The only big changes I can see in Ep 4 was that Arie moved even further up the ladder. Jef was too chicken to kiss her, like Doug, so they both moved way down. As someone who has been a Bach/ette show fan from day 1...they will never convince me now that Jef was F1 from the beginning.
I respect your opinion but in my book someone does not have to kiss to love somebody and have strong feelings. You can have butterflies in your stomach just thinking about the guys and the waiting period when we know that the other one is attracted the same way and it is only a matter of time, is the best feeling in the world.
Emily said it very very clearly in a PI in last episode................. (someone please transcript her exact words)
I kissed some guys that I had only lust for but some that my heart was beating 100 miles an hour. The best time was the waiting time, when I could not stop thinking about him. Physical is okay but feelings is another IMO
Did I miss this???? That is an incredibly telling PI!!
The only thing remotely close to this that I know of what her PI about waiting for Jef to kiss her. Something to the degree of after you've kissed someone the first time you loose some of thrill & excitement so I guess I can wait a little while longer....

Yep, totally ridiculous, alway has been. Jef is not F1 by default. She simply fell in love with him. This show has always tried to lead viewers to believe the lead picks someone other that the real F1. Chantal, Chris L., back to Charlie in Trista's season. Last two seasons were not the usual with the F1 being so obvious and the leads (Ben) & (Ashley) terrible acting with other contestents with peck kisses. Emily is acting more like Jillian, Trista and Ali, she's enjoying some lusty kisses along the way to falling in love with Jef.shannonmac wrote:Jeepers wrote:Default has been removed from my dictionary

JBF- quick question. Do you think the purpose of this episode is to establish Sean's place among the final 3....while Jef's episode to "shine" will be episode 7. All of the hometown dates will appear to go well....leaving Emily torn among her final 3?
I was initially a bit confused as to WHY they didn't highlight Jef and Emily this week....since they FINALLY have their first kiss.
Good question. We will just have to see...
It appears that somebody is acting as Jef's "smokescreen" each episode.
In the last one, Doug made a fuss about not kissing Emily. So... Jef was not the only one who didn't. Ryan disapproved of Emily kissing Arie the previous week. Doug, in turn, told Ryan that kissing is a young guy's "thang" and not the most important part of a relationship.
Same episode: Chris took offense to Doug accusing him for being too young. Chris is the same age (roughly) as Nate, who was dumped on his 2 on 1 date NOT because he was too young, but because Emily felt he hadn't enough life experience. (Charlie said in his exit interview tha Nate was more "wet behind the ears" than Chris.) I'm guessing all of these scenarios relate to the 27-year old Jef, who might have more experience than casual viewers may think despite his youthful appearance.
I think Sean was already established by his line "I can step into any role and be the greatest father in the world." Guess that makes him Emily's "back-up" in case Jef doesn't succeed. In the promo, he "restores her faith". He told her friends that his family is founded on faith, but there may be multiple meanings here... not all necessarily religious.
Her friends, in turn, thought he was hot and forced him to take his shirt off.
Unfortunately, Brent left in episode #1 despite having six kids, as did the fitness trainer who ripped off his shirt (like Sean). Therefore, being a great dad and looking "hot" may not be as important to Emily as casual viewers would think.
Whether this means anything or not... in episode #5 coming up, both Sean and Ryan are quite public in their declarations of L-U-V. One performs in a play, but the other is pretty vocal in front of a crowd. I seriously doubt Jef will be as public.
As usual very interesting JBF. Love your attention to detail.
I luv your concept of "smokescreen". So I wonder if the public declarations of love aren't the smokescreen but the declaration of Love. Jef although reticent to move to a physical connection has been fairly vocal- re crush etc. I wonder if again he is going to say something about how he feels for Emily- maybe not love but something significant. So the declarations of love are not a big deal because both Sean and Arie are doing something similar. I know Sean's was something along the lines of It can't be called love yet but ....

Don't have the exact quote, but Emily said something to the effect that anticipation was good and she could wait a bit longer for a kiss with Jef.
Okay, that one I heard. She said that in the talk with CH. It sounded like the above was something different???

Absolutely, that one I remember but the one above sounded like a different one. Maybe they are referring to the same talk with CH but have a different memory of the words???

Jillian, Trista and Ali were kissing their f1 too not everybody but their F1. Who has Emily kissed up until this point? Sean and Arie? With Arie being way ahead of the curve. I would really like to know the last time that the lead didn't kiss their F1 before episode 5.

She said on her PI after their GD on the beach that after you've kissed someone you loose some of the thrill & excitement so I guess I can wait a little while longer but also when talking to CH see was saying that she could wait but indicate he'd better more soon or he may not be interested.

Trista had many less episodes in her season, but she and Ryan didn't have a real passionate kiss until HTD, if I remember correctly.
I don't think Emily has ever had to react to a guy who didn't want to kiss her before (or who wussed out, to quote Jef), so she didn't quite know how to make the first move. She can tell Arie and Sean are interested and so she follows their lead and kisses them and even initiates it, but she won't make the first move, IMHO.

Yeah, but when was the last time the F1 didn't have a date until episode 5? And F2 for that matter.

If I remember correctly Trista was kissing her F2 & F3 alot but not her F1 Ryan until the HTD.
