Bloomers you are spot on with your thinking. There was so much buzz that day at the Yacht Club by the filming crew, photogs etc with Are, Sean and Jef that it makes you wonder if Emily knew they were front runners. I have also been told by a trusted source that this group date was not a "Boat Race" per se.....the producers were calling the shots behind the scenes in separate boats communicating with the boat captains/crew which boat had to be in the lead!!! I therefore refer to this date as a "BOAT EXCURSION". It will be very interesting to see who ends up "winning" this race (excursion).

The 2 on 1 date on the Venetian started after lunch and went on until after 5 pm. They stopped at Dive Board Island so Emily & the guys could go cliff jumping. I posted some info on this on the Spoiler/Screencap page.

Thank you for that confirmation! I have always said that during these competitions "the right" person/team, or whatever just "happens" - yeah right - to win.
I really caught on to it when when Wes (the country singer Jillian hankered over) and his partner somehow managed to win the scavenage hunt and then Wes won the whatever it took to win the date with Jillian. That was so fixed.
Molly won her contest I thought because she needed to have the next Ep. 4 date, and the same thing with Kirk and his contest.

Found the posts I was looking for outlining some of my thought process for the F1- Thanks for the help Bloomers!!

The first post is from April 28th

I also am wondering if, for example, she fell hard for Arie at first, she may not have found it important to prioritize getting to know the others that well.
Thinking : "This is it! This guy is my F1 and I'll just try to ride out the rest of the journey as smoothly as possible" .
Then, after getting to know Arie better because of extra dates, she may have become disillusioned with other aspects of him, and she may have decided to really check out #2 guy with the result being that the tables could have turned late in the game.

Just a thought.
Many of us have fallen for someone based upon looks, charisma, reputation, etc. only to realize after some time, that there was someone better in the "back-ground", someone who had more of the long-term values we were looking for. This 2nd person may not have had the initial WOW factor that number 1 guy had, so we may have overlooked him at first.
This may appear that we are settling for 'second best' whereas in reality, our best was just hidden from us, behind the bling of number 1 guy.

In the end, who then truly is our #1 guy?

I think Ashley had that with Bentley. JP steady and strong in the background but she was attracted to, and pursued Bentley first.
And Please, don't think that I am comparing Arie to Bentley. Just comparing the process.

Many are jumping to conclusions as to who she is really "into" based upon a very LIMITED amount of pics that we have received.
NO ONE on here knows for sure how much QUALITY time she has had with any of these last four guys.
Many are assuming that past processes will be duplicated for this season. ie. no 2 1 on 1 dates, etc.
TPTB have been tweeting often that EMILY is her own person, doing her own thing... IT could be a VERY different process this season.

Sean is my favorite for Emily, not for me.
Therefore, I really hope he will be F1.

And as far as "unlikely" goes, in reality, there has been VERY LITTLE info to go on as to who she is really into.
We have pics of her kissing Arie, Chris and Jef.

Who is to say that nobody but the show's cameras caught her kisses with Sean???

You can't tell me that she hasn't kissed him yet... he is F3 after all.
We just haven't seen those kisses AND they may have been VERY steamy for all we know!!!

Bloomers & Kikill: Yes to re-confirm, the boat race and 2 on 1 date on the Venetian happened on separate days. I tried to find out who the blonde guy on the Venetian was but due to waivers/confidentiality agreements being signed, I was only told little pieces of information.

I had to laugh about being told about the so called group date boat race being rigged, not surprising.

Hmm, I don't understand that logic. If she was really interested in a guy, you'd think she would want a date before epi 5!! In the longer seasons, no one has been F1 with an epi 5 date, and they've always had 2 solo dates. So it would definitely be a first if both Jef & Sean had epi 5 dates, and that also tells me her original picks fell through. Don't want to see that.

Agree. My initial pic was arie f1. Im ok that he is not but I dont think the scenario of both her f2 getting only one 1on1 is a good sign. To me that means someone else (probaby arie) was her original f1 and something went wrong. I would hope that isnt the case here. Doesnt bode well for a real relationship after filming.

The contestants must know that the boat race is rigged as well right? How does the losing team feel about this? They'd know by that point Emily's not that interested in them. Must be a weird feeling.

Also, there was an article earlier that says Emily switched the guys on the team so that the guys she was most interested in would be on the same team, now I think this is true. But Sean and Jef were on two different teams, so which one was the frontrunner then?

Unfortunately Poohbear I had to leave before the group date ended so I can't confirm who actually won the so called race. Sean definitely stood out with his red shorts! The other guys must have had an inkling who the favorites were as everyone was focused on a select group for a while. The second group was rushed out just before filming started.

If the bolded is true, Jef and Arie (F3) were on the same team. Sean had Chris (F4) on his team

Looks like the F4 were divided up evenly between the two teams. So not sure if we can tell who would've been the front runners at the time... any ideas?
