Jordan standing next to Ash IS a big surprise....Since these pictures were taken at the start of production, they add very little to any speculation of the outcome.

Some things are clues and some things merely coincidences. I think they cast some who are known losers - there for drama or photogenic purposes - and some winners who they think could be good matches. They always set the stage for a train wreck or a love story - usually both - and don't care which they get as long as viewers watch it.

They may not be against staging a photo - "Hey JP - let's take this one with you standing next to Ashley" - just to make sure the primary notices that person.

I agree but maybe it was love at first sight for JP and they noticed the Ash/JP interaction from the beginning. Or maybe they keep taking the picture with different people next to her so they have what they need no matter the outcome.

I love to look at and compare the group pics. There are all kinds of foreshadowing hints. Now what I wanted to point out to you was what I think is a "laugh up their sleeve", wink, wink, type thing. Look which two guys just happen to be standing in almost the identical same spot. It would be the same spot if Jillian's had 25 guys instead of 30 guys crammed into the picture.
Look at the 2nd row slightly off the Bachelorette's right shouder (to our left). There stands both Jake and Ryan, bless their hearts.

Now, tell me who thinks they don't line these people up on purpose? How can all of these types of things JUST keep happening on chance season after season? :dontworryabout

I guess this goes over my head. If JP standing where Kiptyn stood, indicates an F2, but Ben F. is nowhere near where Ed is, not even on the same side of the picture or same row. Constantine F3, is nowhere near where Reid F3 stands either. All Jill's F3's are on the front row too. So what is this supposed to tell me, I need some help understanding. TIA

The impression I get looking at these is that the closer the guy is to the lead, the more he wants her. Ian in Meredith's is further back... now he wanted her, but she had to do most of the chasing that season. Eddie is farther back. So is Bentley. These women don't seem to want what is in front on the shelf. They have to dig further back for what is hiding in the back!

Roberto is in a good spot. He is a few guys down... so he is making himself visible, but still expects Ali to do most of the chasing. No clue why Chris L. is so far in the back. Scratching my head on that one.

Yes, there are PATTERNS. Nothing posted in stone... but it isn't all just "coincidence".

Remember also the limo positions. Being last USUALLY guarantees you a top three spot. It wasn't the case with one Bachelorette season, I think. Note also that Jordan was last out of the limo but the editors had a panic attack and re-edited both his limo arrival and 1 on 1 meet & greet to make him less obvious.

I still think they just put two of the shorter guys (and two that they expect the lead will be interested in and thus featured more prominently on the show) right next to TB. In the case of Ed and Roberto, neither was short, but both got front row spots, because they were probably pegged by Jill and Ali as top contenders right off the bat (Ed particularly is much taller than everyone else in the front row). Regardless of what Ashley said about Bentley, he wasn't going to be given a front row spot, just as he wasn't given a solo date. And if a guy is really tall, he is most probably going to get put in the back, unless an exception is made, like with Ed.

Wanted to add that maybe the guy on Ashley's right was supposed to be William (who was one of her top contenders the first night) instead of Mr. No Name, but he insisted on standing next to his "bro", JP!!

And I hate to say it, but there is a startling physical resemblance in those photos between Jake and Ryan P.
