The following guys have intros… remember that Emily says she is not an athletic gal.

Kalon: the womanizer ready to settle down
Ryan B. the sports trainer who likes working with kids
Tony: the lumber salesman and fitness buff (bulging abs) with a kid
Lerone: the “nerd” real estate agent who still does bench-ups
David: singer-songwriter and romantic seeking “perfect” love, but less “hunky” than the others
Charlie: suffered a head injury, but there’s nothing wrong with his heart

Jef: My name is Jef and I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Very rarely do people take me seriously just because of the way I dress… the way I act. I like being underestimated, but if they care enough to get to know me, they are pleasantly surprised. I’m a CEO at a bottled water company and every bottle that’s purchased we donate a portion of the profits into our charity… and that charity provides wells all over the world for people who don’t have access to clean drinking water. I’m very different from other business owners that are buckle-down because I’m young and I want to enjoy life. I want to find that special someone to share the rest of my life with. I believe in the fairy tale ending.

Arie: I’m Arie from Scottsdale, Arizona and I’m a race car driver. I’ve been involved with Indy Cars my whole life. I’ve raced in Indianapolis 500. I’ve represented the Netherlands. I’ve traveled and it has been a passion of mine. I’d love to be married and find the right girl and I’m excited to have a chance with Emily. I know Emily’s fiancé also raced and he passed away on the way to a race. Being a race car driver could bring back painful memories for her, so I’m definitely nervous going into this. I know it’s a big risk but I’m willing to take that risk and I hope she does to.

I thought it was really thoughtful of Arie to let me know about the whole racecar thing. I think people maybe would be scared off by that, but it has been a part of my life… and he’d be hot in a racecar.

The fact that Doug is a single parent makes me feel like he gets what I’m going through and I certainly get what he’s going through, so I really hope I get a chance to meet Austin. His little letter was so sweet and, just from that, I can tell Doug has done a good job being a dad.

Seven or eight of the girls that I've dated have moved on directly after me to find the one that they wanted. They're getting married or they are married. I was kinda their stepping stone to finding happiness.

I feel really good about Ryan P. Ryan is the whole package. He's gorgeous. He's smart. He's successful, has such a positive outlook on life. He really put me at ease. My conversation with him really set the bar very high.
(giving first impression to Ryan P): He is so ambitious. He has such a positive energy about him. He just seems like a guy that has it all together and, on top of that, he's modest. He's just a nice guy and that is exactly what I'm looking for.

Bentley

Key Intro Line: (after introducing himself) I'm sure the Bachelorette would have a hard time ever sending me home without a rose. I would love the Bachelorette to be Emily. I'm ready to meet her. I'm ready to see if we have a connection. I'm ready to have some fun. I hope she's up for it.

I've been watching Bentley out of the corner of my eye all night. A couple days ago, I received a message from a friend of mine telling me that I should be warned about Bentley. I'm ready to have this conversation and it has been weighing on me all night. I need to see if he's here for the right reasons or not. / I'm so confused. This story is not matching up with what I'm seeing of Bentley. I'm pleasantly surprised. If I didn't know about all this speculation, he would be right in the front for me in terms of my selection of guys. He seems to be everything I'm looking for. He surprised me, but now I have this weighing on me, everything that I know. I really don't want to get hurt.

Ben Flajnik

Intro: I'm a wine maker. I grew up in Sonoma, California so it is kinda been in my blood. My parents had a wonderful marriage, happy and joyful. They were very much in love up until my dad passed away. From an emotional standpoint, I've been pretty guarded since my dad died. I grew up with loving parents. They supported me and my sister. I'd like to find somebody I can share that with and raise a family some day. I'm ready to fall in love. I'm ready to start another journey with someone by my side. I like well rounded cultured women... women who have careers and things going on. It's super attractive to me and I hope she's brunette. I have a track record of dating a lot of blonds that didn't work out and I'm a total brunette guy.

Jeff and Tim get a LOT of attention in PIs by Ashley. Constantine, Blake and Lucas get some head shots and Lucas quite a lot of talking. Matt gets is a key early frontrunner with the call to Gayle.

Trista’s season premiere in January 2003

Ryan:

Intro (9th one out of limos): I would go through any lengths for love because it is such a valuable these days. If you get that golden opportunity and you don’t take advantage of it, then you’re crazy. The best thing that could happen to me is I could fall in love with Trista and she in me and we could ride into the sunset happily ever after. (The guy following him is Brook from Dallas, a cowboy… just so you think Ryan can’t stand a chance with his closing line!)

Trista reading: May the night bring sweet dreams and the morning blue skies… (comments liking it to him and we cut into other activities, like the breast implant salesman)

Odd curio…

Ryan’s meeting with her was after Josh discussed wanting lots of kids and Trista telling him her biggest fear is not having any.

Flashforward to Emily’s season: Jef is shown right before a big discussion with Doug about raising a kid. Why such a startling similarity in editing? Earlier, Chris tells Emily it is better that she doesn't start the meetings with her need for more kids. Trista also discusses kids a lot with Harrison before-hand.

With Ashley’s season, no mention of kids in Jeff or Bentley’s meetings that “sandwich” JP’s… just talks about “being sincere”. Jeff is, while she questions Bentley.

(to Harrison later) Ryan wrote me a poem. It is absolutely beautiful. He’s got all of this great talent and he’s got all of these things going for him... and we have a lot of the same values.

Charlie:

Intro (last out of limos): I’m a hopeless romantic. I know ultimately my life will not be fulfilled until I meet the right woman. I’m a true believer that things in life happen for a reason and maybe this is going to be the time it happens.

Greg:

Intro: I am definitely looking forward to having a family with a boy and a girl, a dog and a picket fence. That is how I grew up and that’s what I look forward to.

I think his storyline and conflict has been made clear especially with the Muppets date info about their conversation. It will be will Jef let his guard down enough with Emily for her to fall in love. Hence, the late 1-on-1 date but multiple probable group date SQT moments. Until Jef's first one-on-date her feelings may be elsewhere with guys who are more open and she may have other frontrunners 'til then. Once she has her 1-on-1 with him, and he feels comfortable to let his guard down more, her feelings for him pull ahead. By the time HTD's happens her feelings will be the strongest for him. Hence the shenanigans right after his date and before Arie's. They'll keep up the connflict of him being guarded throught the season finale to give doubt less for whether Emily will pick him aand more for will he propose to her. Kind of like Ali & Roberto, with Chris gone, it was about would he propose.
