JBF wrote:A more important line with Ryan is this one, since its sums up an important theme of the season. At the end of the rose ceremony he drums up that kiss he saw with this follow-up...

"Arie and I are very different. He is more of a dainty man and I am more of a physical guy. I think this is definitely a cat and mouse game, but I know how to compete. So Arie’s in trouble."

There were a lot of little blink-and-you-miss tidbits that were important.

Friends to Jef: “You need to show you’re into her” Obviously, fate is in his hands. Curiously, the line faith is mentioned over shots of him. Also, when Emily says she has a couple of crushes, the word “crushes” is spoken over Jef only… implying he may be the only actual one she is feeling a crush for.

Kalon sported his glasses to look "tall, skinny and funny", but to Emily he wound up "tall, skinny and condescending". Kalon's personality is typical Alpha Male, but he wants to appear the opposite just to woo her... the guys are suspecting that great abs don't always work with Brad's ex.

Ryan's commentary about Arie is very important because he is another Alpha Male. He must not know about the race car business at this stage, although he surprised us last week knowing all about Charlie's head injury and impressing the other guys (who see Charlie as a hulky dude) with this season's theme... *drink*... that you can't go by physical appearances. (How many interviews with Emily have brought that up?)

Poor Sean. The friend’s line that “Sean is like a genetic gift to the world” is one based on physical impression… and we know Emily is not destined to choose the “perfect like Brad” guy. Sean may not be “perfect”, but the general viewer will see him that way.

Both Arie and Sean got scenes back-to-back providing two goals of Emily... finding one who will show her affection (Arie) and be there to support her daughter (Sean). Both also got their kissing scenes close together. Intriguingly, this is a good parallel to a 2009 edition of the Bachelorette. Reid and Kiptyn, who represented "stuff" Jillian was looking for in 2009 (and whether she found it in Ed is a subject everybody argues) also got back to back kissing scenes before the third ceremony. Kiptyn was the "hot" one and Reid the caring one... she was banking on Ed being both.

I found it very interesting that Emily's friends would tell that to Jef. I wonder if Emily mentioned to them how she feels about Jef but that she feels Jef still keeps a comfortable distance. It's obvious he likes her, but at this point he hasn't put all his eggs in her basket.

uhm...hope that last line isn't misinterpreted. giggling

I don't know if this has any significance or any meaning. I was rewatching the very first episode. Just after the end of Emily's introduction, CH said on the VO of what to expect on tonight's episode

"Meet 25 most eligible bachelor...helicopter or something.. and then the party get started.."
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

"..and the romance begins.." (This scene came up.)

I am not sure if someone has brought it up already.

I would assume so, as ultimately, it is about love story between Emily and her F1.

I posted this in Ryan's thread, but I thought I would post it here as well, hope it's okay  :

*cue the dramatic music* to get our emotions running giggling Rolling Eyes

Ryan at the Bermuda after party talking to Em: ''We had to sit there and watch you and Arie kissing, I had a bit of a hard time with that'' (maybe he is talking about Em kissing Arie at the group date after party in Bermuda?):

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Em VO: ''I just feel like he's judging me'' (is she speaking about Ryan or could this have been about someone else? Just speculation.)

Ryan: He is probably not answering Em's statement above Rolling Eyes, he's saying ''Yep'' at the RC cocktail party + making a face (this could be about anything, right?):

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Arie VO: ''there are so many thing about Ryan that are so narcissistic'' + a (random?) face shot of Arie at the RC cocktail (I guess the days of Arie jumping and hugging Ryan on the boat racing date are long gone giggling Or Arie could have said this at a later time.):

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Ryan: ''I'm very good at everything I do'' (something he says in a conversation with Doug I think, at the RC cocktail party) :

Ryan PI: ''I feel like I'm called to something bigger'' (What is the producer question he is answering here? Is he really talking about being ''called to become the bachelor'' i.e. quoting Mr. Pavelka giggling Is he maybe speaking in terms of his faith? Was the producers asking him a specific question in the hopes of getting him to say a certain frase they could use in their storyline? Just speculating.) :

OH YEAH! Mike Fleiss is certainly l.o.v.i.n.g it ---> plotting

Ryan with Michael: ''Isn't it great whenever you are able to, like, use a position like this'' (Is he really talking about becoming the bachelor? Is he talking about the opportunities/exposure this could/will give all of them? Maybe including using his posistion to do good? Just speculating :hidingchair

Or maybe it was a random sentence in a conversation that fitted their storyline? (--> maybe he and Micheal were using their 'position' by the fire and were roasting some marshmallows?! giggling )

Arie VO: ''I don't think Ryan really cares about Emily's happiness'' (No bromance for Arie and Ryan no no ) + (Random?) face shot of Sean ( ILOVEU editor man/woman): ...oh, and Chris too giggling

VO: Someone, that I can't quite make out who is, saying ''Emily's making a mistake'' (Who is this person talking about? Is it Ryan? Is it from another time?)

