OK, I really like Ryan. He makes me laugh. The way he acts like baking cookies with her is like heaven... um... I was kinda struggling to keep a straight face. Do love the way his hands are all over Jef in that last ceremony as if to say "that gal is all yours, Buddy".

Ryan's the best! He's a nut. Seriously, though, I think that Ryan's interactions with the dudes just indicate that Ryan is comfortable with his band of brothers. He's spent years in locker rooms and on the gridiron, building relationships with men. He's a man's man. I think Jef was closest to him, and he was just excited and wanted to loosen Jef up.

I agree with you that all of the F4 may have been predestined for their ranks, but I'm not sure that they knew that unless Arie only took the spot this season in anticipation of being the next Bachelor.

No you are not. Then again, Sean gets his that same week and he is also supposedly in the final 2. We will have to see how this plays out. It is not a "typical" season many here are programmed to.

Yeah but it appears that Sean is the default F2. Any other F2 or even F3 in the history of this franchise could have got a late 5th epi 1on1 date.

You will probably think I'm a Looney Toon and, no, I am not ass-uming anything here, but...

I can't erase this peculiar feeling in the back of my mind that both Sean and Arie knew from the beginning they were destined for top 4 but not "the one". It is just a feeling I have... I fully expect to be proven wrong here. Chris may have been the last of the "innocents" to go (although the way he talks in that last episode indicates that he is "on to" Emily's schtick) and Fleiss wants to make sure there is no rage at the final rose ceremony like there may have been (careful with my words here... ta-ta-ta!) with Ben in Fiji. The fact that BOTH Sean and Jef get dates in week #5 smells pre-planned (same week as some Romeo & Juliet gig?)... just like the way they are pumping up Sean's role as the "perfect father figure" in the previews for both the season AND next week.

Hey! We just have to see Arie in Dollywood and other dates... and Sean with her too. We are getting plenty of make-out sessions here. Maybe Arie will be crying on screen. He may in fact fall head over heels in LUV with Emily and she in him. I'm game for him being a frontrunner. I may not be seeing "IT" right now like I am with Jef (or rather Emily hopping all over Jef and he looking pouty at rose ceremonies), but it is good to keep an open mind.

Jef is the most cautious finalist we have seen in ages. Emily is literally poking him with a stick. All of the "macho" guys are getting the early dates here... plus Arie. These are the ones viewers EXPECT her to wind up with, but those dates we saw already with Ryan and Joe, with both guys actually using the same lines of affection on camera and Emily practically sleepwalking through her PIs, were...

. I think he's playing it cool - playing hard to get. It's worked like a charm.

For me, it seems like Jef is thinking "what the heck am I doing here?" He has a deer in headlights look in these early shows. He reminds me of Tessa in that way, and perhaps his storyline will read that way. For the F1, there has to be something to be overcome.

:Smiley: I agree. He's marching out completely dumbfounded expressions and "Are-they-serious?" looks. He looks like he might kill Arie during the rose ceremony, and he's blown out of the water by the group-date rose. Since he's short, I'd think he'd want to be in front, but he's in the back on purpose, I think! He's probably like, "I could be building wells. Instead, I'm proposing to a puppet!"

Jef is also the person with a building conflict. He's had it since week 2: Does Emily really like me? Emily has a conflict with him: Does Jef like me?

There's no real conflict at this point with the other guys, including Arie. Not that I see.

Like I said above... I am not assuming anything here. Just "thinking out loud" to see what the feedback is, just in case I am having hallucinations.

This has probably been covered already and I missed the posts. Sorry about that. ALSO it belongs on the video discussion, not here, but while enough Eagle Eyes and Eagle Ears are investigating this thread, I just want to doublecheck...
