Awesome job San!

I remember when people thought Ben should congratulate Ashley and JP even though he still seemed hurt by the way things ended. If Bubba becomes the next lead just like Ben I guess he has moved on to new horizons. JMO

Just catching up on everything and have just a few thoughts...well, perhaps more than a few.

I started watching this show after someone posted in the Bachelor section about how wonderful Bubba was and that he was probably not rich enough for Courtney and that she would probably be a good match for Shaun Bigos instead. For some reason this piqued my interest and I found the show. I missed a couple of episodes but quickly got caught up.

Even without any spoilers, it seemed obvious to me that Paige had it bad for Jeremiah. :arrowlove: While she clearly liked and respected Bubba, there was not the same depth of feeling, nor the same chemistry. He was the guy she wanted to be in love with. When she used her head, Bubba was the guy that ticked all the boxes on her checklist, but Jeremiah was the guy that she wanted to throw the checklist out the window for. She staight out told him she loved him! How much more clear could she have been? And yes, I know about editing, but it just felt too raw. She really wanted him to declare himself and a woman does not need that if she doesn't care.

As the season progressed, she clearly differentiated betweed Bubba and JJ. With Bubba it was all about how he had his life in order and that she would have a great life with him, he would never hurt her, he was what she always imagined she wanted, she was falling in love with him. With JJ it was always about how he couldn't open up to her, how she was afraid he would hurt her and her telling him she loved him. One was a should, while the other one already was. Someone can't hurt you if you don't really love them. :broken heart:

One of the other things that seemed obvious was that while JJ was editied to have conflict with the guys and Paige, Bubba's edit was perfect. This unfortunately, reminded me of one of my least favourite Bachelors, Jake. He too was always edited as perfect and set up as the next Bachelor and it seemed that that was the direction Bubba was headed to. From what I have gathered about editing, the F1 is edited with some type of conflict while the F2 is edited to seem the better choice ... better to draw in fans for the next season when they are slated to be the star. Personally, I am not perfect, have never met a perfect person, and therefore, never buy when producers try to hard sell me a perfect person.

And lastly, while I really didn't like Shaun Bigos when I first started watching (shades of Ben's Courtney), I must admit, that he kind of grew on me. :shocked!: It makes me wonderr why they softened his edit? Fallback, perhaps if Bubba turns them down? Could a city guy star in this?

To a certain degree I think it's different in that on TB we got to see ATFR where the lead and the F2 were able to get 'closure'. Whether Ben congratulated her or not, he still said that he was happy for her and that he was now OK with the outcome - AND he moved on to his own show. SHA doesn't have an ATF so it's harder to see what the F2's state of mind is/was after the rejection. I for one am not going to harp on Bubba not speaking up, I'm just riding the PJJ love train :Clap:

This forum and another one brought me to Sweet Home Alabama, and I'm tremendously grateful to both. Such a refreshing show. Beyond falling in love with JJ and Paige, I also fell for the guys in the house. Their interactions equally engaged me and often made me laugh out loud, a unique experience that I've not had when watching the Bachelorette guys interact. The show did such a good job of running the secondary plot of the guys' "culture clash," giving them dimension beyond just "fighting" over the same girl.

Regarding Shaun, I felt the same way, and I wonder if the crew also became enamored with Shaun during his metamorphosis. His cocky attitude at the start certainly stemmed from insecurity and ignorance, but he opened up and softened. That alone speaks volumes about him.

Paige lucked out with a wonderful group of guys.

I am unbiased as I have not watched 1 minute of this show. San tweeted the video of Paige and Jeremiah. After watching this video I could see the love they shared and it was evident to me. I must say I have no idea who Bubba is and have not seen a video between the two, but I can't image it would ever be close to the same. After watching the video I decided to follow them both. To my surprise he was from MN. I tweeted him a message of congratulations. After, I headed to Paige's twitter to see her tweets and what I saw was her replying to the haters. So I went back to read all the nasty tweets and her replies. I felt so bad for her. It had me wondering if Jeremiah was a "Courtney", but from what I have found it doesn't appear so. Is their something I am missing as I don't get all the hate? What did Paige and/or Jeremiah do to deserve this? More than likely nothing, but I just wondered if there was something I don't know about as a non-viewer. Very sad.

I wish them all the happiness in the world and want nothing but the best for them always.

GG, you are in for a sweet ride almost akin the JASH's story. Don't believe the edit, just hang on 'til the end...well worth it!
