Keeping Bloomies in business. It's a tough job but she is Mother Theresa so she took one for the team and sacrificed herself for it.Archer23 wrote:I'm not asking this to be snarky; I'm genuinely wondering, since I don't follow Emily closely, but what career?

I don't care who ran with the story and how they are not trustworthy...but this is how her being the Bette started. We heard rumours about her doing DWTS while she was still on the show but people poo pooed it because of Ricki. Never bought the Emily Kool-Aid and am not about to start now. Just keep her away from Maks!

From your lips to ABC's ears. IF this is true, I hope she's paired with Mark.

Interesting Thoughts
I enjoyed reading this post! Thank you for your thoughts.Fruit Loops wrote:chasingpavements wrote:Fruit Loops wrote:Amberish wrote:I hope she does. Emily should spread her wings a bit.
IMO, Emily is definitely one that is slower than most in facing her fears.
It's lack of talent that is her challenge; pretty faces that cameras love are a dime a dozen - faces that don't hunger for botox are generally more marketable than those that do. I personally think she lives in denial. I fault no woman who wants a career; but it's far more attractive to be honest about it (with yourself and everyone around you) than to act/pretend otherwise. I see her as a little-girl lost.
But, how can you know that she will be bad at ballroom dancing? I know she makes fun of herself for not being a good dancer, but we don't have any real proof. Plus, being a good club dancer does not translate into a good ballroom dancer.
As an aside, Melissa Rycroft would talk about how all she wanted to do was become a teacher and never do reality TV. Ali F talked about how important her FB job, and never really said she was interested in a career in the entertainment business. I don't know why Emily is singled out for being a liar, when many others have done the same.
Ali never made a secret of her interest in a television career. Her exit from Jake's season was SHOW - - she was already offered the lead on her own season. Career remained most important to her and if Roberto would have become a full shadow and support her every whim of all the public appearances she wanted, then they would be together. Unfortuantely for her, he wanted a wife and family and a degree of normal and nesting. There was no meeting in the middle.
Melissa was talk about being a teacher. She came on the show to jump start her career and the entire "break up" with Tye was part of that plan. He was always waiting for her to get back - that was the plan. For her to make it into the final few to get her name/face and fan base built. Her parents didn't approve and refused to be a part of the sham. She did get sucked into the bachelor bubble - but reality hit her the second she got off the plane. Jason reported that it was instantly different when they got home - little wonder. Her return for the ATFR rejection dumping was not without negotiatios with high-priced attorneys - in exchange for her cooperation, she got limited engagements with GMA and DWTS. The rest is history. She and Tye succeeded in their goal and Melissa has enough likability to have a 'B' rated reality tv career. Inside information subsequently revealed that the win for DWTS was not legitimate and it was intentional; doors are opening for her. She later admitted in several interviews - including the one for 20/20 that she wasn't blindsided. That she and Jason had broken up and they staged the ATFR. What she was ticked about was only the mention of Molly's name - she wasn't told about it; thinking she was on top of everything that was to happen only to find out that the producers still pulled one on her.... not unlike how they kept Holly and Blake from talking to Michael Stagliano. She has made no strides toward education or any career beyond the camera - it was and has been her goal.
Again - for both - it is fine. I fault no one for career ambitions. The fault I find is in dishonesty. Melissa was far more calculated and intentional in her control over paving a future career in the business. Ali followed a pathway that was open to her and realized that she couldn't have her cake and eat it too when it came to Roberto.
Where I feel Emily is a little girl lost is in a number of places:
1) She has had a number of career opportunities handed to her but ever evidence of her life before and since the bachelor has been focused on nothing but a career.
2) She claims that Ricki is her world but facts prove that she left her daughter for well over a year to pursue a modeling career. Contradictory? It is one thing if she HAD to leave her child in order to make a career for their survival. It is another thing to CHOOSE to leave your child and then say that she is the most important thing in the world to you. There are a number of ways actions could validate that claim - keeping her child with her with a nanny as many wealthy people do, for one.
3) Fact: Her season was heaving scripted before the cameras started rollling and before the contracts were signed. This is unlike any other season. While in the past "characters" are assigned and producers manipulate situtions and edits to provide a story - this was not the case. Anyone with eyes can see the reality:
a) Cassie Lambert is in the center; helping a friend, Arie, to boost a career - discussing the possibility of him being the lead if he wanted it. Win. Win. Win.
b) Her water mission and People Water's donations to water missions - and the promise of free PR to Jef and "his" company, which happened to grow exponentially, which happened to have been promoted more than Ben's wine. Win. Win. Win. for both of them.
c) Two men who became "best friends" and who set themselves a part from every one else in the house. Because....why? They knew the ending? The planned ending?
