Episode 1 - 1/07 - Bachelor 17 - Discussion - Spoilers

Personally I didn't get any sense of Catherine from watching last night. She remains a mystery. Looking forward to seeing her layers peeled back as the season goes on.

This journey for Sean from the previews and late date for Catherine seems as though he had some real tough decisions. He seems to have some very beautiful and intelligent women and he has to put himself out there to find the final one.I can see how he could have said that he fell for more than one during the process. Hope that all is great for him in the end, he seems to be sincere about his search for love.

Interesting that this thread wasn't all that busy last night. Seems quieter here than usual.

I noticed that too. I hope more people decide to watch Sean's season.

I was just looking at the two SC's of the RC, Sean's girls that had a rose and those that didn't... I think Sean is definitely into brunettes!

Things that surprised me ... Catherine seemed awfully young. Wouldn't have picked her for a front-runner. Lindsay was just an embarrassment. Still amazed she got a rose the first night. All the speculation that she'd be a fan favorite ... She's gonna have to change a lot for that to happen. Desiree is an absolute DOLL, but I wonder if they may turn out to be more friends than romantic partners. AshLee seemed a little desperate. Felt kind of sorry for her.

And Sean was just charming and gracious. Seems like a sweet, sweet man. Looking so forward to this season!

I thought the same thing during the show Monday night. I was surprised b/c for some reason I thought he was into blonds....not sure where I got that from.

I don't know how you all can remember the girls' names!!! I can remember Sarah and Catherine with their faces but still working on the rest.

I meant to ask...what was the girls' name with the Fifty Shades of Grey reference? And, did she get a rose? I'm trying to remember but failing miserably....

Just watched this yesterday afternoon..

I liked Desiree the most. The wishing well idea was really cute. She seems to think before the speaks.

Did not care for AshLee. Her intro video was fine but the stuff she said to Tierra were catty. It's going to be hard to hate Tierra if AshLee is always shown instigating her. Doesn't seem like a lovable F3 to me, but it's still early.

I can't help but like Lindsay even with her cringe worthy performance. She probably woke up the next morning feeling silly. I like how she doesn't take herself too seriously and how expressive she is but the first night was not good. I am surprised she got a rose... Sean didn't seem very comfortable around her.

There wasn't alot of Catherine to see so it was hard to form an opinion. She talks like my friends from college do. BTW RS was wrong, "mean muggin" = giving someone a nasty look. I'm going to guess that she didn't grab Sean's attention until later on in the season.

I didn't really pay attention to anyone else but I loved Lesley's dress.

I have to agree with those who said that they were not that impressed with Catherine - at least what we got to see of her. I did see her intro though that the producers chose not to air, and she did come across as very young and a little quirky. I have no doubt that she has a fun personality, but we don't know anything more than that. I definitely would not have picked her as a frontrunner, much less Sean's F1.

In my opinion it was Tierra that Sean was most taken with and not Catherine. And I do think that he initially liked AshLee and Desiree quite a bit on that first night, and both of them got one-on-one dates BEFORE Catherine got her first one with Sean. This makes me think that knowing Catherine is supposed to be the F1 might have skewed one's perception of Sean's initial interest in Catherine. I am just not seeing it yet.
