Let's not forget we also have all of the "baggage" drama to look forward to on Monday, as well. The average viewer will be completely distracted from Jef's date.

JBF- quick question. Do you think the purpose of this episode is to establish Sean's place among the final 3....while Jef's episode to "shine" will be episode 7. All of the hometown dates will appear to go well....leaving Emily torn among her final 3?

I was initially a bit confused as to WHY they didn't highlight Jef and Emily this week....since they FINALLY have their first kiss.

As Jef's date seems to happen after the 'baggage' drama then I think this turns the focus on him. The epi. description says she turns to Jef for comfort. This is when he may show her that a) he'll have her back and b) he'd make a good father. I think having the 'baggage' comment happen will let Jef express more about himself to Emily in relation to children and how he views them, how he views a marriage/partnership. The viewer will be left thinking "I'm so glad she had him there for her". If, it plays out the way I'm thinking it will. Maybe, maybe not.

I wonder as well if TBPT and MF didn't look at this season and wonder if people would not like Emily with Jef. Appears young, skateboarder, mormon etc. Very different from Brad. (I am a Jef fan- just to be clear)
They need good ratings. There is no question the majority of viewers would be very happy with Arie as a match for Emily, but maybe not Jef.
Play it out with editing so there is not much Jef- lots of Arie, Sean would be good from a viewer perspective, etc. Watch the reaction of the viewing audience. You can either keep with the Arie story- for ratings and have a suprise with Jef at the end or if the viewing audience is buying Jef- you could potentially make some editing changes and pull more Jef in during the later episodes.
I am not an expert on timelines, amount of work required to make changes so I could be all wet with this.

Making edit changes can not occur over night .. Takes a while .. not saying it can't be done....the story line for the first 3 episodes is somewhat neutral and up for big changes starting epi 4 .. And this season is pretty true to form .. Especially seeing as very few of the first 4 1n1 dates were really not successful

The only big changes I can see in Ep 4 was that Arie moved even further up the ladder. Jef was too chicken to kiss her, like Doug, so they both moved way down. As someone who has been a Bach/ette show fan from day 1...they will never convince me now that Jef was F1 from the beginning.

I don't think he was either, but that doesn't mean that he did not become the F1 overtime, and not a default F1, a real F1. I really did not expect Emily to pick her F1 at the beginning anyways and it seems like she didn't!

I am enjoying the story! Even if it doesn't work out I enjoyed watching it for a few months!
