Hi Gina, That strikes me as interesting as well for two reasons
1. They posted the cats so close together- doesn't seem random
2. I don't think they have posted any other cats.

So either it does have something to do with the show- inside joke on the number of cats in Croatia etc, or the editiing (which they probably wouldnt know about) or they were together or talking to each other about cats.
I think it likely means something.

JBF, did you think anything was significant about the comment Arie made during the scene where the guys were debating over whether or not Ryan was coming back or going home? He said something like "I trust Emily to make the right choice/ decision." Everything sort of stopped right when he said it and I got the impression that was some sort of sign of how we would see him deal with the ending, whatever it may be.

TPTB have probably dubbed Jef ..."THE COOL CAT"...and said cat is snaking on the periphery of all the action, ready to pounce...theres' your connection.

Probably everything is significant, but we can't catch them all! I am mighty curious what all Ryan said in front of these guys, wanting to be the next Bachelor instead of seeing a future with her. I do think Arie is edging Jef on a bit in some of these scenes. He is like the "ringleader" of the let's-rat-on-Ryan brigade.

It might be good for Love_me or somebody to do the "transcript thang" with those conversations. I did catch that the key quotes were out of sequence based on body positions on couches, etc.

There are so many little details that you only notice with repeated viewings. A few I missed in my earlier post...

Oh... first off... regarding the cats. Emily mentions on people.com that Ricki likes them on youtube. Also we have both she and Doug missing their kids. Doug also wants to see BRAVE with his son, so... of course... we have two kitty shots before and after the movie.

When Chris hopes Emily hasn’t forgotten their early connection early in the episode, the edit cuts to Jef. This hints, for me at least, that Jef was a frontrunner from day #1 and Chris’ comments may be vocalizing his feelings at this stage.

When Ryan says Emily favors “bad boys”, both he and Doug are shown seated. Uh? Doug?

We know Sean at least makes it to the post-hometowns rose ceremony. Why? His PI about the difference between wearing a kilt and a skirt is spoken at the Bachelor mansion in Los Angeles. This raises another key question. Are we all certain the post-hometowns ceremony is HELD at the Bachelor mansion? If not, maybe Sean is doing POST-PRODUCTION interviews for the show AFTER he is dumped. If Joe can potentially record a voice-over for the promo AFTER he gets dumped on his date, it would not shock me if other guys who were OK "getting heartbroken" for the cameras would be paid to do additional "stuff" for the editors.

Why are both Sean and Arie doing interviews? This one by Arie makes me a trifle suspicious of some tomfoolery going on...

…literally everyone comes home from a date and says, 'It was the most amazing time,' and talks about how close they are. One of the guys didn't want to talk about it at all because feelings are involved. As far as how I stacked up against the others, I tried to let myself not entertain that idea because it would slow us down. I was so concentrated on working on [our] relationship.

Maybe this means nothing, since it is so vague, but it reminds me of an interview I rewatched on an old VHS with Russ, Trista's F3, done early 2003. He also said one guy was not discussing his feelings on the dates. F2 Charlie just dubbed Ryan a “wallflower” when he came back from the Sea World date and didn't discuss details, but Russ made it known in an interview that he saw "somebody" fall fast for Trista before they hit hometowns.

Some of this probably means nothing, but I'm tossing it here...

The last words heard before that rainbow scene was Chris’ line “I missed you. You had me worried.” Now, both Sean and Arie use that "I missed you" line in both this and a previous episode, but the "rainbow connection" (i.e. Muppets) with Chris is curious... maybe the "you had me worried" is important?

The key comment Emily says to Ryan I skipped above: “I don’t want to be someone’s mold.” Slightly off topic, but semi-relating to that line: There has been some commentary on this forum about any religious differences she and Jef (or anybody else) may have, but she is making it clear that there should be differences in every relationship. She mentions in her blog enjoying faith discussions with Ryan, but you get an in-between-the-lines sense they don’t share some viewpoints here and this may be more of a problem with Ryan than her. Sean stated back in episode #3 that he and Emily share a founded-on-faith family connection, but religion just may be less important (and an obstacle) to her than some of the guys.

A few comments on the kissing scenes. They are definitely filming Emily with Arie, Sean and Ryan very close-up with stronger lighting, while Jef is always at a distance. This could be because Jef needs more space on account of shyness... or production is trying to hide the connection more. I would have to re-watch past seasons more closely to recognize any patterns here. With Trista's season, Charlie got a lot of close-ups, while Ryan was always a distance. JP and Ashley kiss each other up front in Phuket under the umbrella, but their scenes later in the season tend to be farther away. Likewise, Ashley and William (an early frontrunner) was also shot far away and his kiss in episode #5 as previewed but not shown. Not Bentley: their kiss is VERY up close in episode #2. Ali and Roberto often had "stuff" blocking the view, but her kiss with Chris Lambton in Cape Cod was pretty close-up. Ditto Ali and Frank... and Jillian / Kiptyn on her season. Again, we can't jump to any conclusions here... but I do think viewers are manipulated a bit here.

On another note: Arie’s line of being “convinced” he will be the guy at the end… uh oh.

Interesting thing about Doug’s edit. I really don’t think he is quite as shy as the editors make him to be. However, Jef is clearly intimidated by him in much of the body language I’m observing. When Arie, Sean and Chris discuss him, Jef is looking down more concerned about the observations they are taking too lightly.

About the kisses - in the scene in the hall when Arie is comforting Emily after Alessandro leaves and she tilts her head way back, when I watched it over and slowed it down, I noticed it had been edited to make it look as though there were more kisses than in reality. They wanted that scene to be more pronounced.

Not only that, but they were being edited in certain scenes for a reason.

Those seen early on with Emily solo were MOSTLY white, with some markings.

That tabby seen during the group date twice looked suspiciously like the exact same shot re-looped! Is there some symbolism associated with striped cats? Maybe they just wanted an "average" cat with multi shades to represent the guys as a whole.

The fact that Ryan mentioned Emily favored "bad boys" and she dumped him was interesting in itself. The cat crying in the alley as he got dumped looked black, but it was hard to determine by the distance. Maybe the point was just to show a lonely cat wandering with nobody around and not happy about it. Another crying cat was seen when Blakeley got dumped by Ben last season.

The cat seen before Arie arrived was half black and half white. That one had a dubbed short meow, but looked like he knew where he was going... darting through the street rather than looking lost like Ryan's.

The Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland is striped.

The Cheshire Cat is unique among Wonderland creatures. Threatened by no one, it maintains a cool, grinning outsider status. The Cheshire Cat has insight into the workings of Wonderland as a whole. Its calm explanation to Alice that to be in Wonderland is to be “mad” reveals a number of points that do not occur to Alice on her own. First, the Cheshire Cat points out that Wonderland as a place has a stronger cumulative effect than any of its citizens.
