JBF I love your posts, do you think that the clocks have something to do with the message she put in the 1st clock with Joe, "...to stand the test of time..."
The clocks mean something; you're right. You know how the guys keep on talking about fairytales for some odd reason, particularly Jef. Well to me, the most popular fairytale in my mind is Cinderella, right? "When the clock strikes 12..." Haha, it's funny because the engagement happens after midnight...

Sounds good to me. On people.com, she says "Joe made me laugh all day, said all of the right things, and couldn't have been more of a gentleman, but I knew that we were just in different place in our lives." Different place... wrong time... and the fireworks going off right after she dumps him.

Because she was waiting for the fireworks, no fireworks with Joe so she watches them alone (waiting to share fireworks with someone-figuaratively) - when else do they occur - I know they were on the gd with the boat race guys and she watches them with all of the guys but Jef is the one with his arm around her and Arie is nearby, do we see them again?
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.

We've seen a clip of Em and Arie watching fireworks together.

Are these clips the LCD or FD? Also is there typically an indication of the order they film and show the Htd , FD and LCD ?
Fireworks you mentioned, we had fire works for Joe leaving, Jef, Arie, Ryan and Kalon then Arie again. I'm not understanding the significance you referenced. Joe they were after he left, the GD they implied via Arie it was as Jef moment and Aries is still undetermined.
I really don't know what all of the fireworks business is about, but the bolded part is an obvious clue. Jef getting the rose = fireworks. When Emily discussed Joe's departure with the guys (those fireworks went off right after he was dumped by her in West Virginia), the camera panned on Jef. In other words, Joe's dumping = Jef... in some way.

More silly stuff... Sean got photographed kissing at the same spot where Emily and Ricki took pictures earlier in the episode. According to Ricki, that is the place where the dragon lives...? Somebody can correct me on that.
Oh NeonRose, we all hope I am just pooping out silly ideas here and none of it will happen, but Fleissmeister has been fantasizing a three ring affair for years...
I love your ideas JBF! :) I know that three ring affair would be a dream for them..But it is terrible..I can't even picture that!
Does anyone remember when Arie, Sean and Jef were reported to have been back home? Wasn't it reported that Arie and Sean showed up on the same day and Jef showed up several days later? If I am remembering correctly, wouldn't it be weird for two of the F3 to return on the same day?

Yup, all three finalists are involved in the finale. Something may have happened between Emily and Arie that initially prompted her to dump him, but that "second guessing" brought him back. She speaks favorably of him in interviews and in her third blog. We need to compile as many of her PIs and VOs concerning Arie to predict what exactly happens. The overall "vibe" I am getting from the edit is that he worries too much and tries too hard... and may take his final act worse than past contestants like Jeremy, Reid and Ryan Park. We are still unsure if he comes back himself or she requests him back. I am speculating the former, but could be dead wrong here.
A sampling of episode #1 voice-overs:
to make sure I get that. Feelings (will be get hurt) (Chris)
The way I am reading this... Chris may be foreshadowing some sort of an emotional breakdown involving both him and Arie later in the season. Apparently Sean does not get upset. Maybe he will be surprised like Charlie Maher in Trista's season, but he will also support any decision Emily makes. Apparently, both Arie and Chris have some sort of struggle with rejection and may feel there is a "dot dot dot" here that isn't "period-ed". However, Chris' bobbleheaded edit indicates that he is in deeper water with Emily than Arie ever is. He may talk too much with other guys and isn't always truthful with her.
You exceeded my expectations (Emily)
Whatever Arie did "wrong", Emily long since forgave him. (Cassie or no Cassie... and there's a 50% chance we will see none of this on screen.) Ashley gave the same line to William Holman, who had an emotional breakdown after the comedy roast. William was being extremely hard on himself long after she had gotten over it, even hinting suicide in one Chiang Mai voice-over.
The guys are putting so much pressure on themselves (Emily taps him as she voice-overs)
This, I feel is the most important line in episode #1, since we actually see Emily touch HIM. Quite often, but not always, Arie has his hand on her rather than the other way around.
I wouldn’t have the feelings (that I hope to have) (Emily speaking… camera switches from Arie to Jef for the second part)
This is interesting when compared with voice-overs Ben used with Nicki. Some of us have speculated that she was a "Graham" of sorts, a frontrunner before something happened, or maybe she was better "on paper" than with Ben's own feelings... and he focused more on Courtney. Who knows? That season was such a mess to figure out. It does appear here that Emily did have strong feelings for Arie at certain points of her "journey", but the feelings she "hopes to have" still are with Jef. Another thing that I noticed. Dolly Parton's hope that Emily finds "true love" could be intended for both her and Arie. That "true love" is not between them, but they both deserve it... maybe? Grasping at straws here.
Now, going by the Jef face-matching-voice-overs, she is still on the fence during much of the process because he is so slow in opening up. Jef is still a "work in progress", not a done deal. Emily's feelings for him are still stronger than Arie, enough to impact her elimination process. When the camera panned on Jef as she discussed Joe's dumping in episode #2, it was obvious to me that Joe was the first of Jef's top competitors that Meet & Greet night (even though we didn't see Joe talking to her). This was supposed to be a "sign" to Jef that she liked him more than Joe enough NOT to give him another chance with her. I also suspect that Tony was a key competitor as well and Emily continuing to read Ryan's letter while Tony sat was done on purpose. Tony's departure was half his doing and half hers... he missed his child, but you know the handlers probably "fed and encouraged" his feelings to make him do a more honest "miss my kid" departure to match Ashley's (also episode #3 but less honest) Bentley departure. To be frank, Tony talked more about his kid than Emily anyway.

JBF, I believe Arie comes back too...but not because Em wants him to....I believe it is totally producer induced!!!

Aw shucks! Arie had a chance to be next Bachelor based on his performance in the finale and Roberto got it.

Excellent post.
The bolded reminded me of what she said in a PI following her date with Arie, something along the lines of being relieved that there would be "someone" there for her. It makes me wonder if Arie was sort of a backup all along ... someone who wasn't her first choice out of the gate but after their date, she considered a strong possibility if she didn't get that feeling she was hoping to have or if the one she really wanted didn't end up wanting her back. Then she let her relationship for Arie progress because she was unsure of where she stood with Jef, all the while hoping that Jef would return her feelings? Just an idea.
I agree that it seemed like Joe must have been one of her initial favorites, which explains why she was so upset when the connection didn't end up being there. Seemed like panic over whether this whole process was going to work at all. I wonder if that contributed to why Jef didn't get a date until late ... maybe after the disappointment of the Joe date, she wanted to feel Jef out some more before getting her hopes up.
Thanks for the food for thought.
