Well Millsy is harping on that movie as the theme for this season for some reason. I can't find the M&G tweet (did someone else tweet about The Vow?) but I found this one from the premier --

Well in the real story, I remember reading it was their faith that brought them back together, so is he referring to "faith". I don't know see what else this movie offers in comparison to this season. Guess we'll see.

Interesting, the movie is based losely (very losely) on a true story. In the movie, she is expected to choose a certain life and boyfriend/husband, but she is very different from the rest of her family and chooses a different life. After the accident she loses her memory and Channing Tatum tries desperately to help her remember.
In time, she finds her way again to him.
Very sad. I just wanted to hug Channing the entire movie.

I've discussed this with another poster and the only analogy we could come up with is that since Millsy tweeted this the night of M&G filming, he was not comparing what he was seeing with how the movie ends - he was comparing it to how the movie starts. He was observing that Em was attracted to someone the night of M&G filming. In the movie, the lead starts off wanting to find her old life - she hooks up with an old college bf - but in the end, picks a new life by going back to her ex-husband. Since Millsy didn't know what Em would do in the end, he was comparing Em to the movie's lead because Em was attracted to her old life - the racecar driver.

It's interesting that Millsy re-tweeted this during airing of M&G. Why? Does Em's storyline end the same way as the movie's?

Because that's the script/theme of the season?? Fleiss tweeted the original The Vow tweet during the M&G. The editors all work for him as well as the producers who pull strings during production.

I know nothing about the story/movie ... but how does going back to her ex-husband translate into a new life?

If they are drawing parallels between the movie's storyline and Em's storyline then Em picks a new life (Jef) over her old familiar life (Arie racecar driver). But this means that there was something going on from day one between Em and Jef for them to think that Em's storyline was going to play out exactly the same as the movie's. Was there a lot of Jef/Em footage from M&G that shows that connection on the cutting room floor? And, if so, why was Jef given an ep 5 1:1 date?

ETA: I just don't know if they are drawing parallels with the end or the start of the movie.
