Wetpaint article giving a little more insight of the M & G

What to Expect in The Bachelorette 2012 Premiere: Helicopters, Skateboards, and Emily Maynard’s First Rose
by Whitney Ricketts

We’re just days away from the premiere of The Bachelorette Season 8, when Emily Maynard will begin her onscreen love journey to find a husband — as well as a dad to her 6-year-old daughter, Ricki. So, what can you expect from the first two hours of the season? Spoiler alert: It’s already hard to pick a favorite among Em’s 25 guys, from the soft-spoken Jef Holm to the endlessly earnest Doug Clerget. Here’s our rundown of the action coming at you Monday, May 14, 2012, on ABC:

EMILY MEETS THE GUYS
- Emily wears a gorgeous gold gown while nervously greeting all 25 suitors
- Not one but two different guys greet Emily in Spanish
- Ryan Bowers nervously reads Emily a sweet handwritten note
- Kalon McMahon quotes Bright Eyes, calls himself a “reformed womanizer”

MEET & GREET
- A feud brews between Kalon and… basically everyone else
- Sean Lowe gets major Notebook heartthrob points when he gracefully steps in on another guy’s one-on-one time
- Arie Luyendyk, Jr., pulls Emily aside to share his emotional connection to part of her past — and asks her if she’s okay with the news
- Emily takes an instant liking to skateboarder Jef, adorably gushing, “Jef makes me feel kind of like a nerd. He is super cool, and I hope that he thinks I’m cool, too.” Aw!

Oh, Jesse. Always such a feel-good guy. I will agree, however, that, at this point, Brad seemed to be the gold-medal winner. Not only was he head-over-heels for her, but I do think he probably would have done anything for her. I wish that we knew more about the reasons that they fell apart beyond "poking the bear." Was the relationship strictly a precursor to Emily being the lead?

When I heard that Emily was going to be the lead, I had a pipe dream that it'd end with Brad's return. I say that knowing next to nothing about their relationship when the cameras stopped, and they visited each other in TX and NC.

I do wonder if Emily had a frontrunner and if things changed mid-season. If her frontrunner fell out of her favor, I imagine that she had to gain ground really quickly with the other guys. I wonder if we'll see hints of the truth throughout the season.

Question for you all...at the ATFR, Brad quoted Emily as saying more than once "I just can't do this anymore"? Saying this while the season was still airing....what, exactly, was making her say this?

The Bachelorette's Sean Lowe: 10 Things You Need to Know
about 13 hours ago by Mehera Bonner
Related: Season 8, Sean Lowe

We hope Emily Maynard loves herself an eight pack, because Bachelorette front-runner, Sean Lowe, is rocking a seriously studly body. Check out 10 things you need to know about this eligible piece of man candy to prepare for The Bachelorette's premiere on May 14th!

1. He's From the Lone Star State
Sean was born and bred in Arlington, Texas, so you can bet he rocks a charming Texan twang. Even better? He's sure to win Emily over with his southern charm!

2. He's an Insurance Salesman by Day and a Male Model by... Later in the Day
Sean's a salesman for State Farm Insurance, but c'mon –– he'd be nuts not to put that amazing body to good use! Sean models for fitness magazines in his free time, to which we say: Thank you.

3. He's a College Graduate
Sean might be a blonde bombshell, but he's no slouch when it comes to getting his edu-macation on. Sean attended Texas A&M before transferring to Kansas State University, which he graduated from in 2006. Two schools in four years? He's so smart!

4. He's a Football Player
In case there aren't already enough reasons to crush on Sean, you'll be thrilled to know that he's a football player. Sean played linebacker at Lamar High School (he was MVP!), and continued the sport at Kansas State University. No wonder he has such a rockin' bod.

5. He's a Match Maker
Sean played cupid for his sister, Shay, who he paired up with one of his football teammates. Shay and her man are married with children and living happily ever after, and it's all thanks to Sean' matchmaking skills! Wow, he was so destined to star on The Bachelorette.

6. Jesus Is His Homeboy
Sean is best buds with the man upstairs, and cares deeply about religion. He's a member of The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was involved in his church's youth group. Hope Emily likes her men with a side of spirituality!

7. He Dated a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader
Wave your pom-poms in the air like you just don't care, y'all! Sean is definitely a ladies' man, and used to be in a serious relationship with Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, Brooke Sorenson. Good to know that he's a serial monogamist!

8. He's an Animal Lover
Meet Sean's pals-with-paws, Lola the Boxer and Ellie the Lab! Do you think these cuddly cuties will join him on any dates with Emily?

9. He's a Family Man
Judging from the numerous photos of Sean on the internet (and the fact that he shares a business with his sister and her hubby), it's safe to assume that this bachelor puts family first. We approve!

10. He's 6 Feet Tall
Emily better get used to standing on her tip-toes, because Sean is 6 foot, three inches tall. He's towering over the competition — literally!

I thought it was her watching him with the other girls, especially Chantal. I remember she said to Chris "he didn't have to give them so much to work with!".

Emily was extremely insecure during the the season being televised. Brad had a battle on his hands every Monday/Tuesday, poor chap.
He may have been a bear when poked but Emily had major issues. I would hope that she has got that out of her system because she is definitely going to have a situation on her hands come monday if she did in fact choose someone.

Veg - I too hoped that she would come around to Brad at some point.

I do get a feeling of the DeAnna season. Hopefuly Emily was smart enough to use an exit clause and not have to choose someone just because its in her contract.

It probably wasn't just that. I think that we tend to forget that also at the very same time was the extremely sticky and humiliating situation of Brad's past with Laurel which was publicly playing out all over the media in print and on the TV. There was absolutely no way for Emily to avoid it, and to make matters worse, Laurel lived right there in Austin where Emily was expected to move and join Brad. It wasn't even as though Laurel lived and had her business on the other side of Austin either. Laurel was another gigantic thorn I'm afraid.
If Brad admitted to any of the Laurel on and off 8 years situation and/or how close it was to the beginning of the filming of the season, it could well have fed into Emily's insecurity/trust issues.

Thanks all...just never understood the 'blissful' period/so soon after she was picked as F1, already having issues. Appears to be coping issues more on Emily's side. Seems Brad couldn't redeem himself in her eyes!

I agree with all the stated above. Emily admitted how insecure she felt while the airing of the show, and I think it was a snowball effect of Laurel, Chantal, and her emotions.

I wish this guy would SHUT UP...he doesn't know Emily, he has NO idea what her intentions are. As for her and Brad who knows what happened...I thought he had ended it a couple of times. Jesse talks about everyone who does this show as being a "fame whore" or greedy....Guess he doesn't think much of his wife then. I personally don't think Emily is hurting for money, pretty sure her parents were loaded, but again not knowing her personally I could be wrong. This guy is the same one who posted the news article of himself MULTIPE times on twitter...he is a DOUCHE, and I wish he would shut up about EVERYONE else and worry about himself!! Sorry I am done venting now :pullouthair: !!!
