because folks are hearing it second hand and not in the context of what she actually said during the show.

I dont' understand her need to clarify it either - what's the big deal of people thinking Em fell in love this season....??? Isn't that what they want us to think?

that's what makes me the most curious.

do we finally get a rejected proposal??

With the exception of Jason and Brad, all of the leads since Deanna haven't been allowed to spill whether or not they fell in love (I think Deanna was finally allowed to say she was engaged on MTA). They didn't used to do this, in fact on some seasons, they teased the happy ending at the very beginning. For some reason, the producers have it in their head that the ending should be a total secret now (ironic, since RS keeps spoiling them). I think the only reason they allowed Jason and Brad to say they were in love early on was because Jason couldn't keep the secret of his "love" for Melissa (too bad, he really should have!), and with Brad, they wanted to assure viewers that Brad had really changed and wasn't going to pull a "no pick" for a second time.

Ironcat, did Brad say he was in love in Brad 1.0? I've read about his wanting to "shout it from the rooftops". I'm assuming he wanted to shout that he was in love. Was it not to counter the no pick ending?

I didn't watch the whole Brad I season, and didn't follow the media that closely either, but I'm guessing his "shout it from the rooftops" comment may have been something producers cooked up for him to say to misdirect viewers from the real ending. All I know is that it's only been since Deanna's season that they have consistently put a "gag order" on the leads to not reveal anything about the outcome (other than "I'm happy with how things worked out"), and only Jason and Brad (II) were allowed to circumvent it. Prior to that, they didn't seem to really care, and of course, seasons also weren't routinely spoiled back in those days either.

I think you're right on with this. I remember when RS tweeted that one of the guys left, one of Jef's friends guessed it was him. He would've booked it if he wasn't interested in Emily.

In past seasons, they show the (eventual) F1 and the lead having a meaningful conversation i.e they show the whole family / being a husband / father conversation whereas with the others, that conversation hits the cutting floor.

I wonder if we will see this conversation coming up in episode 3. That will be a telling point IMO particularly since Em is so gung ho about finding a father-figure for Ricky.

I think the F4 expressed how ready they were to become fathers. Otherwise, I don't think they would have made it very far. JMO

Jef would never have stayed if he wasn't interested in Emily. He was not used to having camera's in his face and was pretty shocked at the behavior of some of the guys.

I can't wait till JBF posts, but I will comment on what I think will happen in the edit.
Since ep 3 was Arie, I think from here on out we will see the edit either stay or start to decline.
Sean the edit is on the rise
Ryan, Em is giving him the rope he needs
Doug, I agree with too much to bring into Em's family
Chris, too young
Jef, Em stated she wants someone to see her heart, I think Jef does and from this point we will see a steady increase in the edit to that.
