I know that some reality dating shows are very scripted in terms of who the bachelor or bachelorette picks. Was CMT involved with your decision or did they let you literally choose who you wanted?

Umm, I TOLD them I was choosing who I wanted! Or I was gonna quit! They can't really do a show without me, you know I was like, "I found love, I fell in love, I'm a stubborn girl and I'm gonna pick who I want to pick. And, so, I'm sure I was a little bit of a headache to the producers, but I was like, "I understand, I understand it, but I'm picking who I want to pick.

I just feel so bad for her, whenever I read some of these behind the scenes stuff . I think she had a very difficult time during filming. I think it's clear that production wanted her to choose someone else. JMO.
I mean, I know they all signed up for this... but I don't think she deserves to be treated the way she has from the production team. She's stated several times that even though she was lucky to find love in her journey, she wasn't going to do reality dating series again.

Question - does production normally choose who the lead picks in other series (outside of SHA)? I mean, I guess I could understand if the lead doesn't make a connection with any of the contestants.... but in this case, Paige clearly has fallen in love, but they still wanted her to choose another guy.

And I'm kind of surprised she was allowed to mention this bit about production more than once.

I'm not totally sure that Jeremiah wasn't shown as himself. He probably did have problems (reasonably so) communicating to Paige; I watched the fight scene again in the Glassman Media preview and he did go after Lil Shaun in a NECK hold, not a punch, and he did have problems with drinking a bit. But he's not an alcoholic (party lightweight is a good word); the wrestling looked like guys would do with each other, etc. So it could be said it's accurate - so not going to knock Bubba and Shaun for saying 100%, but they could have made Jeremiah look better. And normally one considers themselves with questions and Bubba and Shaun got good edits. In fact all Bubba photos look much better than Bubba looks in the bed with his puppy.

Dee, Paige did the interview in the car while riding up to Kenora and I don't think CMT has a Cassie who goes everywhere with the lead. So IMO I think at this time Paige is being very honest in her answers, saying everything but who the F1 is.

RealityEscape - Hmm... Yes and No, I guess. I think it looks A LOT worse when they're only showing one guy in a scuffle; when who knows how many people actually broke out in a "fight" that night. I'm sure he did have problems opening up to Paige (at the beginning), but they played up that part and made him look unstable and emotionally unavailable (basically doesn't deserve someone like Paige). I mean, he told her he was falling in love with her and couldn't stop thinking about her, etc. Maybe not worded as eloquently, but, what more could he really say?

So, I guess in a sense, yes, it was portrayed accurately, as he was reluctant and had difficulties with this process [in finding love] and did get in a scuffle with little Shaun. But, in a way, it's not accurately portrayed to the context of the situation. Not sure if I'm making any sense haha. Anyway, JMO.


ETA: Lav - Oh, yeah I believe Paige was being very honest. I love reading her interviews because it gives insight to the show; and fills in some of the "holes" we see in the episodes. I just thought it would go against her contract to talk about certain aspects about the show . But, I'm grateful she has been revealing so much in her interviews. It really pulls the love story together :Smiley:

I do too. I think she fell hard fast for Jeremiah and maybe those in production weren't liking that, they still had quite a few shows to get through for the season! Right after he kissed her on the hammock they told them the date was over, so it would be hard leaving it like that.

Guess I don"t see the Bubba hate at all on this site. The spirit of respect for all who post here and for the various contestants is one of the things I love and value about this site. We each have our favorites for our various reasons and respectfully debate the pros and cons of each scenario. There is largely agreement and support for Paige and the exceptional job she has done in representing herself, her values and beliefs and her family. She has treated all of the men with care and respect and has gone through a very difficult, public process with grace, poise and confidence beyond her years.

We, as posters, have largely agreed that her final two men are exceptional, albiet different. They certainly have many things in common, both are gentlemen with strong beliefs in family and faith. They are hard-working men of integrity and respect. But there are differences and this is what we debate.

In the end, we all want Paige to follow her heart and find love and happiness. Her public comments lead us to believe she has done just that and is very happy and in love today, 3 months after the finale taping. And that is what we all want for her.

So much Bubba hate.....respectfully, I have to disagree :Smiley:

Regarding the supposed "hate" on this board, I see very little of it, including very little Jeremiah "hate", and this may be the only board I could say that about, as most every other place is more decidedly (and sometimes virulently) pro Bubba and anti Jeremiah. But I agree that there is far less gushing over Bubba here than elsewhere. If that constitutes "hate" for him, I can't even imagine a strong enough word for how to describe some of the comments I've seen elsewhere about Jeremiah.

It's obvious to me that although Bubba is a great guy for somebody, that somebody isn't Paige, at least right now. She fell in love with Jeremiah based on a stronger physical attraction (I don't really think she was physically attracted to anyone besides Jeremiah and big Shaun, and based on some similarities between those two guys, I suspect that's her "type") and a better personality and lifestyle match than with Bubba. I think her mom's joking comments may have illuminated that Paige isn't quite as "angelic" as the editing made her seem, and she still has a bit of the wild child in her (why not, she's only just 25). Sweet Bubba would bore her to tears right now. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the viewing audience is choosing for Paige based on their own personal preferences, which are helped along even further by the skewed black and white edits the producers have given us.

Juming in here! Not much of a poster but I just had to say it has been so much fun watching Paige and Jeremiah's love story. Jeremiah reminds me of Trista's Ryan and I think that is what drew me to the couple since her season was the first Bach show I watched. Thank you for all of the videos they are beautifully done. We don't have cable and I live on the West coast so I will have to live vicariuosly through all of you until it gets posted on their website!
