I don't know of anyone I follow on Twitter who didn't comment and note the occasion when they got verified. And not only do people celebrate when they pass follower milestones, but a lot of them hold contests to gain new followers and/or actively solicit their current followers to help them gain new followers when they are close to a milestone. Both of those things are every bit as much a part of Twitter culture as #FF, #TBT, and retweeting.

Singling Catherine out for doing it or not being "famous enough" to do it is a double standard, IMO. She's close to having 200,000 followers. That makes her "Twitter famous," and she can conduct herself accordingly.

Exactly, all in good social media fun! It also must be nice to know you can use your newfound public platform for good. Catherine recently tweeted about a soccer charity that needed donations and how amazing must it be for that charity if they reach even one of her new followers. I work for a non-profit and I would kill for 200,000 people to even read about our mission. All about perspective.

On the other hot topic of the day, casting another vote for Low = Lo. Super cute!

I looked at the twitter replies. One of them said it means

what we thought with IFLY

he meant.. I fly low

what do you think? He doesn't make typos or cuss (publicly) so he might have been making light of her comment??

ha! Maybe that's a french thing Sophie. I haven't heard that about zippers! But the dance move would make a lot of sense.
