Supposedly Sean is the one shown with the dolphin in the promo? Or is it Jef? Apparently both swim on their fantasy dates. In any case, this isn’t the first season with a dolphin swim. Trista and Ryan had it as well.

I definitely thought it was Sean at first, until I realized Emily's bikini in the dolphin pic is different from the one she's wearing on the beach with Sean, and seems to match the one she's wearing when she's kissing Arie on the boat. Sure - I think I'm done though. I proved with SCs that Aries shorts were way too loose to be dolphin guy but Seans fit nicely. Plus the guy is too blonde to be Arie (he's the darkest of the 3) and he doesn't have the muscle definition I see in Dolphin man.

Keeping it brief… too tired tonight to get all detailed, but you all will have plenty to add.

A few editing odds and ends… Episode #5

With the primary focus on the promos extending to finale time (it appears), there was a little less startling stuff than past episodes.

At least now we know why both Sean and Jef’s solo dates were this week. Emily tells us she takes things “slow”. She contrasts with previous Bachelorettes.

Curiously, this episode resembled Ashley’s episode #3 in its structure…

1.) Comedy roast with a live audience.
2.) William collapses.
3.) Ashley breaks down. One Ryan kisses her though and gets the group rose.
4.) Bentley leaves.
5.) JP says he wants to make sure she’s OK and restores her on his date.
6.) Ashley cancels cocktail

1.) Shakespeare with a live audience.
2.) Arie struggles and Kalon is twice dubbed “intense”
3.) Emily breaks down after Doug reports Kalon’s “baggage” comment.
4.) Kalon leaves.
5.) Jef says he wants to make sure she’s OK and restores her on his date.
6.) Emily uses cocktail to grill the guys. One Ryan kisses her.

Different setup than Jillian/Ed and Ali/Roberto: they had “rush” skyline dates. Those same episodes (both #3 in this case) also involved a group date with a movie/video shoot. The “rush” that Ashley/JP and Emily/Jef had is more psychological than physical “testing”, getting the lead to discuss some serious “issues” with her frontrunner.

Little homage to Trista’s season:

Jef’s dinner is high up in an “egg” (echoing Travis’ egg … LOL!) and resembling the needle restaurant where Ryan and Trista had their Fantasy Date dinner (Seattle… the hometown of Doug).

Best quotes, not that they meant much to the story…

Doug: I want to be the best damn woman I can be
(Humorously John Wolf enjoyed being kissed on the cheek by him. Playing the more manly role, Doug rolls ups his sleeves before confronting Kalon as if we will get The Fight Club.)

Ryan: In my experience, when a girl tells you you’re trouble and she smiles when she says it, I think it sometimes means she wants to get into trouble.
(Like Trista’s Russ and Chris Lambton, he does the bracelet “thing”.)

Two by twos…

Big Ben clock seen several times, including Jef’s kissing scene. Another clock is seen at the top of the stairs when Emily confronts Arie pre-rose ceremony.
Two shots of London Bridge at night during Sean and Jef’s dates.
Photographs taken in front of Buckingham Palace with little Ricki and Sean. We get the rainbow and light beam on Sean’s kissing photo.
There were other “twos”, but I am tired tonight to investigate them all.

Sean is a “prisoner of love” on his date. Like Arie, Sean gets the wod “hot”. That is not an omen though since Ali’s Roberto was often dubbed “hot” to his face and he made final one.

During the Shakespeare date, the camera panned on the same key people more than once. Anybody Emily knows?

Some of Emily’s PIs show her tanned and with no cold. She talks about the Shakespeare date as if it is just starting, though. She speaks well of Travis in these scenes, but says Arie is stressed out. My feeling here is that she is discussing a future event with Arie, not Romeo & Juliet.

Odd body language scene: Emily brushes Doug away when he tries comforting her. He is definitely no longer in the running despite being the one who reported Kalon to her.

Lots of repeating music, much canned from past seasons with little creativity. The melody we hear at the start of Ashley’s date with JP, while mentioning Bentley, in her episode #3 is heard when Emily wanders about fussing over Kalon. Obviously the editors were trying hard to match up Kalon with Bentley here… with mixed results. As usual, JP’s Fantasy Date music gets played again, this time for Jef’s date. In Ben’s season, Lindzi got that score I think… so we can’t exactly use that as a “final one” indication.

What I wonder though is if Jef says it all in PIs and not often enough to HER...

I have the feeling we are getting a repeat of Reid's situation at the final rose ceremony. Arie is chirping that he pictures Emily as his wife in the promo. Maybe she doesn't trust him earlier about something-something and he proves himself later by doin' the Jeremy/Reid/Ryan Park "thang".

Funny how we get BOTH Ed and Reid on Bachelor Pad right after Emily's finale...

Sean's media interview that Reality Steve brought up clearly shows he is not suffering post show.

I have been thinking all day about the fairy tale aspect for Emily and her men.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary has this definition of fairy tale:

a : a story (as for children) involving fantastic forces and beings (as fairies, wizards, and goblins) —called also fairy story
b : a story in which improbable events lead to a happy ending

: a made-up story usually designed to mislead

Isn't this just right up MF alley for a theme for this year? Think how fairy tales start...."once upon a time" and many fairy tales have some aspect of time to them. Think about Snow White sleeping and not waking up until her prince kisses her. Time slipped away until the right guy came along. Cinderella had the right timing to be there when the prince showed up with the glass slipper but she had to return before the clock struck 12 or her carriage, beautiful dress,and everything went away. Timing was everything for her.

Emily is the princess in MF's fairy tale. She is waiting for the right prince to come along and wake her up from her "sleep" and take her away to her happily ever after. But for Emily there is a time crunch and all her decisions must be made before the end of the show. Clocks are shown to symbolize how time is going quickly and Emily is wasting precious time not knowing who to choose. What I think happens is while Emily is being indecisive, along comes a "prince" who sweeps her away and makes the decision for her...just like in a fairly tale.

Of course just my opinion and now back to the laundry....
