You folks have my head spinning. Gotta sleep on it... ha ha! Come to think of it, Arie does have a wonderful bromance brewing with Jef, so it appears.

I also read the comments about the midnight FRC. Where did that information come from?

Some of these loose pieces are coming together, particularly the Jef/Joe connection. I think Joe, who lives in Los Angeles, was asked to record that voice-over after he left the show in order to "speed up" Jef being so slow at this process. "Sometimes in life you have to take a leap of faith. I want to make this happen for her, Ricky, myself." Of course, we see the car emerging in Prague in slow motion during these lines.

You can hardly see Sean at all over the "more than one man" shot... if that is really him. They probably didn't pick that shot because it was him. You don't know who it is unless you are a super-sleuth on this forum. One oddity about Sean as that we never hear him actually say he's falling in love with Emily or "crazy" for her... or even seeing a future with her in these promos. Maybe he will in the actual episodes. He says he can step into any role, yet is completely honest in London when he tells the crowd that there may not be love there now, but he is hopeful.

With Arie, Emily says there's "a part of me" (Jef) that doesn't trust him (over Arie). This is MOST fascinating since we have yet to see any "conflict" between these two brobuddies. The wordplay in these scenes are most interesting since we aren't 100% certain Jef is actually talking to Arie about a potential villain. Supposedly Ryan, Chris and Doug are being set up for potential "falls" first, but Arie is not entirely off the hook. He is seen knocking on Emily's door, which resembles a prison door! (A prisoner of love?) He also talks a bit like Ben did in his post-episode #5 promo with Courtney. (Benny Boy fussed that he can't be with a woman he doesn't trust, but just says "uhhhhhh" with Courtney despite all of the catty warnings.) The music played here is the same in both promos and we even have "like" rose ceremonies involved.

What I still think happens is that Arie is Speed Racer, being light on the breaks and "picturing" Emily as his wife pretty early on. He is NOT analyzing the situation slowly like Jef... and may not even speculate that Jef is a rival for her affections. This sets up for quite a shockeroo late in the season. She, in turn, doesn't want to hurt him since he is pretty intense in his feelings. Now... does he come back in the finale or not?

Alright, something that has been bugging me all week is the VO of Emily saying, "everything is so perfect between us" around the :35 mark of the new preview when she's kissing Chris. I'm surprised no one else has brought it up, but then again, I'm not a sleuther by any means, so maybe it's insignificant.

Anyway, to me, that [completely canned] line was put in there for a reason. Could that be in reference to Arie and their seemingly "perfect" relationship? Does it mean that things, at least in her mind, were not actually perfect between the two of them? OTOH, it almost sounds like she was trying to convince herself that things were perfect between her and [Arie?]. Or maybe it's a combination of both of the above. Regardless, something is up with that line; maybe someone more experienced than me wants to take a stab at it?

Ugh! That word "perfect" is not a good thing... "perfect like Brad". It could be that Chris is "too good to be true" and she learns something that proves their relationship isn't true. It is interesting that Jimmy Kimmel (interviewing Emily) did NOT include Chris in his top 4 picks, substituting Ryan. We also have him screaming "Emily"... alone.

OK... let's break this down guy by guy here...

Lines in () are NOT spoken over the guy but precede or follow the key words in question and put the words in perspective.

Chris... (not what he seems apparently)

Speaking: It's breathtaking. I've never been to a place like this before / I feel like I can fall in love with you / Emily!!! / I believe so much in me and you that I can see myself with you for the rest of my life

Emily speaking: Everything is so perfect between us

Another guy speaking: He's on a professional league of cockiness (John)

Arie... (clearly getting the "prisoner of love" or "trapped in the reality TV bubble" edit, hinting a possible Jeremy/Reid/Ryan Park stunt)

Speaking: When I look at Emily, I really picture her as my wife and I know I'm falling in love with her / I have to say something to her because it makes me uncomfortable / (talking to Emily) Um... basically / That is so cool / ... and it is nice to finally have that point where you just know

Emily speaking: just doesn't trust him / I would be lying / (I want this to work) so bad / It's moments like these / (speaking to him) (If things keep going this way) nothing will make me happier / I just feel really guilty

Another guy speaking: He's competing with all of us (Jef)

Sean... (mute on screen... The Phantom. Was it Life & Style suggesting he's the one? Or were they just guessing?)

Emily speaking: (I've given this my heart and soul) and if I walk away with nothing... / remind me even more (why I'm here) / If things keep going this way...

(Now... "more than one person and that is really scary" is spoken over a "dot" in the ocean. Some think he is in this shot but I feel it is insignificant regardless.)

Ryan... (looks like he changes his mind once he finds what he's looking for... but... too late!)

