They are really building up his character as the one she almost dumped too early. I think this is why the post-hometown rose ceremony is considered such a hoopty-doo. Constantine is just not "into" her as much as Ames is.

In addition, his bio intro in episode #1 stated "I'm probably jinxing myself but my first choice is Ashley H. because I'm always attracted to women who are passionate about what they do, because I think it is sexy to love what you do."

None of the others who made it to the top ten or so mentioned her name in their intros.

But she is doing the show "with no regrets" - and that to me means she is giving each of the guys every chance she can - til she is convinced that it is not going to work. Constantine is more reserved - perhaps she is keeping him around to give him every chance to show what he is really like. I suspect by the htd she knew who her chosen one was to be - but she is making it look good - that no stone is left unturned.
