Re: Suggestions For The Producers - Discussion
If TPTB actually want a show that helps a lead find a love, they should choose their lead first, then carefully select all 25 women to fit the lead's profile.
It's insulting to the viewer to have contestants who are obviously selected for the sake of drama and it's ridiculous for the contestants to not even know for sure who the lead will be. It should be clear that they were attracted to that lead, not just being on the show.
Maybe they could finally have a bachelor who marries his F1 if they made some of the changes suggested in this thread - IF that really is the goal!

It is not the goal.

I think it IS their goal. Sure, they want drama, but nothing is better for the continued success of this franchise than a marriage.

And that's the crux of the whole problem with the show!! MF is too busy causing drama by who he casts, production interferance to fan the flames of said drama queens and setting up his next lead... that he forgets about what the majority tune in for... to see a love story develop.

NSV , I agree with you. If it was possible for all the 20 or 25 bachelorettes
to have more time than the meet and greet night , say two days to get to know each woman , Sean said he was going to send Lindsay home the first night , i guess her showing up in a brides gown . but he kept her and she ends up in the final 3 . so more time with all the bachelorettes maybe the right one didn't get sent home .

Re: Suggestions For The Producers - Discussion
I NEVER watch the initial meet 'n greet because it is always so awkward and because there is always something so utterly ridiculous that it defies explanation in a real world setting and makes you embarrassed for that woman and someone always gets humiliatingly drunk. i.e. wedding dress, the stupid tie thing.
I don't consider public humiliation entertaining and I doubt the majority of those watching do either. We watch to see beautiful people meet and potentially begin a relationship and I don't think Fleiss gets that.
He thinks we tune in for the "Tierra's" when in reality a lot of people tune out when that character hits the screen and come back later hoping for a glimpse of the actual premise of the show.
And enough with the producer driven professions of undying love. A "wow, I really like this guy and could really imagine myself falling in love with him" is far more believable than "wow, I have spent a total of 56 minutes with this guy and he's my husband I am madly in love with him."
So:
1 - Ditch the drama b*tch - you don't need her. Simply put that many women in one house and some drama will naturally evolve.
2 - Public humiliation is unnecessary and not believable in most cases and feels producer driven - let these people be themselves, don't encourage them to be characatures.
3 - Don't push for professions of love. They make the contestant seem ridiculous and are not believable.
4 - Just let it unfold and let us see it unfold and your ratings will rise, not fall.

Re: Suggestions For The Producers - Discussion
Hi So.momof4 , I agree with you , The reason i watch the first episode is to see all the bachelorettes , when they post all of their pictures & bio's i'm curious as to what their like in action . and its the same every season , whether its the bach.or ette season , i just feel the lead doesn't really get to know all of contestants equally , so maybe a extra day with all of the contestants would make a difference who would get sent home .
I'm probably not putting my thoughts out their where they make any sense but its just that i do know their 's got to be a change especially on the Bachelor season

A thesaurus in every gift bag for the contestants - and the lead? Who would have guessed that other words for "amazing" are astonishing, awesome, incredible, stunning, surprising, unbelievable and wonderful? And other words for "journey" are adventure, odyssey, venture, and voyage. It would be nice to hear a little variety in their vocabulary. But then Jimmy Kimmel would miss counting how many times "amazing" was used.