Speaking: Oh my goodness, look at this / This girl has what I'm looking for / (to Emily) I see in you a lot of the things I look for

Emily speaking: Isn't that so cool? / why I'm here (ha ha! to help Ryan carry groceries!)

Another guy speaking: It's nice to finally... (Arie)

Jef... (Man! This guy is slow in opening up to her.)

Speaking: I feel like there could be something good with us / Right now, I'm crazy about this girl / He said to us this morning that he's competing with all of us to win Emily basically and she's the trophy / He's in it for, like, the prize of Emily / I think I would be the luckiest guy in the world to have a future with Emily and I can see it

Emily speaking: There's just a part of me that... / if I wouldn't be absolutely devastated (obviously she is scared to make that "leap of faith" with Jef for some reason) / what I want at the end of all this / I'm falling in love with...

Another guy speaking: (It's nice to finally) have that point (where you just know) (Arie voice-over, the "point" being the Utah hometown)

When Emily says "he is not here fo me", somebody is slightly off camera as a cluster of guys minus Chris and Ryan are observing suspiciously.

I think these Ryan, Arie and Chris lines are intended to be one long sentence: "I see in you a lot of the things I look for and it is nice to finally have that point where you just know. I believe so much in me and you that I can see myself with you for the rest of my life." The words "have that point where" cover a shot of Jef and Emily in Utah resembling Ryan and Trista in Colorado.

JBF, I love the "Yeah?" picture in your signature! Jef is just so unassuming when it comes to things on this show. I loved his "Yeah?", as in, it was almost as if he wasn't correlating her speech and him being the focus of it and getting the rose.

I could be wrong, but I think she was a bit on the Ashley/Bentley train with Ryan. I think it is "him". Of course, I'll say THINK, since my ears are as old as everybody else's.

You are probably right that she is discussing Ryan... or Doug... or somebody other than Arie. Yet, why have that voice-over on Arie and then show him in a "film noir" set-up, appearing rather menacing knocking on a door? This evolving edit for Arie in these promos (but not in the episodes apparently) is baffling to me.

It took me a while to figure out the hidden messages of past promos, but I have slowly learned that each has them, intended towards one or more contestants on the show. Ashley's May 2011 promo was clearly set up for William to see, since something bad happened to him... or he did something to himself... that Fleiss & Co. feels is none of our business. He is featured prominently in that one and you get hints when you observe all of his scenes and voice-overs.

More importantly, the mid-season promo shown after the Hong Kong episode in June and shown twice when it aired the 4th of July focuses on Ben Flajnik, who supposedly got very upset at the final rose ceremony and Ashley is clearly crying on screen that her day was ruined. All final rose ceremony shots are of Ben, not JP. Of course, we didn't see any of this drama (that Jason Mesnick saw in an uncut preview version) in the finale aired August 1st since, by that time, Ryan Park either turned them down (or they changed their mind) and Ben was being groomed as the next lead, requiring some "sprucin' up" in his edit. Constantine early in that promo voices that he doesn't feel ready to propose to Ashley. He stated this in episode#5 (Chiang Mai) over a slow pan on Ben's face, but says it in this promo over a gooey-eyed JP who can't stop watching Ashley leave in her green mini-skirt. (Yeah, many screencapped that shot here.) Clearly Ben never gave Ash that same look and he should understand the "why" of her chosing JP over him. Ryan's line "It's been a lot harder than I thought it would be because obviously her heart is not into it" is sympathetic to Ben's plight since he went through rejection twice in Taiwan and Fiji. JP is forgiving of Ben as he states over a shot of Ashley hugging Ben "It makes it a little more difficult for me knowing that she’s probably not in love with me." Remember how we all questioned why JP never said that on screen? Mark my word. He recorded it post show for a reason... probably like Joe demanding that Jef take the leap of faith and WANT to do it for Emily, Ricki and himself.

So what is going on with Emily's? Why is Emily's "a part of me" (shot of Jef) not trusting Arie? She keeps pleading that she feels guilty and doesn't want guys to be heartbroken. SOMETHING happens with Arie late in the game that almost-but-not quite upsets the applecart. We see so little of Sean, but not because there is any "issue" with him. Sean wasn't a "problem", but Arie may have been... and whatever he did might have impacted matters, at least temporarily, in Curaçao.

Since Emily is chirping how happy she is post-show, my guess is that Jef stepped in on cue. That is, assuming Jef is the one she's engaged to.

Now, Emily does say in an episode #1 voice-over that Arie "exceeded my expectations" much like Ashley did William (exact same words) and Jillian of Reid (similar words). This, to me, sounds like Emily is worried about Arie post-show in some way...

After doing all the PI SC's all season and keeping a close eye on them I believe all the PI's with this background shown in epi. 5,6 and 7 (and wearing a black tank top in all of them) were filmed after the season had ended, to fill in the story. JMO

I suspect they were filmed at the same time as she was doing the media rounds:
