I knew the first time my fiance and I meet it was meant to be. I know that some relationships don't start of as love at first sight, but in my experience it was.
:pinkaw: So it is possible!
Oh wow! Same here with my fiance! Same with my parents too. They got engaged within two months after they met the first time. and been married for 30+ years. It is possible.
On other note, I thought I should show some clips of interaction between Arie and Emily, Sean and Emily and Jef and Emily to my fiance, who had never watched bachelorette before and asked for his perspective. You know sometimes, avid viewers like us tend to overanalyze and miss the obvious things. I find his answers quite interesting.
1. He sees that Arie seemed to force a chemistry between them. Like he want to believe there is more there or maybe he likes the idea of being in love with Emily than actually being in love with her. Example during GD epi 4, he had to repeat over and over again about his date with emily rather than just getting to know emily right there and then. Fiance was more convinced after the scene in RC episode 4 because he needed her reassurance. My fiance said guys are generate to think things like a game (even if it means play for the best intention like getting the girl of ur dream), so he sees the rubbing on her knee (or any physical touches) during "serious" conversation as a bonus point to make the girl thing more positively of him. Arie did that alot especially here.

ETA: Oh Arie's response when Emily said those beautiful things to him seems like a guy whose confidence has been boosted, as opposed to being more into the girl. Unlike Jef, when Emily gave him the GDR, he was falling for her.
2. With Sean, he didnt have a strong opinion about it, just that it was like a physical attraction between them, lack of emotional substance (for now maybe). But due to their similar ideas in life, they could either become very good friends or an ideal partner.
3. Alright, with jef. Basically, I cringe at times when Jef get all nervous and repeating the word "like". My fiance was shocked to see me reacted that way and when I told him that it was awkward to watch, he was even more puzzled because he said that the way jef and emily acted with each other was the most natural reaction between two people who admire/like/have crush on and he said it reminded him of our early romance. He could see that Emily and Jef were in the process of getting to know each other and realized there's undeniably an attraction and chemistry there, and slowly figuring out if it something they want to pursue for the rest of their life. Mind you, this was before I showed the "no kiss" scene. After I did show him that, I love that my fiance was so proud like a lil boy how spot on he was with his perception. Well done to him.
So yeah, just thought I'd share his opinion. You know what they say about children sometime have much comprehensible perceptions at things because of their simple and unembellished minds. I hope it goes the same way with my fiance's perception as he is very new to bachelorette.
I believe your boyfriend's perceptions are pretty accurate and are pretty much exactly the perceptions I had of each of them as a spoiler-free person for the first four episodes.

Thank you! I love to hear unspoiled men comment. They are amazingly astute.

I added it to that post, which is now three pages back. Ha ha!

Obviously we need to see a lot more Sean to determine that relationship, but I am getting some of the same "vibe" here with Arie.
There is a key scene in episode #1, when her voice-over covers a shot of her patting Arie in a group setting. "The guys are putting so much pressure on themselves..."
On the Body Language thread, there are videos with Brad speaking and behaving a little like Arie. He is trying so hard with Emily and asking her for reassurance a lot more than you would expect from The Bachelor supposedly "calling the shots".
Also, in the Phuket date with Ashley (last year's episode #4), Ryan Park behaves in a startlingly similar way as Arie, also with his hand on her leg. I, of course, am Mister Sunshine's biggest fan and wouldn't say either Arie or Ryan P. are competing in a "game" here, but they must sense that something is a little "off" in their relationship and are trying to over-compensate.
Basically, I cringe at times when Jef get all nervous and repeating the word "like".
Yeah I did too... but I also noticed that JP did some of that too... just fewer "likes". Yet Jef wasn't "liking" as much in the later "no kiss" segment.

I don't think Arie was trying to force anything. He just needed a little reassurance as to where she stood and she provided it. Arie is a demonstrative guy. That doesn't make him a player, or in it to win it. I think people need to face the facts, She was hot for Arie. She initiated kisses too. It wasn't just on his end. She couldn't keep her hands off of him on their first date. If she fell in love with Jeff later on then so be it but she had feelings for Arie too.

One moment that was telling to me, was when Arie gave her the reassuring kiss on top of the head... then SHE raised her face and sought out his lips for kisses on the mouth...

I thought that was very telling moment too, and spoke volumes about the connection they formed on their first date.RichLP wrote:cindebugg wrote:I don't think Arie was trying to force anything. Spoiled or not, this can really be seen. She was a LOT into Arie.

Just to clarify, this is purely an opinion of a man who had never watched the bachelorette before. I just thought it would be interesting to know his view on the bigger picture, unlike our view on every little details. Also, he gives the perspective of men to men. Not once he gave his opinion on what Emily feels. That is on our element. Then again, this is only our perspectives, only Emily and those guys can understand what they truly feels.
ETA: Btw, I am Arie fan too. I absolutely enjoy watching his scene with Emily. I melt everytime, he's soo romantic!!!!

I'm not sure if this goes here.
Did anyone see the new promo last night where they edited out Emily's f***? Also, after she asks Kahlon ( or whoever) if they have anything to say for themselves, you just hear evil laughter.
