more. Others think Cat should not accommodate HIS faith.
(3) Residence: Some predict doom because they're currently staying in L.A. Others predict doom because Cat will not survive in Dallas.
(4) Work: Some point fingers at Sean for making money off the HW market. Some point finger at Sean for not making money from his furniture business. Some point finger at Cat for quitting her job.
(5) Fame: Here's the "logic": Staying in L.A. and make money = fame seeking = doomed relationship. Moving to Dallas = genuine relationship, but wait, it's still doomed because Cat won't survive there.

The list is not exhaustive, of course, and JMO.

I'm not from Dallas, but according to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Filipino_Americans), Dallas is ranked 20th in the country with Fillipino Americans, so I would guess there is a an active Fillipino community there, but probably not as much as in Seattle or LA.

Thank you. I forgot to check there. That's great that they might have one there.

I think you have summed it up pretty nicely Karen. I agree that perception is everything. I remember Emily 1 & 2 when people were oh she is so in love with Brad and then Jeff and I just could not see it. The boards were in an uproar and fairly evenly split. This time, even though there are sceptics, I've noticed that quite a few are long time sceptics and feel this way about every couple and the show in general. Overall, people seem to be more positive about this couple lasting and the atmosphere here is more congenial. Either way, you can never get everyone to agree and how boring would that be!

All your list tells me is that not all people are on the same page as to why they don't think Sean and Cat won't work..........and every one is a reasonable observation.....

They surely have diappointed all their fans who swore they would high-tail it back to Dallas immediately because neither of them had any interest in HW at all beyond maybe a free wedding ASAP.

Sure, the list was just my observation. I didn't intend to discount or dissuade anyone's opinion of SeanCat. It's just that I found it funny to juxtapose the different POVs. The conclusion seemed to be that SeanCat is doomed no matter what. They will and can never "win"...

Oh well, I'm glad that they're being themselves and living their lives as they see fit, free to plan their future, and free to make changes to their plans - just like every one of us.

Sean & Catherine - The Bachelor 17 - Thread #2 - Page 47 Empty Re: Sean & Catherine - The Bachelor 17 - Thread #2

Post by charriotoffire Sat Jun 15, 2013 9:42 pm

Howdee Doo enjoys freeloading too much. Free rent, free wedding, free engagement ring.
Its funny to wear that very expensive wedding ring only to squat at a friend's house because your tv fiance  is too cheap to rent a place for the two of you.

Catherine enjoys the limelight too, hobnobbing with Vanderpoo and her girls.

After the wedding (that they want ABC to pay more money for, words in the streets say) where are they gonna live?
A house in Dallas will not magically appear unless they want to crash  at Kensington Palace.

Howdy doo thinks his biggest career achievement in life, is Dancing with the Stars and Catherine thinks the biggest thing she has discovered about Howdy Doo is that,  he is a great dog carer. A stalker  knows that about Seannie,  and after all these months that's all Catherine knows about him?
They can have an elaborate wedding but this relationship is as deep as a puddle.
