RS: Couple updates from the ever-so-changing “Bachelor Pad” list that I released on Tuesday. Some new information has come in that I can tell you about. Ryan Bowers is definitely NOT doing the show, so you can cross him off. However, you can take Michael Stagliano off the “rumored” list, because he’s definitely doing it.

Thanks... I was late getting that info... away a lot this week. Yeah, I got the news regarding the Great Rosenthal.

Re-watched that promo, NeonRose. That line "everything disappears" when Arie kisses Emily is another funny one. "Everything" includes a "peeping tom" Ryan in the last episode. Apparently, we are supposed to believe NOBODY is noticing Jef with her and kissing Emily makes men blind. Um... yeah. Whatever. (I do have the sneaky suspicion that, like Ashley's guys who were noticing the JP connection by Phuket and Ali's who were suspecting Roberto was the frontrunner by Turkey, Emily's stud corral may have "sniffed" the air and realized that Jef was destined to be here for the quite a while as well.)

Probably going a bit off topic, but still relating to Arie...

That extra video on the Warner site is somewhat revealing. Maybe Dolly Parton was just being realistic by wishing Arie and Emily the best of luck with or without each other. "Technically" she should have not used "without" in her lines like that. I know... a bunch of you will say I am making a mountain out of a mole hill here and there is nothing unusual about that conversation, but it just FEELS like Dolly got some "sign" that Arie and Emily are playing parts for the camera.

That kiss Ryan "supposedly" saw (or the editors and Ryan want us to think he saw) did look pretty hot. Yet, something still didn't feel right about it. I dunno... something fishy in the camera angles and editing reminds me a little too much of the overly staged kissing scene between Ashley and Bentley in episode #2 of her season... making me think they were both putting on a show. Also Ryan continued to make a fuss about Arie's kiss since he is more "physical" than Arie the "dainty" one. We also have that stupid muscles video with Arie looking "wimpy" compared to Sean and Doug, both of whom value weight lifting as a career and spent as many years building up their abs as most doctors and lawyers spend at graduate school. This whole storyline reads "If Ryan and others find it surprising that Emily is attracted to a less masculine Arie, just imagine the shock of her being attracted to Jef. Didn't she date Brad?"

Going by body language and interraction on screen, not those faked PIs, Arie reminds me of Ryan Park. Had there been no JP or William (whom I believe was JP's real competition prior to the comedy roast, not Bentley), then Ryan may very well have become Ashley's final one. She certainly was physically attracted to him provided he didn't talk water heaters. Yet, she loved Ryan more because he was so easy to talk to and didn't feel she was in any danger with him... at least until Taiwan, when JP fussed too much about Ben's overnight, the kissing of different guys and, well, "it made me crazy". That is why both he and Lucas were let go and Ames and the bro-buddies kept, making JP chirp the opposite to his brother on hometown (i.e. he was certain the other three did not have "IT" with Ashley).

Another who reminds me of Arie is Jason Mesnick when he was on Deanna's season. Some may also compare him to Chris Lambton with Ali, although that relationship may have had more "heat" and she did flipflop a bit even after Iceland since she wasn't getting immediate signs that Roberto would "love me back". (This is why so many of us were on the Chris bandwagon that season. She tended to talk "husband" talk a lot more with Chris.)

There are many puzzle pieces this season that appear to fit a certain way. Yet I just haven't gotten them put together yet...

Tony, Doug and booted-in-the-beginning Brent are already fathers. The one with six kids was the first to go.

Jef looks, to the average viewer, as the least "fatherly" despite mentioning that he dated somebody with kids, like Arie did.

We also have this peculiar INDIRECT (and more hidden) connection here regarding Bentley in Ashley's season. Like Tony, he too left in episode #3 because he missed Cozy, only that wasn't exactly the truth. (Also Ashley cried more than Bentley, while Emily barely shed a tear over blubbering Tony.)

Intriguingly, Bentley supposedly came on to the show thinking Emily, not Ashley, was The Bachelorette... or so The Story told us. (Oooof! Do we ever know what is real and what isn't on this franchise? Funny how such a "real" reality TV show has so many repeating "incidents".) Before his departure, Bentley crooned for the cameras that Ashley was like an ugly duckling compared to the Mighty Maynard (who, by the way, received Victoria Secret push-up bra ads during HER premiere show).

... and if all that wasn't enough, THIS season the guys are comparing abs sizes so that they won't be "ugly ducklings" as well.

Back to Tony...

There is a most fascinating segment on the first episode promo:

Emily: I didn't know it was gonna hurt this bad. (Charlie the "head injury" guy is seen rubbing his face)
(Emily is seen after dumping Joe on his date)
If I was a single 26 year old girl it would be different (camera points to Travis the Egg Man appearing upset; fades to black)
(Tony is seen against a wall crying during a silent lull)
but I'm not (camera points to Doug crying)
and I will protect my family til the day I die.

