[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I have no idea how strict he is in his religion. Apparently, he claims to be half Mormon.IrishGal wrote:eightfifteen wrote:I already voted Jef, still not budging from that. I will guess Arie F2 and Sean F3.
Is Jef a strict Mormon which would make him a teetotaler? I just can't imagine Emily dining at a top-notch restaurant and ordering iced tea rather than a fine wine. Ooops, iced tea would be a no-no, too. I'm assuming she has no objection to alcohol given Brad.
If you look at his pictures, Jef is very ingrained in his family. My suspicion is that Jef is maybe rebelling just a little bit - pulling a way ("half Mormon"), but he will come all the way back, especially when he marries and starts a family of his own because that is what he knows.
Let's watch the Hometown and the way he acts around the family. We will be able to immediately tell how Jef "feels" about things Mormon. Also, just like with Kacie, there won't be any alcohol on that dinner table. There won't even be any iced tea this time. I don't know what they are going to drink - maybe water?

I cheated and looked at the results without voting.
At THIS point, I will have to agree that Arie is the frontrunner unless he becomes a "Graham" and something happens.
Often things do, of course.
We can pretty much throw out any ol' patterns in editing that we grew accustomed to in the past, determining who is "final one" by how the slice & dice is done... or by rose ceremonies... or limo orders (although Courtney was consistent there). Reality Steve probably upset the applecart early on, first in Ali's season when Roberto was mostly "Find Waldo" in a few mid-season episodes so that those following Steve could stay convinced Ali chose nobody. Then again, Roberto did get the trademark "guitar rift" of Ryan Sutter & Trista that also was delivered to Emily and JP, other final ones, and... *gasp*... final three dumpee Nicki last season... TWICE (along with those dopey hummingbirds that were actually fishy red herrings). Nope, they can't stay consistent for too many seasons in a row.
Again, blame Steve. His spoiling a full three weeks or so before premiere time allowed for more "tinkering" than usual, resulting in an outlandish season that also made little sense story-wise. It even appeared that the Evil Editing Elves couldn't keep their hands off of the material while it was being loaded onto delivery trucks! (Heck, I can easily see one editor hollering "Wait!! Gotta add one more smacktalk line from Courtney!") So sloppy was the material on screen that even Ben got confused... and broke up with Courtney, cheating for tabloid snaps as his payback-is-a-biotch ammunition.
I guess it all depends on whether or not Fleiss feels We The Viewers can "handle the truth" and not supply so much "fiction". If we get spoiled correctly by Steve... good. Then we can sit back and determine what is REALLY important: Will Emily and Guy X make it post-show as a couple? Let's face it, that is so much more important than guessing "who gets picked" at finale time. Unfortunately, Fleiss (like Burnett and SURVIVOR) still thinks we want "gotcha" endings, not realistic endings.
Emily is semi-religious but probably not passionately so. Potential dumpees we think will be final one, maybe or maybe not Jef from Utah ("assuming" he isn't... although he still could be final one), will bring up God at least once. Emily is "sweet and wholesome" to the general public (even if Brad claimed she has a potty mouth).
My guess is that, if he IS the final one, they will probably show Arie being aloof and slightly seedy when he is simply an "average" sometimes-good-sometimes-bad guy. In photos, he does come off as standoff-ish... he is probably just shy despite his very public persona. They will milk that as some sort of obstacle of not being willing to propose a.k.a. Ian McKee style. In fact, Ian is the one I keep thinking of when I see his pictures and I can't figure out why exactly, since these two look absolutely nothing alike.
We will have to see how he and the other finalists appear in episode #1. Courtney was edited like Bentley, biting her lip that first rose ceremony while Chris Harrison talked and being shown with some quirky orchestration. Already, they were tinkering with the very first show since there was STILL enough time to do since Reality Steve spoiled.
Oh...
Actually, come to think of it, there IS one thing that is consistent SO FAR with final one picks, more so with Bachelorette than Bachelor.
We only see final one GUYS shirtless when they are with the lead on a beach/pool setting or... not being hugged by a homophobic Bentley. THAT is definite and may be one little clue that Fleiss thinks we haven't caught on yet... even if he changes it later if necessary. Kiptyn, Graham, Jeremy, Chris Lambton, Ryan Park and West jogging in their episode #1 intros, Jake Pavelka with Jillian (although he still couldn't keep it on when he was a lead or a Chippendale)... the list goes on. Even the big weight-lifter Ryan Sutter was only shirtless SOLO his season when preparing for his ring-sizing; the fact that there are many photos/videos of him WITH Trista shirtless may confuse some of you THINKNG he is an exception to the rule. You knew they would all be dumpees at some point in the season simply because their abs were front center, telling the female viewers "Look at me! I'm still on the market!" All you have to do is hear Emily croon about "the bods" in her end-of-premiere-promo and see who gets profiled front and center... yup, those dudes are still all up for sale.
Same goes for the ladies. Yes, Courtney was bare buns, topless "native" in Panama and flaunting her bod. Yet, who was watching her at all times? Benny Boy, of course. The fact that Melissa was bikini-ed all Jason's season, while Molly only was WITH Jason (apart from fleeting shots sunbathing in the group) should have been a red flag that a switch would occur at the end of that season. Fleiss loves flauting the Sex Appeal of his unpaid stars and starlettes, but he showcases them unevenly. He knows the ladies were not foaming in the mouth over Ed's green skimpies when he swam with Jillian.

Seems like a no brainer to me with Arie as final 1. Both are puppets for the show/connected to people from the show, background similar and want the attention from the press.
Anything I post means it's Just My Opinion. Don't feel like posting it every time I post. So, I thought I'd get that out of the way.

During Roberto's intro they showed him shirtless and shaving.

and I've watched that season twice again in the past year. Cosmo runs repeats on Sat mornings and they ran Ali's season twice in a row.....now they're running Jill's.
I will never get sick of watching Roberto.

You see, I have to chuckle a little, because I look at that avatar of Roberto, and then I look at the pic of Jef in the hammock. Jef really looks like a cutie pie 16 year old next to Roberto who is probably the same age by now.

... Yeah, anders, Roberto was shown shaving... in episode #1 no less! Not much of a view in that shot, though... like JP holding his coffee cup. They do that on occasion as long as the final one is "focused" on The Gal. He was crooning that Ali is "beautiful", so that the average viewer knew that he wasn't thinking of THEM!
By the way, I found a cluster of Arie shots. The boy is grinning ear to ear and hardly appearing "aloof", so... it is hard to determine how he will be presented. No doubt the evil little ones in editing will think of something clever and demented.

At this point, I expect Arie to be F1. This is the first season I have followed the preseason so closely. While I am curious enough to want to know details, I am not so sure this season will be as enjoyable as I originally thought.
I hope that watching the men in action brings something to the table I'm not sensing from the screencaps/promos. Glad this is her journey, just not feeling it with any of F3.