These fireplace scenes are very dark, certainly adds to the mood, don't they? Suspect

Ryan talking to Em: '' I think that it's very admirable, you recognize that though you're the center of attention, doesn't automatically make you worthy..'' (feels to me like they cut his sentence short here? Did he get to make his whole point?):

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Ryan: ''God has blessed me (with) in a lot of ways so..'' (I think the next part is edited in, maybe. Sounds like it to me ---> ) ''..I'm really evaluating..'' (next word also edited in, maybe -->) ''..Emily'':

Emily and Ryan conversation:

Emily: ''Like, I want someone that always has my back, cause I know that like, I will have their back''

Ryan ''Loyalty?''

Em: ''Mhm''

Ryan: ''So you hit on it without me even asking. That's good.''

Em: ''Well, good. I'm glad I passed the test''

Ryan PI: ''I like what I see in her, I see that there is great potential'' (Slicing and dicing here, I think-->) ''But to be very honest'' (again some slice and dice going on I think) ''I feel like I'm called to something bigger'' (again, could he be talking about/answering a question about his faith here?)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Ryan with Michael: ''we're all here to spend time with Emily, but'' (you don't actually see him finish this, Ryan's back is against the camera) ''when this whole thing is done, I'm involved with the media back home, I'm gonna say 'let's do bachelor Ryan'.''
(did they cut his sentence short here? Why? Did he mean let's do 'Ryan for bachelor' promotion?
Sidenote: I remember that he referred to 'the bachelorette' as 'the bachelor' on his 1on1 in epi. 1 saying something like ''You don't think you're gonna be on the bachelor making cookies on the first date...'' )

Ryan VO: ''If I was the bachelor'' ---> then it jumps to Ryan PI (I get a ''let's edit in a certain thing he said at another time'' feeling again no idea ) : ''..... I would be ready to open my heart up, you know and it will be neat for everybody to see'':

I wonder if we will see this conversation coming up in episode 3. That will be a telling point IMO particularly since Em is so gung ho about finding a father-figure for Ricky.

nd4reality, did you think this convo happened for Sean and Arie on episode 3?

I can't remember if Em discussed this with Chris.

Sorry - when we are online at different times, I post something and never know if I was quoted or a question directed at me.

I do think the conversation was done for both these gentlemen in episode 3. Now we may hear more of this later with them but yes episode 3 we heard it, Arie on his 1on1 telling em about the girlfriend and her kids and Sean - talking about how he little Ricki would be his child no doubt.
I don't believe we have heard this yet from Jef - someone correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't hear it with Chris I don't think.

Oh KikiLL, that video is hysterically funny...

Last year in Hong Kong, Constantine poo-pooed Ryan Park by saying he can't stand "cheese in a can"... a comment I had issues with since Mister Sunshine gave me endless moments of joy on screen while Dino put me to sleep right up until he accidently mentioned "grape fruity... Ben taught me that" on his Fantasy Date.

However, as far as cheese in a can goes, THIS Ryan is long past his expiration date and has been sitting out of the fridge way too long. Even his hair is funny to look at... the way it sticks up when he talks all serious.

Since Reality Steve is pretty certain he's on Bachelor Pad, instead of The Bachelor (watch Arie land that role over Sean), we can guess Fleiss decided right away no serious viewer would ever accept him for the role he is so eager to play, but he should still be rewarded for the delightful way he is rubbing every female viewer's disgust with his foot-in-the-mouth disease. I wonder if this Ryan versus Arie dynamic parallels Jake Pavelka versus Wes Hayden... one becoming Bach, the other hitting The Pad.

I am not sure if someone has brought it up already.

Did they use "most eligible" over Jef in that one line?

Those voice-overs ARE a big deal, although they do confuse us to no end at times. Nicki received many pro-marriage voice-over "bytes" from either Chris Harrison or Ben last season and... well... she ain't the one getting hitched! I do suspect SOMEBODY was banking on something happening there and it didn't pan out... or there is a story behind the story we still don't know about.