d) Emily - quite possibly the fakest post-Brad break up sad, sob story interview ever placed on national tv. Check it out.
e) A signed contract with a big-named agent; moving on without remorse, time, grief post break-up with Jef - mutually true.... how can this be when you have two people who were supposed to have been in love? Not even a little bit of loss??
f) Never to be forgotten reveal from Graham Bunn and Michelle Money's reaction and efforts to silence him when he expressed who Emily's type was and he knew the ending.
Do I fault her? If she wants a career than say so.
IMO - she overplayed her hand on Brad's season. She was told by the franchise, if you want to be a lead (which she expressed and requested and was denied unless she participated on Brad's season so they could build her fan base) she had to go on Brad's season. Brad hadn't a clueless - the poor guy fell for her hook line and sinker - and if anyone needs to be reminded that the guy was "lost" on ATFR not knowinng what to say, how to be, touch her or not, etc.... He knew he was damned if he did or didn't - and was overwhelmed with knowing how to handle being in love with a woman who didn't love him back - not the way a finace should love a man. She didn't want him; she never wanted him; she always wanted a lead.
Do I fault her? No. But be honest about it!
I can go on and on about all the contradictions that valid inside information - - do i fault her, NO! But be honest.
DWTS - - let's consider that. She has a daughter in school, who she insists she wasn't going to uproot that led to Jef's decision to move to Charlotte to keep her daughter's life normal. Well, what would moving to LA mean to a daughter whose life is in Charlotte?? Why would she go on that??? To further her career ambitions or to become a better, more present, devoted mom?? Remember - we are talking about a woman who insisted on her ATFR that she wanted to go away with Jef, get back to a normal life, away from "all this" (referencing the cameras and fans) and fill a mini-van with children!!! As for being a good dancer... she is admitted to being awkward, bad at all sports, fearful to a fault add that to the only other thing that can keep you on a show - an outgoing personality to garnish votes. ??? Please
It's contradictions - a ton of them. I don't buy the absent tears and fake crying any more than I buy into a beautiful woman getting plastic surgery to be a better mom. She wants the camera and everything she has done (again, repeating) before during and after her name appeared on Brad's season has been for that goal and that goal only. I predict that behind the fake facade, is a little girl lost. Someone who doesn't have self-esteem or self-confidence; someone who thinks that the grass is always greener on the other side of whatever fence she stands on; someone who craves attention to give her the feeling that she has value and importance where she can't find it on her own. Long is this list.
Miracles happen - if she chooses to go on the show and makes something of it, then good for her! It's just one more thing to prove that all the things she says she is and says is important to her is just jabber from a place of delusion. If she went public and said, "I have always wanted to have a career in front of a camera, and I'm going on DWTS so people can see that I'm a fun, gifted, and talented person that they can enjoy seeing; wish me luck!" I'd be the first to wish her luck and hope she finds the success she wants. At the very least, I'd respect her for being honest.
I've watched this board IMPLODE over this season - crazy, irrational, fan in-fighting unlike never before. The Jef fans were as nuts as the Arie fans and those who loved Emily more than air to breath were as plentiful as those who thought she was a boring as dirt. I believe that this happened because all the pre-show planning and scripting was so contived that people tripped over this season and their perceptions of everything shown and there wasn't enough REALITY and TRUTH to balance it out.
For the record - I don't have a pony in this race. I'm not on Arie's track either. And, I'm not drinking 'the people water'. But, I won't shy away from getting to the root of the truth. Also for the record - I feel sorry for Emily. I used to be her! I "get her" even though I don't like her dishonesty. Someday she will see that life is much, much better without wearing a mask.
I will now go back into my corner.

Great post, Fruit Loops.
Thanks for saying for what so many who posted here last season tried to time and time again.
One thing to add, I was under the understanding Jason was leaning toward choosing Molly all along was manipulated by the Machine to choose otherwise, evidenced by his Mesnick upon Molly's rejection at the FRC.
I don't feel sorry for M. You reap what you sow. Her duplicity imo has always been transparent.

This is a perfect example of how the Fleiss production differs from the Canadian production. Brad Smith almost let the woman who became his F1 go at the 15-12 Rose ceremony, but a producer convinced him to keep her and try to get to know her. Brad said that at the outset, they promised to have his best interests at heart.I was under the understanding Jason was leaning toward choosing Molly all along was manipulated by the Machine to choose otherwise, evidenced by his Mesnick upon Molly's rejection at the FRC.

Same here. In a way, I feel bad for all those who fell under that "magical" spell and thought they were the real deal. I've been there and it sucks. But at the same time, I still wonder how some bought into that so much. Guess there will always be things I can't understand.
And great thought Fruit Loops.
