Who do you think the F1 will be?
Re: Who do you think the F1 will be? - Thread #1
I'm going to go with my own favourites determined merely by looking at their photographs and NOT taking their bios into account.
In no particular order .........Chris, Doug, Ryan and BSG. Now if any of these or none of these make it to the F4 or even the F1 is anyones guess....hopefully not Emilys (as in I hope she doesn't just guess but picks well ).
Since I have 4 guys that have caught my eye plus a couple of more who are eye candy for me - I'll be watching this season and being on the board unlike Bens season .
Just a small side note : of these 4 I like Doug the best (love his smile which reminds me of Mr Locke).... which in my world means that he will not be F1 . Let the games begin.

thanks San - you're the cutest. I missed you all too but sadly didn't see the point of posting etc. when I wasn't watching the season. My co-workers and friends were shocked.
PS - Hats off to all the sleuthers and posters who have uncovered so much prior to the season. You guys continue to amaze and entertain me season after season. Know your efforts do not go unappreciated.

I don't really have a F1 pick yet, but just based on some of the stuff I've read about the guys I think Ryan and Sean are great matches for Emily. I also liked what I saw on the date Emily had with Chris, so those are my three right now!

ironcat wrote:I definitely agree that it was the producers' interest in Ryan being the next lead (ie, the closest thing to Tebow that they're going to get) that was the biggest factor in why he got the first date, and a very public one at that, and I suspect this even superceded whether Emily pegged him as her favorite the first night or not. How much he impressed her on that date, and how much he has been impressing her since (all indications are that he's still there, correct?), we don't yet know of course. And even though episode 3 date contestants have had the advantage overall, we can't forget that just last season, an episode 2 date contestant was F1, so it could happen again. So with all that in mind, I'm not yet convinced that Ryan's odds of being Emily's choice are any poorer, or significantly less, by having gotten the first date, than the guys who got the episode 3 dates, because of what I could envision as extenuating circumstances.
This sound similar to what happened with Kacie last season. Then it was announced that Emily would be the next Bachelorette and no one from Ben's season would be. So I think anything is possible. The difference is I can't think of a contestant who was on any of the previous Bachelorette seasons TPTB would be eager to make the Bachelor 17.
So Ryan might eventually be their front runner if he isn't Emily's F1.

Is Ryan going to have the same problem that TBow would have had if TBow had agreed to be the Bachelor? Ryan is obviously a practicing Christian. We know that because we heard him give that long testimony to those kids where he spelled it out in no uncertain terms. Now it does appear that he has a drink in his hand, but that doesn't mean he is much of a drinker, and we found out somebody in one of the recent seasons faked it. She/he had something else in the glass all the way through.
Ryan will of course be willing to wine and dine Emily, but then Emily is one woman. Would Ryan be willing to kiss and and carry on - even lead-on and come near to lying to - a bunch of women? That is not Christian behavior, and if Ryan understands that is what will be expected of him - which I don't know that he will understand that side of it - will he be willing to compromise himself? Are his standards that high? I know that Tim Tbow's were which I think is one reason he was laughing at even the idea.

I think the difference is Ryan signed up to be on The Bachelorette. I can't see Tebow ever agreeing to be on this show. So I wouldn't be shocked if they offered Ryan the lead role and he accepted the offer. JMO

Bloomers you bring up a very good point also in regards to Emily. Of course, all the leads need to 'act' to some extent to keep the show rolling till the end...how much 'acting' will Emily be able to do or feel 'comfortable' doing? Will she 'hold back' emotions on all the guys or 'share the love' like our past lead (to a much smaller extent, of course)? I feel these guys are going to need some reassurance as we've been told they are all competing, in the true sense of the word. It'll be interesting, to say the least!

I am waiting to find out who had the 1-on-1 dates in WV and Dollywood before I determine who I think might be the F1 this season. I think Ryan and Chris could be in the F4, but at this point anything is possible.

I almost hate to bring this up, but does anyone else remember Jake talking about how his church nominated him to be the Bachelor and how he was going to "restore some sense of decency and morality" to the franchise? :puke: And believe me, I have no interest in drawing a parallel between Jake and Ryan, since at this point in time, Ryan is about as appealing to me as Jake was unappealing :vomit: . But unless Ryan is a practicing virgin, who doesn't believe in even kissing before marriage, I don't think he will have a problem if he becomes the next lead. That said, I also don't think we would have to worry about the producers encouraging him to go skinnydipping, darn it! :hidingchair

I have the feeling if Miss Courtney was the lead this season, she'd be hanging out in "allllooootttt" of stairwells....wine bottle, 2 glasses in tow and donning her snuggly, white robe!