Quite often the voice-overs are more important for the person featured in that clip and watching himself/herself than for viewers. I particularly felt that in Ashley's season and the many key words used over William during the first three episodes, particularly the third rose ceremony (when you sense that Bentley's departure was a LOT less important than other drama that week). Fleiss felt none of this was OUR business, but those key words-to-face matchups were mighty important to Ashley and William... even though he claimed (on Men Tell All) that he didn't watch beyond episode #1.

The overall vibe I get with each voice-over placed with Jef's face is that he is still lacking confidence... or WAS when the episode in question was put together. (Ryan Sutter actually stated in one or two key PIs back in the 2003 edition of The Bachelorette that Trista was building up his.)

Just a sampling of words over him in the promo...
(Emily) I want to meet my husband so bad (Jef shown in group with Chris, Kalon, Aaron, Charlie, and Michael)
(Chris voice-over) Emily definitely did capture my heart. (Jef in London kissing)
(Sean voice-over) (This is something Emily and I) will never forget. (Jef in London)
(Emily speaking first before camera pans on Jef) (how great you are with kids) but
(Emily voice-over) There is nothing more that I want (to make my family complete). (Key shots of Jef twirling a girl and Emily twirling Ricki)

That last line is most interesting. Jef is doing the exact same thing Emily is doing with a child. The "nothing more than I want" suggests that Jef is already providing enough and she wants nothing more. Perhaps Jef fears he isn't ready for the responsibilities?

Later... Emily's "I feel like he is ready to be a husband and a dad." is spoken over the shot in the library. Again, words of encouragement.

In addition to these two Chris Harrison voice-overs you mentioned... "most eligible" and "the romance begins", we also got these important Jef headshots during the following episode #1 lines...

When I want something… (Chris talking to the guys)
I’m a hopeless romantic (Emily speaking to the guys, but appearing to speak to Jef solo)
(you make me feel) like I deserve to be here (Emily again)
(you gave me butterflies) in my stomach

Again... Emily, like Trista, came into this talking about fatherhood and making babies, but... with Travis' symbolic ostrich egg smashed to the ground, Emily is moving beyond this and trying to coax the one she wants into the other arena. As stated in her second people.com blog: "I decided to give him the rose because I wanted him to give this whole experience a chance – I truly believe it can work if the right two people find each other." (No mention of Ricki here... just making him put his money where his mouth is, but in a different line of his: "I believe in the fairy tale".)

Something tells me that his hometown has some sort of drama that prompts him to question stuff... and Emily takes matters in her own hands...

haha, I so agree about Ryan B., he's way cheesier than Mr. Sunshine, who seems genuinely shiny. JBF, RS said today that Ryan is definitely NOT on BP3.
RS: Couple updates from the ever-so-changing “Bachelor Pad” list that I released on Tuesday. Some new information has come in that I can tell you about. Ryan Bowers is definitely NOT doing the show, so you can cross him off. However, you can take Michael Stagliano off the “rumored” list, because he’s definitely doing it.

I think you're right on with this. I remember when RS tweeted that one of the guys left, one of Jef's friends guessed it was him. He would've booked it if he wasn't interested in Emily.

Jef would never have stayed if he wasn't interested in Emily. He was not used to having camera's in his face and was pretty shocked at the behavior of some of the guys.
Thanks worseseason, that's what I thought. Jef seems to be one of the few real guys on this show, same as JP was last season & JP thought he'd be sent home night 1. I can't wait to see more of Jef, and especially, Jef with Emily. it's going to be fun & romantic.

I know jef has a sense of humor (he made fun of his hair during the show) and I want to believe in JEM romance but could not help to make SC of jef when he saw emily and alessandro's exit. I found it hilarious and so natural.

That is what I enjoy in jef. he does not seem fake and all his faces are the kind I expect to a genuine person who is in this kind of show.

"Reality television frequently portrays a modified (...) day-to-day life, at times utilizing sensationalism to attract audience viewers and increase advertising revenue. Participants are often placed in exotic locations or abnormal situations, and are often persuaded to act in specific scripted ways by off-screen "story editors" or "segment television producers" with the portrayal of events and speech manipulated and contrived to create an illusion of reality through direction and post-production editing techniques." ~ Wikipedia

So what Michael Stag was referencing was the Bach Pad and not The Bachelor lead....good!
Surprised the winner is reappearing. I guess he won't be on long....they'll be a target on his back.
