Sprite, I think you're right, the manufactured drama was missing. But I also didn't really see a love connection with Whit or Bianka - regardless they are happy and I'm very happy for them, and happy to read they are planning on marrying sooner rather than later.

I enjoyed the season as it was more laid back but I guess that's how us Canadians are viewed. Have been watching the bachelor/bachelorette seasons since Trista and I was afraid we would get the MF philosophy of lots of sex and drama ramped up to the nth degree and if it is not there then create it. Thank you Canadian producers for not going to that extreme. Love the sleuthing on this board and thanks for the respect shown through varying opinions. No RS or major media spills to spoil the ending - yipppeee! Guess I'll hang my Miss Marple hat up until next season.

I liked that it lacked the usual BS that we see on the Bach and ette. People said what they were feeling and you got to see an honesty that is sorely lacking in the US version. I think the only one that got led on and played this season was Brad by Whitney. I don't dislike the girl... just think that she's messed.

I felt that the episodes told a story, a real story, and we all know exactly how it played out and why Brad didn't really have a relationship with Gabby even though he liked her as a person. We know that Kara and him were similar people, but only would be good friends. We also know that although Brad liked Whitney at the beginning.. and although he stayed physically attracted to her, there was no real emotional relationship developing - nor would it ever. Bianka intrigued him at the beginning and they slowly progressed to the point of proposal, with a mutual attraction being the glue that will probably keep them together for some time.

Yep, totally prefer this to all the smoke and mirrors and drama that we usually see, and the confusion that comes with it.

You know that if they had edited Whitney differently (if that was possible) and shown a kinder, less psycho version of her then it would have been more of a drama than love story type show.

You know I just remembered a comment from Gabby during the first episode and again from the WTA about her imprression of Whitney. She said she did not get a good vibe about her; and that was right from the start. Gabby may need a filter for her mouth at times but her initial assessment of Whitney was right on. Gabby kept saying she tells like it is so she recognized that there was something not quite right with Whitney and had not problem telling her that. Probably why her and Whitney did not get along because Whitney knew Gabby was on to her although Gabby said she did apologize to Whitney for her behaviour the first night.

You know, Northern, you've summarized how I feel about the season and all the show participants. The only other thing I'll add is that I enjoyed the little things that made it seem more like real life ~ seeing people eating, taking beer to MTP, having families that could've been your neighbors.

MF could totally take a page out of the Canadian version of this show. Especially if it produces a couple that marries and is happy longterm.

Wouldnt it be great if the first Bachelor couple to marry (not Bachelorette) was from the Canadian production? It was less manipulated/overproduced than the US versions and if Brad is to be believed - he had a lot of control over what happened.

That would be great and the only other thing I would add is how the show is cast. Brad expressed on numerous occasions that he was really looking to find someone to spend his life with...and surprisingly my normally cynical self believed him. I think that makes a big difference. Unfortunately, the US version doesn't seem as concerned about that. Many...if not most of their leads seem to be there for a career opportunity. There is nothing wrong with that...as a secondary motive...same with adventure/fun...but if you want the show premise to work, they really should be there to find someone or at least, be very open to that. With casting just retreads, it makes it harder to get the lead to just be there for the "right reasons". Instead we get Jake and Ben...

yes please!! They seem to be a pretty good match for each other, despite the seeming fame-whoring that they both came up with at the beginning of the season (Kris Humphries' ex + ex-CFL player each hoping to scrape more fame out of this... ) I'd LOVE it if they actually made it, but we'll see :)

Also - I haven't checked the media threads yet, but I wanted to put this here for you guys - Brad is such a mushball around B :)

Mike Fleiss and Next doesn't have any say that I know of. IT was Force Four Entertainment that are the producers of the show.

What I also liked is how the finale aired. Brad sent Whit packing before it ruined his day by her showing up at the ceremony. I always thought that that day should be for the lead and his chosen one and that it makes it more special for them. With the producers being Force Four and how they pulled it off, I wish the USA one would get a clue from it. I can say that the one of the USA one that I truly liked was Ali and Roberto's and honestly the reason why is that it seemed more special with the two of them only and not the day being "spoiled" by having to say goodbye to the f2 before the lead and the chosen one can have their time. Hope that makes sense??
