it looks like the people who got eliminated early are angry and bitter. In their post show talks they always chime in with what haters of the lead are already saying. They don't say what they really thought about the lead when they got eliminated.

For example, i remember lurking here last year and someone posted here that Stephen, the hairdresser in Ashley's season, told someone that yes, Ashley is that annoying, exactly how we saw her on TV, that he wanted to go home, and that Bentley was well-liked....its their egos

Same with this Joe guy, he was cold when he got rejected. And he was not that enthusiastic to get the date card with his name (even Ashley S noticed this). But he still acted cold and pissed. Since most people who do not like Emily question her money-hunger, of course that's what he'll say of her.

Oh bother! SO the young woman who comes from a comfortable backround, has uber=comfortable grandparents who are heavily invested in her daughter, doesn't want to be with a pauper. Big woop. God forbid that I am ever single again, because I certainly would not be looking for a day laborer. When I was a single Mom dating, if a man could not be a good father to my daughter <---that includes being a great provider, he didn't get another date. It is no longer about phermoines, animal attraction to the exclusion of all else...because there is a chiild involved.

And I don't know how Seacrest knows this, but he said the guys this season are the richest of any season.

I was more cynical about Emily's part in that.... cause I really do think that Em did want the Bach'ette gig, but can I see tptb manipulating events?? most definitely!!! especially when Brad messed up their plans for Em being the next 'ette (and subsequently having to have a Ben season :giggle: ) by choosing her despite their attempts at discouraging him. This season they have Arie in thier sights (Cassie recommending him for Emily wasn't to give her an everlasting love, it was more about him being next Bach as a hot race car driver.... broken hearted because Emily, who's ex fiance died on way to racing event, couldn't bare to choose a man that brought back painful memories...blah, blah, blah) No way were they going to let Emily mess up their next season, not the way Brad did... not if MF had a say in it.

The timing of when Em was told the Cassie story may have raised suspicions about Arie's motives for being on the show - how nicely this ties in with the JKimmel interview re: guys who come on to be next TB. She likely flew off the handle - we'll see her doing that a lot this season - and sends Arie home at F3. She may have been waffling since she says she has a good read on the guys' characters, but I'm sure there was a lot of self-doubt raised by TPTB. She likely questioned if Arie is "too good to be true" (from ep 3 description) - he's everything she's ever wanted and she would have the life she might have had with Ricky - but is he saying all the right things because he's angling to be TB? TPTB may have been reassuring her and whispering in her ear, if he's really here for you, he'll come back for you - all the while crossing their fingers he doesn't.

It was a gamble, but it was a win-win for TPTB. If Arie doesn't come back, he didn't love Em enough and they will polish him up to be the next TB. If he does come back, MF gets his love story. MF must have looked at the odds and thought there was at least a 51% chance that Arie may not come back if he did manipulate the situation.

The problem is if Arie doesn't come back, how does MF show a love story for Jef + Em? Is all this Jef promotion meant to shore up a fledgling relationship and make it appear as if it's a bona fide relationship?

But if Arie does come back and becomes F1, then what is all this Jef promotion for? Probably to give the false impression that Jef is F1.

In any case, if Arie comes back, it's game over. Em falls in love this season - I know that's been hotly debated over on the Kelly Live thread - so she chooses Arie.

I do see parallels between Brad and Em's seasons with both leads falling for someone who was not MF's choice. The leads in both seasons fell for someone MF wanted to recycle as a new lead. Brad stood his ground. Did Em and Arie fall victims to the manipulation?

Point is that most people, if they choose a life partner with both their head and their heart, choose an equal in social status. Wherever the money comes from--and I am curious where Em's wealth came from--the fact remains that Em operates on a different level than a farmer. Plus, she has a child. She needs to be smart about choosing someone who she doesn't have to support.
