I had to give up the computer and then take my husband to the airport, and I have lost the train of thought on this thread, but I have a few thoughts going through my head which I will throw out, and maybe they will stick with someone.


First, if Ryan is going to "rub the guys the wrong way", he needs to get started quickly. Usually, we see those characters in full force by the second episode. Jeff (the mask) and William have occupied those spots up to this point. We know that William is going to put himself on the guys' bad list at the roast when he cuts Ashley too personally. Bentley is going to take up a lot of time and emotional space, and of course JP's storyline has to be established, not to forget BenC's flashmob date; therefore, if Ryan is going to become a pain in the rear, they are going to have to squeeze it in.

Next, the F2 guys are not like the F2 gals. Jason, Kipton, and Chris L are all nice guys, and were edited that way. Their fans loved them. Good-looking Kipton simply wasn't a match for Jillian, but he is a heck of a great guy.

Now the F2 gals were edited much worse! Chelsea mopped the floor up with Marshanna. Plus, they showed her taking her panties off.
Molly was straddlng Jason and whatever....she spent the night in the tent during the 4th episode and came home in his clothes in all smiles which did not at all look good regardless....
Tenley was the exception; she looked like an angel next to F1 Vienna.
Chantal got out of the car and walloped Brad one up side the head. Then she took on Michellle in the house, and she cried in almost all the episodes besides telling Brad she loved him really early in the season.

We head into Ep. 3 and we have yet to see an F1 or an F2 to try and figure out....

Question - is Ryan P. on the roast date? Maybe that's when he says stuff that rubs the guys the wrong way - roasts THEM instead of his Ash :giggle:

Also - technically not in the "five to watch" but Emily had full-page spreads in magazines, let alone just the little blurbs

Bloomers, I love that I'm not the only person who always has this show in the back of my head, even when I'm out and about. If I don't watch myself, I find my mind drifting to different scenarios and I can't wait to get home and post with all of you!! :!: :dancing peg:

yup Ryan was part of the group date. LOL, if that's the reason why he rubbed the guys the wrong way, then they should get over it! it's a roast!

Well if Ryan rubbed the guys wrong way due to his roast comments, good for him. Maybe he was paying them back for being mean to Ashley with their comments. Because, Ryan gets the rose on that group date and she keeps him around for a while. So, I would assume whoever was kindest to her going through that embarrassment of the roast, would get the rose. jmo

Its interesting that you mentioned this because the (Detailed) Episode description says something about (paraphrazing here) whether she would give the rose to Bentley or a "Compassionate man". Well we all know which man got it.

I'm so happy someoen at least was compassionate to her and it sounds like JP will be too. Watching those previews, I seriously just want her mom and dad to show up and take their poor child away from the people who run this show. :puke:

It's almost like TPTB wanted him to get to a certain point, be rejected, return, be rejected again, and then become TB. And it's almost like Ashley was aware of that, as she's still referring to him in her interviews. :con1:

ITA! That's been bothering me much as to why his 1-1 was so late into the season. If they had cast him this season with the next bachelor in mind, why not bring him to at least ONE more episode - HTD. He'd at least get more air time then, so the he'd be more memorable to the audience (along with coming back FRC/FD and get dumped again).

ETA: if he had stayed till at least HTD, I think that would justify him more for coming back and trying to 'win' Ashley's heart. But, he only get ONE 1-1 (and gets dumped), whereas the f4 had at least 1, some even 2 1-1 PLUS a HTD. They've spent a lot more time with Ashley than Ryan has. What made Ryan think that their connection was strong enough for him to come back to Fiji? Maybe she dumped him the first time around because of her insecurities? Didn't CH say Bentley's departure affects her decisions through out the remainder of the season?
