Josh Murray: 29, Athens, GA. Originally from Tampa, Florida. Graduated "Cum Laude" from Tampa Jesuit HS. He has been playing Baseball since his youth. He won the State Championship in 2000 and Junior Olympic Champions on Team Florida USA. Drafted in the second round by the Milwaukee Brewers right out of HS. Graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in Business Administration in 2010, where he played football. He is 6'2" tall. Currently works as a Financial Services Rep for Capstone Financial. He is also the brother of former UGA "Bulldog" quarterback Aaron Murray.

Former Bulldog Josh Murray to be contestant on 'The Bachelorette'

Move over, Juan Pablo.

There’s a new bachelor taking the stage of the hit ABC “reality” show named Josh Murray.

A former Georgia Bulldog and older brother of Aaron, Murray is one of the bachelors competing for the heart of a Georgia peach on the next installment of “The Bachelorette”.

Murray’s mother, Lauren, confirmed his involvement in the show via telephone with the Athens Banner-Herald after rumors started circulating on Twitter and various celebrity gossip sites.

“He left Sunday (for California) and had to give up all forms of communication,” Lauren Murray said.

That means no cellphone, no computers, iPads, not even a Bible, according to his mother. Murray was nominated by two family members from Philadelphia that always teased the 29-year-old UGA Terry College of Business graduate about not having a girlfriend.

“He thought it was a joke when (ABC) called him,” Lauren Murray said with a laugh.

The Bachelorette in question is 26-year-old Atlanta assistant district attorney Andi Dorfman, who was most recently on this past season of “The Bachelor”.

According to several online sources, Dorfman’s father is a big UGA fan, which could come in handy for Murray, especially if he makes it to the point of the show where he meets her family.

According to Lauren Murray, the “limo arrivals” will be filmed Wednesday night, with the first rose episode happening in the early morning hours Thursday. But if the introduction doesn’t go well, Josh could be on the first flight back home.

According to reality TV blogger Reality Steve, who posted a Twitter screenshot of Dorfman’s excitement after Aaron Murray followed her twitter, he wouldn’t be surprised if the oldest Murray brother makes it far.

“So lets see, Josh lives in Georgia, his brother was basically the best QB in school history, the Dorfman’s are huge UGA fans and he’s good looking. I would be SHOCKED if Josh doesn’t at least make it to hometowns (part of the show where the Bachelorette and her Bachelor go to the Bachelor’s hometown to visit his family). And this guy has ‘next Bachelor’ written all over him,” Reality Steve posted on his blog, realitysteve.com, on Monday.

The 10th season of “The Bachelorette” begins May 19 on ABC.

I am not altogether certain but it seems he is someone she met, and not an ex-boyfriend and the tweet is a tongue in cheek statement.

LOL Yeah, that may be the case! Either way, he really seems like a guy I'd like to get to know for sure!
