Docnash14 - I think it's great that you and your husband have been married for 32 years! Obviously your commitment while dating was key to creating a solid foundation for your relationship. I love SeanCat both together and individually but I feel there's a lot of outside influences (DWTS, Gossip Rags, Public Engagements) that will make or break this relationship. Even though she says she likes Peta, it can't be easy seeing pictures/videos if them during rehearsals reading about how she "knows him inside and out" or "knowing that they we will be each others lives forever" in the tabloids (jmo). I know he tries to downplay it by saying she's like a sister and I believe him but it still must be hard to see and read about. If they do get through this and their level of commitment and love is in sync, then I do believe they will have a truly solid relationship like you and your husband do.

I think it's very healthy for Sean and Catherine to have different pursuits and to spend time apart. It is unusual for any couple to spend 24/7 together. I'm sure Coachella is paid- it was probably offered to Sean and Catherine together, but Sean told them he couldn't go and then Catherine is getting to go on her own- and take her pal, Lesley.

You have me by a year but my experience is not too unlike yours though I think my courtship period (time between meeting and marriage) was slightly shorter. I know that in my case it could have been half of what it really was because I knew we were meant to be together long before it came up as "formal" conversation between us.

DWTS is Sean's work right now. We aren't sure what Catherine's finding in the way of work, but she's free- lanced before, so she can pursue opportunities that way. And flexibility has allowed her to go to Portugal (pure speculation, of course), and to Coachella.

I'm sure they both get appearance fees (shame on them if they don't because they could) and this will not always work out for both of them at the same time. They should take advantage of this whenever they can and it doesn't mean they don't have a relationship - only that they are smart.

Good communication is intimate. Shared values are important. Physical intimacy doesn't always include intercourse- though it does in marriage (and for more and more people it does outside of marriage- which IMO makes it a little less intimate).

A physical connection is important to a relationship / marriage but more important is the emotional connection and commitment to each other and to the relationship as a couple. We can only guess at this because only Catherine and Sean know this - everyone else can only guess at it.

sushi, jcrbil is the one who has been married for that long. I was just complimenting them on their marriage and their apparent commitment to growing both themselves and their marriage.

I remember in his interview with Jimmy Kimmel he spoke of their great relationship and not rushing into marriage just to have sex. Maybe for couples like them the bond is stronger because you need to build on other areas of your relationship. In a way, I am glad for Cat that she's not living with him and gave herself to him especially if it will not end with a marriage anyway. The girl always loses when the relationship ends and they were living together. This discussion makes me believe in them more, they are connecting emotionally.

The fact that none of the girls mentioned where they went leads me to believe now that it has to do with ABC and its non disclosure clause.. They tweeted the coachella gig but not the days all three were together at some point from wed afternoon to when they were spotted in Newark.