My question: Why show Tony and Doug crying back to back? Because Tony was crying about his kid and Doug is crying about ______? Doug has "another side" that Emily does not know about... apparently. Yet he WAS the one supporting Tony before he left and chewing out Kalon previously about his own "take" on fatherhood. Oh Doug's story will get interesting soon... and will NOT be anything like Tony's story despite their father connection.

Of course, Travis gets included in that montage since he brought the stupid egg, a "symbol" of Emily & Ricki (plus Emily's need for more kiddies... um... maybe I shouldn't go there). Smashing the egg means Travis is no longer guarding and protecting them... and maybe Emily being so happy the egg gets trashed means that having multiple kids is no longer Numero Uno in her mind.

OK... let's go off the deep end, shall we? Try not to drown. I am tossing the puzzle pieces out there for others to try fitting together.

We have been hammered over the head with this Ricki Needs A Daddy Story, but Emily was hurting after dumping Joe on his date. No talk about kids on Joe's date, just what he saw them doing together in the future. His attitude of "doing whatever you want dear" hardly gave her "butterflies". After Joe got dumped and Emily discussed it with the other guys at the pre-rose ceremony cocktail, Ryan forced her to read a long love letter in front of Tony standing there. Tony wanted to discuss his kid and was forced to wait.

I think what Tony represents is just a smokescreen to hide Jef. The fact that Tony left for his own child and Travis smashed the egg on the same episode is no coincidence. One incident relates to the other in some way... as if the Ricki "situation" has become less important to Emily than finding "true love" as Dolly Parton told her on Arie's date.

Speaking of Dolly... and Arie...

"Dainty" Arie surprising "manly" Ryan by kissing Emily in the mansion is some sort of foreshadowing that the muscular guys will lose out eventually. In episode #1, we saw Tony himself in his introduction benching to increase his abs size. Among the guys booted that first rose ceremony were Brent with six kids and the physical trainer who ripped off his shirt to show what Emily was missing. Foreshadowing of future Dads With Abs leaving? Does anybody besides me find that "deleted" scene of Sean and Doug laughing at Arie's small arms after measuring each with a measuring tape rather ironic here? Arie makes final three, along with an even skinnier Jef...

Of course ONE guy with abs who claims he will make the greatest father in the world also makes final three... and was shirtless so one of Emily's buds could ride him.

Thanks, but... Hey... it is a GROUP effort here!

I can't help but think she wanted Jef from the get-go and they scrambled to come up with some kind of storyline here...

if you look at the glasses, arie,s and emily's, they are identical, almost full both.

My first feeling and I still stand by this is that producers asked arie to meet emily in the corridor after she ejected out allesandro. Completely staged. "you are not having a good night?" obviously EVERYONE in the mansion saw her with a long face leading allesandro out. I even SC jef face when he saw her. So of course arie knew and he was waiting for her. that the producers asked him or he took the initiative? It looks like more staged by the producers if I keep the 2 glasses... a guy who would care, would not think of drinks firsthand IMO. How convenient that Ryan was around... Obviously the guy is filling the Bentley's villain role. It looked so fake that ooohhhh coincidence arie and ryan were at the same time, same place (may I remind you it was in a corridor not inside any room). So what? Ryan was peeping emily? gross! Now that we know that ryan said that he would be a perfect (next) bachelor, all his act is just what it is: fake and provoked by the producers. And if the producers pushed ryan for this little show, how close are we to admit that arie was also an accomplice?

My second thought was this. The very same night she kissed SEAN open lips (no tongue but still lips playing which is in my book a hot kiss). If she was so into arie, then I would have avoided kissing another guy.... or she played her role just like the producers asked/briefed her to do: kissing is not such a big deal if you do not kiss them all. You need to keep the fans on their toes and kisses are part of the job.

My last thought was of course her reaction with jef. She is completely different when she is with him. her facial, shoulders, eyes are more on a cruising mode. Her constant "where are you? I looked for you." and the general message directly sent to him: do not be afraid to talk to me. How clearer is this?

So yes. I agree that we see many dust, just like every season and it is interesting to figure it out what storyline the producers wish us to see/believe.

I associate this as the cat and the mouse. who will will the race?

JBF you are one of the major reason I keep staying in this forum this season. Thank you.

ETA: i may jumped on conclusions that arie did not care. maybe he did and just wanted to be sweet and ryan knowing arie was his competition followed arie. ... just another scenario that i do not dismiss :)

oihhhhhhhhhh thank you gina for noticing it. I thought i was the only one to find it funny. And yes. I totally join you (and obviously his friend from utah I think) that the show was totally out of his element and he was constantly shocked and felt a complete stranger there.

ps: I keep thinking that his lack of clothes like shorts or wearing the same plaid shirt and the same RC suit... methinks that he thought he would go home after 1 or 2 weeks max. I wonder, why he was not allowed to shop tho or maybe he does not care about it (which is a good thing in my book).
