The Matchmakers - Discussion
Here is the famous article that Tracy published in Huff Post 2 years ago. It's certainly worth reading. Why You're Not Married http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tracy-mcmillan/why-youre-not-married_b_822088.html

Great that you're bringing this up, because he was the reason I started following this show, Matt is amazing, but honestly he's not a "matchmaker" professional, he doesn't coach/teach/lead/tell you how to be compatible with another person, also he doesn't do the "Amber way" of matching 2 best ideals together or "Tracy's" matching two souls, but he is very efficient in relation to first approach, contact, date, which is essential for further development. I really like his advices, 'cuz they come from sincere men's POV.

I really enjoy listening to Matt's advice. IMO he gives it the best. I don't really understand how Amber's approach works so well for her since it seems like she makes "good on paper" matches. I also don't get the "brand" advice. I think it's weird she keeps trying to make Hailey sexy. I think Tim thinks she is sexy just the way she is. JMO

Matt just came out with a book, it's on my list to read! Be nice getting the male perspective. Funny what Bill & Giuliana said about it.
“If you buy this book, you have an unfair advantage over men, and that’s just wrong.” (Bill Rancic, entrepreneur, devoted husband )
“Whether you’re in a committed relationship, or you’ve had little luck with men, this book will unravel your man-mystery and put you in control, which seems fair to me, no matter what my husband says.” (Giuliana Rancic, TV host, devoted wife )

A little off topic, but after watching the videos that happygolucky linked, I was reminded off Will Smith's character in "Hitch"...fun movie if you haven't seen it.

Imo, Amber is all about selling a product and that is why she keeps referring to the women as Brands. I don't know if any of the other ladies have mentioned how they like their matchmaker, but I do know that Jenna express her satisfaction with Tracy. Do you think that she would be satisfied if she was not the winner? I don't think that they are allowed to have other relationships until after the Show airs (I could be wrong, but I doubt it).

Re: The Matchmakers - Discussion
Imo, Amber choice of all 4 women for Tim were a good possible match, he chose 3 based on their presentation and he couldn't had done better - let's face it, opera singer was there to be let go from the start. Then personality kicks in, characters show their faces and Tim picked the girl he fell for based on chemistry that no good predispositions can predict.
I do believe though, some advices she gave were good, maybe just not given and perceived in right way.
When she talked to Hailey about being sexy, she wasn't that wrong. Because girls who use humor all the time, use it as a way of hiding own insecurities. All women know and can be very sexy, sensual and seductive when they want to be, but you have to be enough confident and relax to let yourself go and show that side of yours, which is difficult when you are nervous and full of expectations, especially when you already have an image of a guy, how he's like, what he likes or doesn't, what he might like, while he doesn't even know you yet.
The advice she gave to Sara about flirting was also right on game, because it's true, when a guy can relate to you and talk to you openly, he becomes vulnerable and loses the "shining armor", masculinity - in his head, not in woman's eyes! - so in that moment he can identify the girl as a friend, a sister and doesn't look at her anymore as a potential sex partner.
But all that is just a good advice till chemistry and fate (or however you call it) don't play own tricks with your life.
From my experience talking, I was "Hailey and Sara" in one relationship, ending up being the guy's friend and confidant, while losing him for much more "spicy", sexy, easygoing, younger girl. So, that's the reason I got hooked to this story, cuz I wanted to see how the relationships take turn.

Congrats! After 34 years maybe it is best that you don't figure him out
